HIFS with 12, 9 and 7 year olds??/

We are thinking of flying into Orlando on Friday July 30, and staying until Sunday, before our family reunion (which begins Sunday). (That is, if my daughter doesn't have baton camp!!)

Has anyone stayed here with older kids? Mine will be 12, 9 1/2 and 7. We are planning to just hang around, adapt to the time change (3 hours), swim, etc. We got the entertainment rate of $102, and with free breakfast and kids eat free for lunch and dinner, it could be a cheap weekend.

I'd appreciate any advice

We just returned from a 10-night stay at HIFS and we LOVED it!! We had a king kidsuite, which had a king bed in our bedroom, bunk beds in the kid's room with another pullout bed. There is also a sofa/sleeper in the living room area.

The queen kidsuite has a queen bed in the MB and twin beds in the kid's room. Again, there is a sofa/sleeper in the living area.

Our kids are 11.5 and 8.5 and we were very comfortable. We did learn something though - our son no longer wants bunk beds! He didn't like having to climb up and down the ladder all the time. He ended up using the pull out bed in their room for about 6 nights. He said it was comfortable, but it did seem a bit smaller than the bunk bed and it squeeked a bit.

Probably if you had the two younger kids in the bedroom and your oldest on the sleeper sofa in the living area, you'd be fine. Or you could sleep all three in the kid's room with the bunk beds and pullout. You might just want to put a smaller child on the pullout.

We ended up using three days to just hang out at the hotel and swim. The pools are great! The breakfast was very good and plentiful. We have all said that we'd stay there again and we highly recommend it to others!

You also have a small fridge, microwave, and three TV's! One in each bedroom and one in the living room area. The kids room also has Nintendo, a CD player, and a VCR.

We just stayed there for our 4th time and my kids are 14, 13, and 9. My kids love the bingo and kareoke that is held nightly.

FYI HIFS also offers 2 bedroom kidsuites with 2 twin beds (not bunk) for families with older children....that's what we've reserved.

Thanks everyone for all the positive reviews on HIFS. We've never stayed at HIFS and you're making us feel real good about our decision.

My family just got back from a weeks vacation (10/20-10/27). We stayed at HIFS, my two kids, ages 12 and 8 had a wonderful time. They enjoyed swimming in the pool, playing mini golf, shuffle board and having their own room! Mom and Dad enjoyed having their own room even more !!!!!

I do recommend getting the refillable cups they sell in the store in the lobby. They are $2.99 and you can fill them at any location in the hotel, pool too!! Lunch cost us around $11.00-$13.00 (2 adults and 2 kids) and the free breakfast was always good.

I highly recommend this hotel. Have a great time!!!
