Hello everyone, and thanks for these boards!
I'm Ruby, age 37, and planning my first ever trip to WDW over Jan 31 - Feb 4. Travelling with me will be The Pixie, age 10, and The Spouse, 45. It's the first time for all three of us, and is actually meant to be a birthday gift to The Pixie, with a little birthday fun for me too (we have december birthdays).
I'm reading the boards obsessively, TBH.
The Pixie has a very severe, life threatening allergy to dairy - including inhaled with powdered dairy products. I'm allergic to seafood, and Pixie and I both have migraines. I've got other pain issues as well.
I'm looking to learn more about making this fun for a tween, keeping said tween safe, etc. Amusement parks often are stressful, as you can be waiting in line next to a kid with a bag of Doritos, or drinking a milkshake, who then drops it and it gets everywhere.
We chose Disney because of its reputation wrt food allergies. I'm even hoping to get her a birthday cake there.
Thanks, and feel free to drop any hints, tips, etc that help.
BTW, this will be the first time we travel where we aren't going to have to rent a place with a kitchen to feed us - we opted for the dining plan with the full sit down service, hoping that it is safer than counter service, etc. I'm tired of having to cook every time we travel. It really sucks.
