Hiccups?

Has anyone been bothered with Hiccups while on Adkins?
I have been doing Adkins for 3 weeks now and I get hiccups more than I have ever had them, sometimes 4 or 5 times a day.
They are relieved with lots of sips of water but it is frustrating because they come on without warning and if I can't get to water they just don't stop.
I looked up hiccups on the internet and they sometimes are caused by weight loss so that is a good thing, but they are irritating still. Peggie

Are you drinking water (or a beverage) while eating? How about eating too fast? Those are two things that give me the hiccups. When I am at work, and have a meeting or something to do and I try to sneak my lunch in before I go I usually get them because I am rushing and maybe not drinking with it.

Just a thought......

I've been on Atkins for 2 weeks, and I've also been getting hiccups much more often than I used to.
I'd like to think that hiccups mean that I'm burning fat, but it's probably something simple like I'm not chewing my food well enough.

If anyone has any additional input about Atkins and hiccups.... please post here!! :wave:
 

I am drinking about 4 times the water that I used to drink in the past. I was drinking about 4 quarts of crystal light the first two weeks but I haven't lost alot of weight so I stopped that and now drink water all day and 1 glass of crystal light with dinner.
I am eating very slowly. I cut all my meats into smaller pieces than I did in the past because when the family is eating meat and potatoes I want to make my meal last as long as theirs.
I usually get the hiccups 2 hours after eating, when I wake up in the morning, etc... there is no reason that I can think of.
But I do like your reason Flower, it is another way to burn fat. So if I get hiccups more often I can stay off the treadmill? Peggie
