We've been talking about this trip for over a year, and we are ready to start booking now. :cool1: I didn't realize how overwhelmed I'd be by all the information and decisions. We've decided on the last week in April (finally...our first decision made!!!) and I'm wondering, should I book the room first, then the flight? Do most of you book your room, pkgs, etc. online or do you phone disney? I've been lurking here so long and have lots of questions, but any help you can offer on these few would be great.

Thanks alot!
Lori

Hi,

We are going the same week as you! We shopped around for prices on flights first, then once we found what we were willing to pay our TA reserved those flights for us until she called down to Disney to make sure rooms were available etc. Our TA quoted us dollar for dollar what Disney quoted us and we are able to change it if a deal comes out.
Good Luck :flower:

Hey, We're also going the same time as you. I made our plane tickets back in June, but I would definitly say do that first. I think made our hotel resservations and ADRs right after via phone. I felt that the TA wasn't going to do much more than I could do so I went ahead myself. Also I enjoyed that part of it alot!! It's nice to know too if I want changes made I didn't have to call my TA to do it for me. Hope this helps at all!

Hi ~ We are going the same week too! April 23 seems to be the "Regular" season and we love April ~ so April 23 will start our trip!

My dd is very ill ~ [Make a Wish Kid] ~ and she wants to return to CBR. So we will likely do about 3 nights there. I'm looking at Buena Vista Suites or something like that for the start of the trip.

I'll book a little later than usual ~ all depends on Sick Kids appt. S

Check your flights first and package online. Compare the two and see which is better. Sometime Disney has good flight prices in their plans. Have a great trip. :flower:

Hi. We'll be there the end of April--arriving on the 28th! We always book the airplane tickets first. Then we call Disney directly and book the resort or package. We are hoping for a possible deal but who knows. When I contacted a TA, she didn't seem to know half as much as I did from reading the boards so now I do it myself. We have gone in March in the past so waiting until April seems like a long time--but it shouldn't be as busy then. Can't wait! :cool1: Happy planning!

We are returning the last week of April as well. Flight prices have been very high so far this year. We fly out of Halifax (not sure where you are) and flights seem to be filling up from here quickly for your time frame. I would definitely get your flights booked as soon as you can. Sure you may get a better price by holding out closer to your departure but there is still the risk of no seats - that is the last stress I would want in planning a vacation so far in advance.

After we confirmed flights, I booked PO Riverside as we are 5 going this time and need the trundle bed.

I used a TA last year but ended up telling her when codes were published and getting them applied. We originally had the Cdn at Par deal from last fall and a code came out the very day we were booking - saved us over $500! So this year, I dealt directly with Disney and the airline.

Have fun with the planning and if the weather is like 2005 in April it will be wonderful.

The last week of April seems popular, I wish I had booked after Easter. the crowds at the end of April should be less. We are going April 5th -15th and haven't got rooms booked yet. We usually wait until January to do that. We have never stayed on site so I guess thats the reason. Still five months away and already I am excited. We always do our own bookings instead of a TA. That part of the fun for me.

hey, we haven't booked yet but plan to for the 23rd as well! Sounds like a meet is in order. We'll be staying in a value, stayed at CBR last time and would rather spend more $ on other items than the room.
