High Res Disc from Disney Photography Question

We are thinking of buying the high res disc prints of our wedding from disney photography. Is the quality of the prints as good as the quality you get from the 4x6 prints you get in your photography package from Disney? If I print out 8x10s, will the quality be really clear and not blurry or low pixles/contrast? The low res prints on the disc we got were very blurry when we printed them from walgreens. I just want to hear from people who have gotten the CD that it is worth the money. Thanks.

I got the high-res disc of images from my DP, and yes the images were huge and the prints I got from Walgreens look good.

Thanks Katie. I just glanced at your PJ from your DP and the images look much clearer then the ones I have posted on my PJ that came from the low res disc. I assume those are from the high res? You looked beautiful on your wedding day by the way. My big thing is getting 8x10s and 5x7s for our family and kodak gallery/walgreens is more then half the price of disney.

I had the 8 hour photo package and the low res disc comes with that package. I thought I would be able to print 4x6s off it (which i was told) but they came out blurry. The High res disc is extra and is $1000. 3 years after your wedding, it drops to $500. For me it is worth it since I have to make 4 family albums(divorce parents) and send some to my grandma. I am making my own family albums through either kodakgallery or some other site instead of through disney which is cheaper.

Thanks! I might wait until I get the disc to finish my PJ since the photos will look so much better. I am ordering it today, so not sure how long it takes to come.


Yeah, I feel that the pics i posted even in my TR look so grainy. I do not get the point of the low res disc since any way you print or post it looks crappy IMHO. I am glad to hear that your 8x10 came out so good.

The CD for Escape brides does have different pricing I believe....(though it might be different for those who got married in '10 and beyond)

Our CD would have cost $750 and if we wait 3 years it's $350.

The lo-res one costs $100 and you cannot print from it. You can only use it for on-line purposes or a digital photo frame for instance....

Steph-The pics in my TR are from the lo-res CD...do they look different than yours? If so, you might want to check with them to see what the issue might be...(unless you think my pics in my TR look grainy too....LOL but I never noticed)

Lori-Yeah yours looks better than mine I think. Look at mine in my PJ and tell me what you think We are ordering the high res since it works out better for us in the long run.

Ok, I see what you're saying...that's weird though. I wouldn't totally dismiss it if I were you though, I mean you did pay good money for the lo-res CD too and you should be able to use it to post pics of.

I would ask them about it..

Steph!! (goodness you're probably rolling your eyes at me lol! ) I looked at your newest pics....gorgeous btw. Again though, they ARE so much blurrier than our low res are. I was wondering (since you mentioned walgreens.com), did you upload the disc to walgreens.com and are using that site to load the pics on your PJ/TR??? I ask b/c I initially loaded roughly 200 DPS pics on walgreens and left it. Then uploaded the entire low res to photobucket. I'll be honest our low res pics are smaller (closer to 4x6) but are MUCH clearer on photobucket than walgreens. Since I never had a TR - Look at the POTD thread and you'll see what I mean. If I upload via the walgreens site the pics are automatically bigger and fuzzier. I was just thinking that'll temporarily help you. As you know, (but I'll tell all) we had the 10 hr package and got all our Disney albums and big prints. We are extremely happy with those, but I am anxiously awaiting roughly 1.5 more yrs to pay $350 for the high res of our wedding "events" and MK shoot. That way I can enhance/photoshop the pics the way I want them! I know you have additional albums to make....if you need to then just skip it and make all the albums you want....just know what a great job Disney'll do on your and Tom's album! IDK , I so want you to have what we do, but understand why you would want to forego it to save $$$ and have full creative control. Either way, you know I wish you both the BEST!! I only wish I was far enough out to really give you a great and solid answer to your initial question.
