HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Our Yankee opens at 9am on Friday - which is only 1 hour earlier than normal, thank God! Some open at midnight tonight. NUTS! I'm putting a sign on the door when I go in at 7:30 tomorrow saying Doors Open at 9am or I'm not kidding you, they will be banging to get in by 7:45! There's nothing more annoying that starts my day off badly then when customers are banging on the door before we open. If we open at 9am I will unlock the door at 9am. That doesn't mean 8:45, 8:50 or even 8:57. ARGH! :headache:

Friday - all gift sets Buy 2 Get 1 Free, plus doorbuster of 2-pack of jar candles (pre-selected scents) for $10 with a $30 purchase.

Saturday - all Festive scents, Buy 2 Get 1 Free (but there's a coupon out now for Buy 2 Get 2 Free so that's obviously a better deal)

Sunday - all accessories Buy 2 Get 1 Free

I won't pack til Tuesday or Wednesday. Everyone is saying how cold it is down there but the 10-day forecast shows mid 70's later next week....so of course I'll have to pack shorts & tees and jeans & jackets too! I'm only taking 1 carry-on, I may have to do some creative packing!

I'm really hoping for warm weather! The days look pretty good for my dates, but nights will be uncomfortably cool for me. I HATE BEING COLD :scared: I ordered a couple of fleece pullovers from Land's End and bought a hat yesterday. I won't actually pack until Monday.

Hi Jamie!

Last December when I went with DS7 it was warm & humid the entire time. I think we wore sweatshirts 1 or 2 nights on the Boardwalk but that was it. 2 years ago - OMG we were freezing one day - it was in the 50's and very windy - we had layer after layer & hats & gloves, and were still cold!

I will take gloves & earmuffs or something. Like I said, I have to fit it all in my carry-on which is going to be a challenge! I ordered a big Vera Bradley duffel bag for the trip but got an email last week that it was no longer available....wah!!!!!!!!!! Of course all the other pieces came like the jewelry roll, cosmetics bag, etc. The Vera duffel was much larger than the one I currently use, so I was looking forward to being able to pack more things in it. Oh well, I went in May with just my current duffel, I will have to do it again! Worst case I will just pack what I can & do laundry one night!

Don't you hate it when you can't get what you want in time for a trip? I envy you being able to just take a carryon! If it weren't for having to take winter stuff, I could probably do it this time since we're only staying five nights. "Cold" for me is anything under 60 degrees :rotfl: I'm also getting an Owner's Locker starting in May, so I'll be able to leave a set of cosmetics & toiletries there. Then I'll just have to pack clothes & medication--I'm really looking forward to that convenience :woohoo:

Hey I have something else to be thankful for today - I was checking my Dolphin ressie & saw that they had a lower rate for my dates - so I called & they applied it! Saved $105!!

Glad you got a cheaper rate. That's awesome. I am going to take some pics at FW and see what kind of decorations people do there. Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. We did - there were seven of us. Just great to have family together and then my sister and husband came over later. She is already packed and she beat me, that is unusual. Going to pack now.

tiggerfan - all set to go? What time do you leave, and from which airport? I have 6 days & counting. Just starting packing my toiletries tonight. Weather next week looks great - mid 70's during the day, mid 50's at night. It's been so cold here lately that mid 50's sound fine! I just went & pulled out some hooded sweaters to pack - and I have a lime green one! How cool is that?!

Jamie - it must be warm right now in Texas. We have high temps of about 40 here in PA....coooooold......

By your definition, it probably is warm :lmao: It's about 55 right now, and highs will be in the mid 60s for the next fews--lows in the low to mid 40s, which is way colder than I like. Accuweather says the night we get in (12/2) will be "clear and cold with the temperature approaching the record low of 38 set in 1974." :scared1: Yeah, that's really what I wanted to hear .

I bought a warm hat, gloves, and a couple of fleece pullovers this week, and I'm taking a lined windbreaker and fleece headband. The low 70s will be great during the day, but I'm afraid I'm going to be uncomfortable at night. I've been wearing sweats in the house today with the heat running :goodvibes

Hi friends!! Sorry I've been busy since Thanksgiving putting up my Christmas lights outside & decorating inside! Tomorrow....my little Disney tree!:lovestruc
:confused3 did not have the need to turn heat on yet..
No heat yet???? OMG!!! You & Tiggerfan4me would get along just fine!!! She's always hot! I told her our time together in Disney in March will be funny! I'll be wearing flannel pjs while she'll have the AC blowing!!:rotfl2:

Oh Jamie, I'm with you! I looked at Accuweather too & it looks like it should be comfortable during the daytime. Unfortunately, it looks like rain for the evenings during my time there. :headache:

:p

No snow here in Delco just rain

48 hours from now, I'll have had dinner at Brown Derby & seen the Osborne Lights :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Packing for cold weather is a real PITA. I had to go from my medium-sized suitcase to my giant suitcase, which I haven't used in a lot of years. Even then, I normally had clothes for me and one of the kids in it! Fleece takes up a whole lot of room :scared1: Maybe I should put it in a compression bag...

See you guys Friday night :woohoo: (although I see on accuweather that's the only night of my trip that rain is in the forecast :sad2: )

Hello everyone, I wanted to give everyone an update on our Banditt. Banditt had been holding her own until last weekend when she took a turn and I was at a loss as what else to do for her. She did not seem to be in any pain of distress so we kept trying. This Friday she started to not be able to keep water down. She had a good night on Friday and I slept down stairs with her. On Saturday the situation got worse and she could not keep anything down and all she wanted was do drink because she was so thirsty. John and I then made the heartbreaking decision to give her peace. Our hearts are very heavy as we loved her and she was such a great part of our lives, she had been with us over 16 years so we were very lucky. The house is very different without her, and the other dogs seem unusually quiet.
As I think I mentioned before Banditt is the seventh dog of my original eight. I only have her almost 16 year old daughter Azul left of those eight. We also have Boo who has been with us for 2 years. I have been lucky in that all my dogs have lived to ripe old ages, so I guess I am spoiled. I would have given anything to have kept each and every one of them a few more years with me, Each one has been a huge loss to me.

Thank you all for your kind support, I really appreciate it. You all are the best. Terri

So sorry to hear about Banditt:grouphug: I have been there too and it isn't an easy decision, but so glad it is available so they don't have to suffer. We just had to put our cat Louis (14) to sleep a few months ago because he went into kidney failure and his buddy Hunter (16) died a week later. We miss them both.
When we got back from our cruise we adopted two kittens who are trying hard to fill some huge holes in our hearts. Our dog adopted them right away, but our 2 year old cat is still having a few problems with them, but is slowly coming around.
