Highway in the Sky Dine Around with Wishes viewing area

I normally don't like too many upcharges for special events that infringe on other guests enjoyment, but this one seems to be a winner:)
I think it is reasonably priced and could be a lot of fun for participants. However, I don't drink alcohol, so this isn't for me,but it is very interesting.
I wonder if anyone who has booked has asked just how many guests are going to be in their group? Does anyone know? Just curious.

We tried asking as well but the CM didn't seem to know how many would be included in the group. I guess we'll have to wait for the reviews tomorrow!

The only value in doing this is if the deck viewing is worth $$$ to you. It is not for me. The progressive meal is a great idea but I can have a blast doing this myself for much cheaper and choose what I would like to include. In fact we are doing this several times this trip to try some of the many new restaurants..like a split with appetizer at Frontera and dinner at Raglan.

This is definitely likely, but not necessarily true. It depends on the Citricos entree and how restricted the drinks are. If they allowed a couple Lupa Lupa drinks at the Poly in addition to a more expensive entree and nice wine pairing, that would go a long way in matching the value with the price (roughly $125 before tax/tip). Let's see what people report on tomorrow.

Introverted people may prefer not to interact with strangers, and that's totally fine. Nothing wrong with them. :)

True... my husband is the more social one and is a good conversationalist. And yes - HopperFan - even at Disney I've encountered some stinkers as well. :(

I don't think there is anything wrong with them, for the most part I don't interact ... but if I am signing up for something that is potentially a very small intimate gathering where we might be seated together ........ I make an effort. I think the reviews this weekend will clear up the questions on numbers, seating, etc so those that would not be comfortable with whatever they present - have a chance to pass on it.

Yes; assortment of desserts, cordials and coffee (maybe cordial in your coffee).

We are always looking for something different. I've been going for 45 years, I like when there is new perspective to something. I think this may hold appeal to locals and APs who are looking for a new experience, for honeymooners, anniversary and birthday celebrate-rs, for families with adult kids who would like an "older" experience. That is what is so great about Disney, something for everyone, every age, etc.

This. We love trying new things and try to do something new each trip. Last year it was "Behind the seeds" this year it's this! Plus it's DH's birthday = bonus!

Stalk after this weekend when reviews come in. Not unusual for those in know to book opening day to make sure they don't lose and then decide after reviews if they will keep. I dropped the Jingle BAM Dessert Party after reviews came out. Not saying bad reviews but sometimes it doesn't fit ... like location, tables, chairs or not ... for this it might be menu etc.

I agree. We too snatched up a JBJB dessert party and then dropped it after the reviews came in. Just didn't seem like our cup of tea. Hopefully you will be able to snag a reservation!

As far as sitting with others, I could go either way. I thought I would hate sharing tables on our Disney cruise. We don't have kids, have fairly boring jobs and are both kind of introverted. But we had a blast! Met a super nice couple and another couple who shared our table never said 2 words to us the whole time. All of us had fun. I'm just excited for the experience and I won't let others ruin it for me.

I am considering this event even though we will staying at the Poly on our next trip and are already very familiar with the monorail resorts and restaurants.

My hesitation is two-fold: how many people will be in the group and DH uses an ECV at Disney. I know his ECV shouldn't pose any problems but we don't want to be a 'hitch' in the progressive dinner process. And if the group is too large that could spoil the whole thing.

I'm not so worried about mingling with others in the group though. For some reason even though I am definitely an introvert I find myself chatting easily with others at Disney. It's like we're all there for the same reason and it's easier to start conversations and talk about our trips. (And we too also had an unpleasant Biergarten lunch one trip as well as a Undiscovered Epcot Tour fiasco :rolleyes1.)
