Hillary supporters Unit #3 ..yes we are still here!

I am reading the ridiculous abundance of political threads and I have finally come to a conclusion: We need a do-over!

I think McCain/Lieberman v. Clinton/Biden would have been a nice race. What do you think?

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

This would have been a race made in heaven for me. I would have wholly supported Hillary (not too crazy about Biden, but OK), yet accepted a McCain Lieberman win without much fear.

So different that what I feel now.

Not that this matters at all, but I think Hillary is much more attractive than Palin. She is 20 years older, but that just gives her face more character IMO. :confused3

ITA.

I think McCain was crazy like a fox. My 60 year old Hillary loving Aunt is now voting for Palin. She loves Biden & knows him. I'm floored. At first I thought WTH....but now :confused3

I remember one post by DISUNC where he said that there was nothing wrong with blacks voting for black candidate just because of race, or women voting for a woman just because of sex. I thought a lot about that. I think there's nothing wrong with voting for "one of your own" (for lack of a better term) if they share your POV, but like in the case of Palin, I could never support her just because she's a woman. She's the opposite of Hillary.

But I think it's different for the elderly. For many blacks this will be the only chance to vote for a black man. particularly with someone very old, they lived though so much discrimination, strugled so much. How many of them had to sit in the back of the bus, and be segregated in so many ways? To them voting for a black man must seem like a miracle.

Your aunt is only 60, and hopefully in excellent health, but one never knows. Perhaps she can't pass up the chance to vote for a woman on the ticket.

Got Disney";27431773]no surprise to this...... Looks like both Olbermann and Matthews have been striped of their anchor duties at MSNBC: [URL="http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/08/business/media/08msnbc.html?_r=2&hp=&oref=slogin&pagewanted=print&oref=slogin said:

The only good news in weeks! YAY!!! I wish I had seen the faces of those arrogant fools when they were told!!!!!

I still hate Obama with the fire of a thousand suns. I was willing to suffer through 4 years of McCain. But frankly his choice of Palin is setting my teeth on edge. She's a horrifying choice imo. Having her one melanoma cell from the presidency is unacceptable.

Sorry about so many posts in a row, but this sums my feelings perfectly.

With all due respect Dolce27 I read this article on Pajamamedia and Charlie Martin is a self professed Palin fan. Now that doesn't mean he's all wrong or all right. But it would be just as ridiculous to take that list of "Palin Facts" at face value as it would be to take some liberal blogger at face value. Particularly when you see the lengths that many on the right have gone to dismiss Palin's flaws.

The only solution is the research each issue individually.

That's a valid point. We should all be doing research. (But if anyone was actually doing research in this election than it would be Hillary as the Dem nom right now, not Obama). So far, what I'm researching on Palin is matching up with that list but I trust that list by a guy whose doing his research also (I didn’t read anything about this list on pajamamedia – Oh, but I wouldn’t tell LuvDuke that you read articles published on pajamamedia) more than I do the smear campaign that I keep finding to be false.

What happened? What did I miss? :confused3

They put Palin's baby up on Ebay today. They listed it as a "prop" with special needs and posted pictures of Sarah holding him at the RNC. Opening bid was $40.00. The last I saw there were 20 bids. Hopefully Ebay has removed it by now.

That's really classy :sad2:

Who did this? I doubt anyone in the Obama campaign would actually do this. Just some stupid college student's idea of a joke, I guess. What a moron! and the idiots bidding.:rolleyes1

But who do you mean by "they?" The Democratic party, or some off the wall far left wing fringe group similar to the Swift Boat Republicans? If your going to hold Obama and Democratic party responsible for that tasteless ebay thing, then you should also hold McCain and the Republican Party responsible for the ultra right wingers in swift boat or hold them responsible for the NC Repulican Party when they ran the Jeremiah Wright attack ads against Obama.

Wait a minute...are you equating the completely inane selling of a baby on ebay and Rev. Wright, which is a real issue that Obama has to confront? That is interesting moral equivalence.

i am looking forward to tne next campain in 2012,between president palin and democrats Hillary Clinton:rotfl2:

who is "they"??
and why is the candidate responsible for either supporters who crossed the line...or someone who does not even care about the election but has a sick sense of humor...??

vote or whomever you want..but to use this a proof of anything about obama or all OS is absurd!!!

No, I'm saying if you are holding Obama and the Democratic Party responsible for the ebay thing, which was posted by some wacky far left fringe group, then you also should hold McCain and the Republican party responsible for the actions of any far right wing fringe group.

First of all, I am not holding Obama responsible for the baby thing. It was probably a stupid college prank, God knows it's sophomoric enough. But the Rev. Wright issue is real and is not a product of some right wing fringe group. Obama himself said he could no more disavow Wright than his own Grandmother. The two situations are not even remotely similar.

I'm not holding Obama and the Dem Party for that (although there's plenty of crap that I am holding them responsible for!) I'm saying that story was like the icing on the cake that the left's been up to for the last two weeks.

Actually, I was responding to Dolce's posts. Bolding added for clarification.

The Democratic supporters and leaders have hit all time new lows. I’m beyond disgusted from what I’m witnessing. Putting Palin’s son Trig up on Ebay is the last of it. There’s nothing funny whatsoever about that. It’s just vile.

By referring to "Democratic Supporters and their Leaders", then an unqualified "They," certainly implies that ALL Democrats are included in that nonsense. I assure you that the vast majority of "Democratic Supporters and their Leaders" find it as distasteful as you do. And wouldn't most people consider the current Presidential and VP Candidates as a leaders amongst Democratic Supporters?

That is why I, and other posters, asked who are the "They" to whom she refers? Again, IF you are holding all democratic supporters and leaders responsible for that nastiness, you should hold all Republicans accountable for whatever nastiness the right-winger fringe groups post, too.

It doesn't mater to whom you were replying. You equated the selling of a baby on ebay to an attack ad re: Rev. Wright. Far be it from me to defend the right wing, but Obama's relationship to Wright actually is a valid issue in this campaign. Baby selling is just sick.

Fine. I’ll give my definition of “they” since it’s now such a big issue with a couple of you:

‘They’ is about 90% of the Obama supporters that I’ve had to deal with since deciding to vote for Hillary Clinton earlier this year in the Democratic Primaries. ‘They’ are a nasty breed of supporters of which I have not seen the likes from Hillary supporters or even the Republicans.

If you do not personally define yourself as a nasty breed of supporter, than I may consider you to be in the 10% of Obama supporters that’s actually decent.

And seriously? Trying to compare a political ad with Rev. Wright to selling a baby on Ebay? Not even close to being comparable.

Granted, the ebay thing was uncalled for. But now your getting into which campaign is "nastier?" Personally I think there is plenty of "nasty" to go around.

Seriously, you to classify 90% of the Obama supporters as "nasty"...I wonder what percentage of McCain supporters you classify as falling into that category?

I'm voting to protect the Supreme Court. I voted Hillary in the primary, I voted Hillary at our caucus, and was a Hillary delegate at our county convention. I seriously doubt Hillary would want McCain (or worse Palin) to have the ability to replace the few remaining, aging, somewhat liberal judges left on the Supreme Court. Do you think that is what she wants?

I would never classify 90% of any candidates supporters as "nasty" because a fringe group posted something on ebay. I feel sorry for someone who feels 90% of Democratic voters feel that way, especially when a large number of them supported Hillary. Remember that Hillary had a lot of supporters that are voting for Obama, because we voted for Hillary based on her being the best candidate, and for her political philosophy and believes, not her gender. About the only thing Hillary has in common with Palin is her gender. Politically and philosophically they are polar opposites.

I think that I’m going to try to stop posting on the Hillary thread. Doesn’t mean that I will – but I plan to try to stop. Obviously I’m to the point where I’m beyond disgusted with this election and Obama and the majority of his supporters. I don’t have any respect for the majority of the OS (and I definitely don’t have any respect for Obama himself) and since a lot of them are on this thread just about as much as the HS are, then I’ll try to stay off.

Out of my disgust from all that I’ve witnessed during the primaries and now the general election, I’m finding that I’m having more and more difficulty giving a civil response to an OS so it’s best that I try not to be in a position where I have to respond to them. I’ll probably post on the Conserv’s thread but for the most part I will attempt to stay off the other political threads.
