Hi Folks

Kevin,
I'm glad you're on the road (or at least the bed) to recovery. I'm sure 2 weeks laying on your stomach won't be much fun but it sure is a great position for that back rub. Just keep telling John it's the only thing that makes you feel better! Well I hope to hear your voice on the podcast soon.
Take care.

You know we all love you Kevin! Listen to the doctor so you can come back that much faster. :grouphug:

The reason for this is that they put a gas bubble in my eye which holds the retina to the back of the eye and allows it to heal.

The hard part is that I am just not built to lay flat on my stomach. I can do it.....but then I dont breathe well. I have managed to find a suitable position, but it;s sort of fetal with a double gainer.

Hi Kevin,
glad everything went fine :cheer2: . My mom had that same surgery with the gas bubble almost to the day last year but she had it all done in the dr's office and she was awake :crazy2: I couldn't even watch when they but a needle in her eye to numb it before the surgery (some support team I was :sad2:) I almost passed out:faint: she is one brave woman :) .

She was lucky because she had to just lay in bed on her left hand side and since she always lays on her left hand side it was ok for her. Please make sure you sleep laying flat on your stomach like the dr said and try the best you can because this will make your eye heal so much faster :) My mom regained all of her eye sight back from that scary day and I do hope the best for you too pixiedust: Can't wait to meet you on the podcast cruise!!

Good to hear from you Kevin...I hope you continue to improve with each passing day!

Even though I'm sure you're not laying on your stomach looking at the computer and following this thread, I have to also chime in to say that I am thinking good thoughts, am glad to hear from you, and will continue to hope for a full recovery!

We missed you and John last night in chat!

Kevin
Val & I hope the healing process goes well for you.

I know that two weeks sounds like a long time, but just take it one day at a time and it will be over before you know it. Really, that's what those of us who have 100 days to go before the PodCast Cruise are handling it. Some better than others.

:cheer2:

I am so glad to hear things went well and you are home recooperating. Many people here have some great suggestions about making two weeks on your tummy a little bit more endurable, I hope you are able to take advantage of some of them. I would definitely be pushing for the massages, myself. ;)

We love you! :grouphug:

Continued wishes & prayers for a speedy recovery! So glad you are doing well. Now, let me see if I can find a French Maid's outfit in John's size! ;)

Glad all is well. The recovery is the worst. Hence my suggestion for plenty of pain meds just sleep through it. LOL. Good Luck and we will miss you while you are gone. Keep us updated if you possibly can. :)

Kevin-

I know where you can get this great podcast on our iphone to listen to!

Get well soon! We miss you!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thanks for the update. :goodvibes I really want to echo what Aaron said. Thanks for being in our lives. We love you. :goodvibes

Here's hoping those 2 weeks go quickly. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

While you are recuperating you should listen to the Harry Potter series on Audio book. You'll love it and hopefully it will pass the time a little faster. :goodvibes

Take good care of him John. :goodvibes Lots of special treats. :goodvibes

Kevin! I just want to say I'm glad everything went well. Just take it easy, and relax and you'll be back on your feet before you know it!

Kevin, this makes me happy and sad all at once. I hope you have as enjoyable of a recovery as possible. Hugs my friend.

Kevin,
You are in my thoughts and prayers. My dear father had this procedure done (actually twice). We got a massage table, different types of memory foam and air pillows to put under his forehead, and a TV on the floor pointed up. He ate small light meals, as digestion is difficult lying on your stomach. It was a difficult time, but so very necessary to promote success. I wish you the best.
