I had TiW from the very beginning to the very end. It was okay, but what I really wanted was to see the QS restaurants included somehow. The discount didn’t have to be the same as TS, but I actually eat more QS than TS so I didn’t use TiW as much as I would have.
I think that ship has sailed though. The dining plans weren’t as prevalent when TiW started, so it was the only way for a lot of people to get a discount. With the discounts they offer now outside of the dining plans (AP, etc.) it simply isn’t necessary from Disney’s point of view.
We loved TiW and purchased it for many years. Still miss it. Doubt we will ever see it come back as the restaurants are busy and don't need it. Same as the food and wine pairings for the Food and Wine Festival Doubt those will ever come back.
Josh has been in charge of parks and resorts for years now and could have easily brought it back. I think Disney is happy with the standard Annual Pass, DVC, and Disney Visa discounts.

All true. Too bad, though. TIW included alcohol, was 20%, and also included valet parking. With valet parking now >$45 when you add the tax (or >$50 when adding tax and gratuity), I don’t see that ever happening. We always valet park the rental car when we dine at the Grand Floridian (usually at Citricos), since self-parking is so far away. It’s just part of the meal cost for a special dinner.
