Hide the Rum. A trip report. New! 6/19!

One day we were at MK and had just finished lunch at Columbia Harbor House. A family of three like us had just exited the HM. Apparently the mom's name was Brenda and she wasn't happy. Not one bite.

How many bites then? Two? Three?

Great report. Thanks for sharing.

I love a 12 year old in a pin lanyard. That boy of yours may just make my Top Ten list.

Jammy, you might feel differently if you had a Yetsah he was persuing.....

Just sayin.........

Hi Marita!

Excellent point.

Maybe Tink took him to Disney to get him away from sad Yetza???

A man in a Disney pin lanyard. People magazine really should have taken that into consideration when looking for eligible bachelors.

Not that Richard's anywhere CLOSE to eligible yet or anything Tink for at least ten years.

Calm down.

I'm a little bit scared of you.

Come on give us more. I am loving this TR. There are a few great writers on here and I so look forward to reading them. You are one....

We can't wait to head down to the world in Sep.

Jami - try twenty years, dear. Try not to give me a heart attack! And WHY are you scared of me?!?

goofymom - Thanks for the cmpliment! You made my day!

I'll try to post another installment today - IF the fax machine shuts up! It's being rather loud at the moment, though.:sad2:

Just kick the stupid thing - I find it shuts up right after I do that. Granted, it only starts working again once I call the techie, but that's neither here nor there, right.... :rolleyes1

Loving your TR!! Keep up the good work, and don't let the fax get in the way of your VERY important work here... God knows I certainly never let my job get in the way of my DIS-activity!! :lmao:

The Beverly pics speak for themselves.

Look.

Epcot didn't have Beverly or that watermelon drink when I was there in August. From the looks of it, perhaps it was a good thing they were out of Beverly. :)

Fun trip report. I can't wait to read more!

Don't you hate it when work gets in your way of DIS time. :rotfl2:

I just put "try Beverly" on my list of things to do. I'm not going to try it, but DH is...:rolleyes1

Keep it comin'!

Chapter 4 continued. WS Players, wine, and Le Cellier.

After the Beverly experience, we headed to WS through the bees and wasps of the Flower and Garden Festival. We had ADR's at Le Cellier, so we had a bit of time to kill. One of my bestest IRL and Internet friends turned me on to the UK WS Players. (Ashclan! LY/MI!) We'd never seen them so we decided to give it a try. She is RIGHT on with her description of this show. It was excellent. We saw them three times while we were there!

We also saw the British Invasion while we were there. These guys are great, but they DO have a weird cult following thing going on. There was this girl in one of the shop entrance doorways swaying to and fro the whole time. She was a tad strange, to say the least. She looked like Amy Winehouse. (I am embarrassed that I actually know who Amy Winehouse is, TFI.) Bailey kept looking at her and giggling. It took me a half hour to ask WTH she was laughing at.

Then there was the dude that sand every word of every song. LOUDLY. He was hot.

No. Nevermind. IT was hot. Very. This may be TMI, but I kept smelling something. And thinking SOMEONE needed deodorant. I was hoping it wasn't me. Seriously. It smelled BAD. Like old fish. It turned out to be the Fish and Chips stand. OMG, I thought I was going to die.

After watching swaying girl we headed over to France. Dick had had a couple of Bass Ales and I'd had nothing. It was wine time, Baybee. We stopped at the kiosk and I was all ready to order the Chardonnay. Dick told me to get the Pouilly Fusse'. YUM. At 8 bucks a glass, I had one.

It was time to check in for the ADR's. At Le Cell. No problems at check in and we we at our table in no time.

Our server was Nitza. Say Pizza. She was annoyingly cheerful. Sorry.

I had the Cheese soup as my appetizer. It was NOT as good as I had thought it was going to be to me. The texture was a bit gluey.

It needed cream. JMHO.

Okay. So there wasn't a soup pic there. Just believe me, okay?

We were done for the night after that. I think. So we went back to POP and went to bed. Or did we?

In just a few short hours we are heading to the Happiest Place on Earth!

We made a very difficult decision to relocate to Mississippi. I was able to stay with my company and move to a parallel position here. He found a job paying more than what he was making back home, and we were also able to buy a beautiful new home very close to my son’s new school. We are truly blessed.

Lets get to the facts, ma’am.

The krewe:
Me – Tink, the planner and copilot.
DH – Dick(y), Richard, whatever you want to call him – The pilot. Loves all things Disney, as do I
DS – Richard – 12 year old who is too smart for his own good. This tends to get him in trouble with the copilot. A LOT. Thrill ride seeker.
DN – Bailey – also 12 – 11 weeks older than Richard. Very shy and sweet. Loves her Nanny (me) to death. Also a thrill ride seeker.

O.K. I am reading along thinking to myself....hey I live in MS too........hey I have a neighbor named Dick with a son named Richard too.....and then I see the pics!!!! ROFL!!!!! :wave2:It's me Jennifer.....Waving from ACROSS THE STREET>>>who knew there were two Dis'ers and Disney addicts on the same street!!! LOLOLOL

Can't wait to hear about the rest of the trip!!!

OMG! That is too funny, Jennifer! You know you're in trouble now, right?;) :lmao:

Chapter 4 (Still): Enter Stealth

I forgot to mention a few things yesterday. About this day, that is.

1. We had lunch at Tangerine Cafe'. We had this: It was AWESOME, as usual.
100_0944.jpg

100_0943.jpg

2. There was a new CM outside of Le Cell. He struck up a conversation with me and was a nice enough kid. I don't know if he was messing with me or what, but her referred to Test Track as Fast Track and Expedition Everest as Mt. Everest. I wanted to hit him. Instead I just corrected him. Sheesh.

3. There was a weird Neanderthal man giving me the eye at Le Cell. Bailey kept asking, "Nanny? Why is that man looking at you like that?" Seriously, dude. Take a pic. It lasts longer. Yeah, that was lame. Sorry.

Here is where Bailey earns her new name - Stealth. I wanted to take a pic of this guy. Sadly, it did't come out. She told me to act like I was using the phone to text someone (because I do that SOOO much, right?) and snap his pic. I made her do it. I thought she was going to slide under the table we were laughing so hard.

We were in bed by midnight.

(More when I get home since I have declared this a no cooking night for me! )

Up next - MGM day and my notes are starting to get harder and harder to read.

Chapter 5 - MGM day!

Early arrival and a bored husband equals feet pics.

No, you don't get to see the feet. So there.

We are at MGM today and I am HAPPY! We did everything we wanted to do and more.

100_0984.jpg

Our ADR's were at the Prime Time Cafe' that night.

Before we arrived, Bailey and I split from "the men" to go shopping. I had a certain Tink watch in my mind that I wanted to purchase. I saw it at the evil MCO Disney Store. I found out that they are not the same as WDW shops. Phooey. Anyway, we went to this shop that said, "Jewelry and Watches". OMG. All of humanity was in that store. AND there were no GOOD watches. Just the cheap 29.00 ones. It was a pump fake Disney watch store. (Hi, NM!)

We caught a pretty good street performer act, though, and so did Rich and Dick on Sunset Blvd. at the same time.

We were early, so we grabbed some seats at the bar. The kids had virgin Pina Coladas. I had (surprise) wine and Dick had a beer. The Imagine Chardonnay is quite tasty, TFI.

Our server couldn't have been better. Everytime we've been here, with one exception (Hi, Jerry!), we've had excellent service. I'm not ashamed to admit that several members in my family have had to perform, "I'm a Little Teapot", including me.

Not today, Zurg.

We were all on our best behavior for Cousin Oni. Bailey and I set the table and Oni was very impressed.

100_1016.jpg

She came over and introduced us to our cousins on the left, a very large (as in many) family from Michigan. A while later our cousins from New York joined us on the right. Our cousin from Michigan wouldn't eat his green beans. He was sent to the wall to hold up a packet of sugar wth his nose.

100_1007.jpg

He also made fun of me for taking pics of our food. Whatever, dude. Really, though, they were very nice.
100_1004.jpg

After dinner we headed to TOT for our Fastpasses. I was a tad worried, but went anyway. On the way we saw this. Awwwww.

I've never eaten there. Why did you have to sing "I'm a Little Teapot" and is the 50s diner family style?

Chapter 6 - AK/MK and the WALL

There is bound to be a day in every Disney trip when you hit THE WALL. You know what it is. You can't go anywhere. You can't do anything. You're hungry for a snack, and you're STUCK. This is especially possible on Memorial day weekend. We'll get to that in a minute.

We started out in AK today. We rode Kali River Rapids and I was the one who got soaked. Yup. Wet panties. NOT hot.

We grabbed fastpasses for Dinosaur and headed over to Conservation Station. The only thing worth doing here is the Rainforset room thing. It gives me the chills every time.

Let me just say this right now. I love animals. I was a vet tech for over 5 years and I have many pets to prove it that I have rescued from various animal shelters. This is much to my husband's dismay and my child's delight.

But the petting zoo. Are you kidding me? Gross. I'll pass on paying to see goats poop, TYVM.

After our return from the rain forest, we ventured over to Dinosaur. I LOVE this ride. Scares me every time, although I've just recently been able to get a pic with me sitting straight up instead of having my head in someone's lap.

Next we went to see the Lion King. On the way we saw DeVine. The kids (and Dick) love her.

100_1039.jpg

Then we hit THE WALL. Oh, the stupid evil wall. I so rarely hit it. Yet I despise it still.

I wanted an ice cream sandwich so bad from Main Street. Alas, I was foiled by the stupid parade.

Don't get me started on the parades, okay? Let me just say that if they aren't throwing moon pies, cups, beads, or doubloons, I won't be there. Nuff said.

We were in Adventureland. The Dole whip stand was packed. I wasn't really into the Dole whip to begin with, and Bailey was with me on that. We headed to the Sunshine Terrace. I needed to get some rocks at the shop there, anyway, so why not kill 2 birds with one stone?

Oh. Why did I need rocks, you ask? I'll tell you. I just got a rock pool for my back yard. So. I needed pretty rocks for my new rock pool. Disney rocks. Nothing else would do. My sister and I would buy rocks every time we went to Disney. Hmmmn. The bags seemed bigger then.
shock:

So. Back to Sunshine Terrace. I had the Citrus swirl and OMG. It was the best thing I've ever had. THIS is my new Dole whip.

After we made our way out of MK we headed to the Monorail to the Poly for Kona ADR's.

On the way up I took a pic for my mom. I've been taking this same shot since the kids were 3, I think.

100_1041.jpg

I did a drawing of of it and gave it to her one year. I've been working on a second one - a painting - for about 4 years now. At LEAST. This thing is my nemesis. I hate it. I've restarted it more times than I care to recal. It mocks me. It sits on my easel and laughs at me, I swear. I can't wait to get it out of my house. Never again.

Anyway, pic taken and all is good.

I had a lovely talk with Jami and then finished dinner. Pluto drank more wine. Red, this time.

100_1043.jpg

Dick and the kids went back to MGM for EMH and I went to BED.

I was working on 4 hours of sleep for 3 days and I was DED.

That's all for tonight, I think.

Up next - Blizzard Beach and it's all gravy from here on out!

Wait. One more.

Here is Dick when he found out there were no free refills on tea.
