This is quite a late post but been so busy since getting back!

Went to Disneyland Paris at the end of May (22-26) with my parents. This was my parents' first trip to Disneyland Paris (though we have been to other Disney parks before), and also my longest stay in Disneyland Paris...

Highs

Sequoia Lodge. We got a good price for the room with the 2 nights free offer, and the staff there were all fantastic. I emailed about a week before we went, and they gave me exactly the room I wanted (on the top floor of Yellowstone Lodge). They also sent up a kettle to the room within about 5 minutes of me asking for one at check-in! No problem adding on an extra person to the room either. The room was very comfortable - very nicely furnished! Also good 3G signal for internet. Shuttle bus to the parks was also very regular and useful especially given how cold/rainy it was while we were there!

Nonetheless still a few downsides to the Sequoia Lodge. The door key card reader to our room didn't work well - sometimes took around 10 tries before letting us in (and our neighbours had the same problem). We could also have done with some central heating as it was very cold while we were there (with one day being below 10 degrees Celsius). The electricity to Yellowstone Lodge also cut out one night, but this was fixed in probably around half an hour.

But all in all - loved staying at the Sequoia Lodge and would love to go back there!

Food.

Breakfast - we loved the breakfast, especially the croissants and pain au chocolat... The fresh cut fruits were also great! At check-in we were also given the choice of breakfast in the parks at Plaza Gardens, which we took one morning, but I think I preferred having breakfast in the hotel restaurant (Hunter's Grill).

We also had some half-board plus vouchers, and used them at Parkside Diner, Hunter's Grill and Walt's. The food at the two buffet meals was very good - was very fresh with lots of variety, and the dessert was so good (included pecan tart, cheesecake, chocolate brownie, ile flottante, black forest gateau, plus cheese and fruit). Walt's was excellent as usual, though was only open for dinner while we were there.

Only downside was BBWWS (more on this under Lows)...

Dreams. First time watching it with the new scenes from Lion King and Brave - really loved those scenes and I think they were really well done! We only watched it from the hub once though, on the Thursday. I wanted to watch it again on Saturday, but it was too crowded - the hub was completely full at 10pm for the show at 11pm! (Ended up seeing bits of it from further down Main Street... it's quite a different experience seeing it from the hub or down Main Street!)

Having a Dream AP - we bought a fair amount of souvenirs, and the discount (20% on most merchandise) was very welcome and saved us quite a bit! Discount on food was good too.

Characters. Saw so many characters having photo sessions around the parks - seems like there are many more around now than there were in my previous visits! Including the Mad Hatter, Mulan, Peter Pan and Wendy, Mary Poppins and Bert. Hope DLP keeps having more characters around, it's such a pleasant surprise to just walk around the corner and see a character!

Lows

BBWWS. I had requested a different dessert in advance, which they were happy to accommodate. While I appreciated that they accommodated my meal request readily, the service during the dinner was absolutely appalling.

Because of the different dessert, the server for our row insisted that he wasn't serving us and that someone else would give us our food (despite the starter and main course being identical). I spent the next hour trying to get his attention to ask where our food was (while everyone else around us were given their starter of chilli, had their starter taken away, and were given their main course), but all he kept saying is that we would get our food "soon". It was only when everyone else was almost done with their main course and some people were getting their dessert that he realised that we really hadn't had our food, and finally gave us our starter and main course. Very frustrating. And also meant that I wasn't able to properly enjoy the show as was spending too much time trying to catch our server's attention!

Weather. Too cold and rainy - not what we expected for the end of May! This is when I was glad that we were in the Sequoia Lodge as it was close enough to the parks for us to go back and hide in the hotel...

Eurostar. I usually love the Eurostar. But was very disappointed this time as the train home (Lille-London) was delayed by 2 hours at Calais due to a "security breach". Not enough information was given to us, and as it is a "security breach" Eurostar does not offer any form of compensation. Thankfully we made it back to London in time to take the last train home!

Thanks for sharing, shame about BBWWS and the service. Regarding the room did you nt alter the air con for heat as they are controlled by the same unit

That really is shocking service in BBWWS

Glad the rest of your trip was much better than that! Great to hear you also spotted lots of random characters walking around :cheer2:

Due to your Eurostar delay you will be able to claim compensation usually in the form of a free single ticket, or maybe even a free return ticket which you could use on a next visit.
