It mows off. Entering the school was not a good idea. We tp'd our school. And tied balloons and stuff to the principal & VP cars.Sorry, that IS vandalism in my opinion.

In how long? Graffiti washes off, TP can be cleaned up, grass grows back, etc.It mows off. Entering the school was not a good idea. We tp'd our school. And tied balloons and stuff to the principal & VP cars.
Did you read the entire article? The forking wasn't the problem. It was the breaking into the school and what they did in there that was.TWO weeks of in-school suspension??? TEN DAYS? For forks in a football field?
What a bunch of authoritarian squares.
In fact, the kids should be commended for aerating the turf for free.
My DDs forked our yard for my DH’s 50th birthday this past December - totally harmless. Suspending kids for destroying property or harming people is understandable, but for something like this is ridiculous. When my DD22 was a senior they dropped 100s of ping pong balls down on this large area, during passing period, from an upstairs balcony. Everyone thought it was funny and they did pick up the balls. Senior pranks is a part of high school - as long as they are harmless, then let the kids make fun memories for themselves - IMO

Probably first time. they use spray paint to mark all kinds of things on Grass never lasts longIn how long? Graffiti washes off, TP can be cleaned up, grass grows back, etc.

The attitude that because their kids are top of the class, they should skate, really rubs people the wrong way. As it should.
I don't understand why they're pointing out that some are honor students, either. They didn't act very smart.
Meth lab = law enforcementIn my area a meth lab blew up a block from one of the high schools about a month before throwing the book at a bunch of kids for putting Jello in the water and whatever else the prank involved. I think people need a reality check on intent and severity, I'd submit that an inability to recognize that this knee jerk nonsense is not Justice is the problem. If you can't spot a meth lab before it explodes within 500 feet of a school you have lost all credibility trying to enforce a Peacekeeping Jello infraction. I have no taste for the inane strong arming of young people.
By me they pressed charges so it became a whole legal mess for the families costing thousands and nearly cost a bunch of kids their education. Hope it stays in the school in Texas.Meth lab = law enforcement
School prank = school officials
I don't get the comparison
What on earth does meth lab detection have to do with a school prank? In my area a meth lab blew up a block from one of the high schools about a month before throwing the book at a bunch of kids for putting Jello in the water and whatever else the prank involved. OK, so to put a finer point on it, law enforcement missed the meth lab BUT had the time to prosecute a bunch of kids for Jello. What on earth does meth lab detection have to do with a school prank?
Honestly a lot of us might be surprised what goes on in our neighborhoods...in homes that look perfectly fine..in nice neighborhoods too. But that doesn't have anything to do with this

Again, the punishment wasn't for the forks.I think two weeks is really long for such an easily-cleaned up prank as plastic forks. I would have just made them clean up their mess, and then maybe another spot too - the town square or something.
I'm less concerned about the forks than I am on why it appears that Death is taking the picture
