We just got back from a 3 night stay at the Holiday Inn Family Suites. We had a GREAT time. Late Sunday afternoon, when it was pouring rain, we toured the Disney Wilderness Lodge and the Animal Kingdom Lodge just for future reference. My 8 year daughter said why are we doing this, cause she wants to go back to the Family Suites! My two girls (other one is 5) spent every waking moment that we were in our room in their bedroom. They thought the bunks were the greatest. The pool was of course a hit and they liked getting the free gameroom tokens on check-in. What a great hotel! Esp for the entertainment card price! And, we used a pizza party coupon and had pizza the evening of the day we spend at Disney World. A full breakfast is included and kids eat free in the restaurants as long as one adult eats there. It was really an awesome time!

I now have pizza party coupons for this hotel if anyone would like me to send you one. The way it works is that you call the reservations desk and let them know that you have the coupon. Then, we you check in, the exchange the coupon for a piece of paper that you redeem at Pizza Hut in the lobby for a free med one-topping pizza, 5 breadsticks, and a 2 litre bottle of any coke product (they have pretty much everything available). The coupons are good till 12/20/03.

Please e-mail me if you'd like me to mail you a coupon or if you have questions about the resort. maureenk@rochester.rr.com

Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at HIFS! Sounds wonderful! We have ressies to stay there the end of May. I am seriously thinking, however, about switching to Port Orleans-French Quarter to take advantage of onsite conveniences. Not sure I want to give up the suite though. I'm thinking that it probably won't take any longer to hop in a car at HIFS and drive to WDW as it will to catch a bus from PO-FQ to a park. How do the locations compare?

Also, is there a particular area of the hotel (HIFS) that you would recommend staying in? Thanks!

I don't know about POR. Holiday Inn Family Suites was VERY close to Magic Kingdom. I guess I can't really help you on the comparison between the 2. Since we were only going to a park on one day, staying on- or off-site really wasn't an issue for us. I think that HIFS will be MUCH less expensive for you, esp. considering it includes breakfast and kids eat free anytime you want to eat at the hotel. Having the space of a suite and the fridge and microwave was convenient. As far as location, we were in building 12, which was a good haul away from the lobby, which is where breakfast is. Building 11 is kind of neat in that all of the rooms overlook the pool area, since it juts into the pool area. In the other buildings, 1/2 the rooms overlook the pool and the other overlook the parking lot. If your kids are small and walking them around is an issue, I would request a room near the lobby on the pool side of a building, because the resort is quite large. Let me know if you'd like for me to mail you a pizza coupon. That's another approx $20 you'll save. It might boil down to how important the on-site advantages are to you. Good luck in your decision........
