Mine is coming up.....twenty years have passed. I'm not sure if I want to see how old those people got. I have aged quite gracefully, thank you!

So, how many of you attend reunions, and why do you attend?

It was really, really fun.

its been 24 years for me, and never attended any of them, because i hate people

I went to my 10th and a few alumni parties before then. My 20th is coming up in 2004....and kinda excited. Probably because I still "hang out" with the same friends I graduated with (about 6 or so of them) plus my DH graduated with me too.....

Never been, never plan on going. Next year they'll be having our 15th reunion.

oh god....my 5th year reunion is this year.....I'm dreading it.....if i ever go, I want to be someone famous, or important....not jobless like i am right now....

Mine 10 year was a couple years ago. I didn't go, and do not plan on going to any either. Why would want to spend way too much money to attend a party with people that I didn't keep in touch with to begin with??

I went to my 5th and my 20th. The same people hung out with the same people. In other words, I was with my small group of friends and was bored. Don't plan on attending another. I never felt like a part of that town even though I attended school there since 3rd grade.

I haven't been to one of mine. And this year is our 25th! High school was okay, but I really don't care to see those people again. LOL! :teeth:

RNMom, I feel the exact same way. I started school in my town in 3rd grade and never "fit in" at school or anywhere else in town, i was never really welcome there.

Mine was fabulous! (10th)
Why? Well, I wanted to see several people. I had kept in touch with some and gotten back in touch with more. I also wanted to flirt with all the guys who used to have crushes on me... in front of my ex! :smooth:

I was the type with no really close friends but lots of acquaintances, so I had an easy time talking to everybody, even people I wasn't even acquainted with before. And then I spend a few days hanging out with some people that I should have gotten to know better years ago. I'm so glad I went. :)

I couldn't go to my 10th reunion because we lived in Italy at the time. My friends went and they brought pictues of me and they then sent me some moments from the event. My class didn't have a 15th and I hope to be living back in the US for my 20th whiche is in 3 years.

:bounce::wave::bounce:

we didn't have a 5 year, but when my 10 year comes around (sometime around June 2007?) I will go if at all possible.

My class ,'77, has had one reunion and it was soooo much fun. The only weird thing was alot of the local folks did not attend.. but lots of classmates who had moved away returned for the weekend of festivities. We had a small class of less than 150. So everyone pretty much knew everyone else. It was great to see the 'druggies' had turned their lives around, the jocks.. some had pot bellies, some still in shape, the nerds.. many successful, the social butterflies.. still social, the beauties.. not so cute but matured... If it sounds like I put a positive spin on everyone it may be true. But dang, we had a great time. For me, I took my husband who happens to be black to this all white H.S reunion. It was fun to see how many attitudes had not changed...... and wonderful to see how many attitudes had changed.. It is a big world out there. At the dinner dance we sat with a few of my old close friends and a few not so close.. we talked with everyone. Spent lots of time catching up with everyone.

Go.. have a good time..

My 25th is coming up a week from Saturday. It was a hard choice for me(either the Chicago DIS meet or the reunion). I decided to go to my reunion and now I can't wait. I did go to my 10th and had a blast so this one should be alot of fun.

I have only attended one high school reunion. It just happened to be the 50th and it was really great. It was amazing how most of us recognized each other after such a long time.

I've attended all of mine, the 20 year reunion was last year. I enjoyed them, particularly the 20th. People mellow a lot as they get older, and I got to know a bunch of people I didn't know in high school.

But then again, I'm not one who went through angst in high school. I got along with mostly everyone, and had nothing but nice memories. I can see why someone wouldn't want to go if their memories of high school were not fond ones.

I went to a large high school with 670 in my graduting class. At my 5 year reunion I saw some people I knew. At my 20th, I think about 125 students attended (+ some spouses.) I didn't know anyone. I doubt I will go to any more.
