or is it your wife that gets scared at hhn?
hope she doesn't scream in my ear like a little girl.....:rotfl:

mac, would you mind sending me any info you receive on the RIP tour? Mike and I will have to figure out what we're doing, but we're totally considering the RIP tour as well. It would be nice to do it on Sunday so we can do HHN at a relaxed pace that night as we're going over to pixie land on Monday to meet friends at EPCOT.

so far there are 5 of us that can do the same tour on the same day.
bonny, lee, jodie, mike, mac

come on and sign up with us homies.......we will have such fun !!

Phil from PA, another eastern PA Disser! There are a bunch of us within a county or 2 of each other. I used to work near Akron, in Rienholds, at the Post Office there. We have our own little gang here on the Dis :)

I could look it up, but I am too lazy right now. Where is Bernville? We live on the PA/NJ border, across the bridge from Lafayette College.

Macraven, hey you!!

I have never stayed onsite at Universal. But you talked me into doing HHN in 2005. I did it, and loved it even though we got rained on with Wilma passing through. Ok, well. I was going to stay at RPH. August 23- 27. total was going to be 940 for just me alone. Before my other family came down. For free dining at Disney. But, then, you posted this about HHN. So, I was thinking maybe i should skip going in August and try for Oct 24-28. I think it goes up to 1075 the stay. Again, I think i will be alone. Which im terrified of. Just cause I am a scardey cat. But, i really want to do it. My question is this, what is the best rate I can get at that time?? Can I apply aaa, where do I book, or is it better for me to buy aph even though i wont be able to go back until probably next year. Help me please Mac, I am confused!!

I'm just north of Reading, about 10 miles or so. I drive into Reading to work everyday. Bubba's Mom is in Exeter, which is technically part of Reading, as it has a Reading Zipcode (I have to know my zipcodes, I work at the Post Office ;) )
Where are you in relation to Raritan NJ? I was in a band :rockband: back in the 90s and we played at a place called The Raritan Manor all the time. That was around 90 miles from Reading.

I also played at the Larry Holmes Commodore Inn, which was in Phillipsburg NJ, how close is that to you??

Not much of an update but Express Passes are now available through the main Universal Site .

The prices have also been changed.

Non Peak nights are $35.99

Peak nights are $65.99

HHN newbie needs advice. I thought the tix wouldn't be on sale until August, so I thought I had more time to research....anyway I didn't realize it gets so packed. I have a choice of Sat or Sun (1st weekend in October) which night should I choose and I would also like to know if I should buy the express pass and what exactly does the express pass get me??? Is it worth it? And one more thing do I have to buy right now or do I have some time before it gets sold out?? So for so many questions, I'd appreciate any info anyone can provide.:)

We're not exactly experts on this but we have been going for a number of years now and we'd definitely recommend the Sunday night as opposed to the Saturday. Even Sunday nights have gotten pretty crowded in recent years but they're still nowhere near as packed as the peak nights (Fridays and Saturdays).

If you're only going for one night and want to see all the houses the Express Pass is almost a necessity. What it does is give you access to the express lines one time at each of the houses. I might get lynched for making a Disney comparison but HHN's Express lines are similar to Disney's Fastpass lines. We always get them and have never had to wait in line more than a couple minutes to get into a house when the regular lines have 60-90 minute wait times (on peak nights I've seen the wait times go up to 3 hours for a single house). Personally I think the pass is well worth the money.

There's no rush to get them. Many nights still have Express Passes on sale the day of the event.

Hope this helps :thumbsup2

Excellent advice. This will be my fourth HHN and I agree that if you want to see everything in one night, get the EP and go on a non-peak night...if possible.

Ah, about 1.5 miles from me! Actually, the Commodore Inn became a Holiday Inn became a Clarion, which was recently knocked down, and the last rumor I heard was that it was going to become an Ace Hardware store or something welcome, since the Lowes and Home Depot are both pretty much across the street.

Phil from PA, another eastern PA Disser! There are a bunch of us within a county or 2 of each other. I used to work near Akron, in Rienholds, at the Post Office there. We have our own little gang here on the Dis :)

I graduated from Ephrata and my first wife was from Adamstown and I lived their for a while. Went to PSU - Berks for 2 years.

What dates are you down this year? I am arriving Wed night Oct 10th and staying at RPR. On the 13th we leave RPR and I have a house rented in Kissimmee and my parents, brothers, nieces and nephews are coming down for the 13th thru the 20th. Maybe we can meet for a drink if you are still down. I will probably be doing the RIP tour on Friday the 12th. I need to call and get it set up.

I'll be sitting pool side Thursday the 11th at RPR, touring parks on Friday morning, poolside Friday afternoon, traditional pre HHN drinks and meal at Margaritaville then onward to terror.

This is our 9th straight year coming down for HHN. RPR and HHN are my relaxing time before I have to be the tour guide for the 13 other people in my family all week at WDW. Looking forward to Int. Wine & Food Festival at Epcot also.

Anybody want to team up for the RIP on Friday the 12?

It can be hit or miss on who you get in your group.

We're supposed to be coming down Oct 19th, but not %100 on that yet, should hopefully know for sure in a few weeks. If so, we'll have to meet right before you leave. I'll keep you posted!

:yay:
Hey - I'm here too......little further south and east than you all - think Philadelphia International Airport, but still within an hour of each other.

Jodie - are you northern NJ? Which bridge?

DRJTBC, but I think there's a few of them for the Delaware, right? -- anyway, I'm right across from Lafayette College. :)

Disboad needs to create a map people could zoom in and find out who is within the area (Voluntary of Course) - maybe not to the street level but to county level. It would be interesting to see where all the little pushpins would be across the US and the world.

Mike, I leave Sat the 20th and we will be in our house in Kissimmee at that point. Keep me in mind though and let me know.

phil,
there is a thread titled, where are you in the UO forums that has that map.
i think it was Bubba's mom that created it.

i have tried in the past to keep it on page 1.
think i will try to bump it up so you can see it.

it would be nice to have that frapper map for the dis but universal homies have one in place for the UO fans. of course anyone can post on it and i encourage all to do so.

maybe i can put up a frapper map for those planning on attending HHN so this thread does not turn into a meet thread.

if anyone out there wants to create the HHN frapper map before me, please feel free to do one. i won't be able to do one until later this week.

for some reason the Where are you thread i can't find.

i listed a request on the something is nothing thread for someone over there to help me.

what i will do is make a new thread called maybe, HHN, where are you and when will you be there, type of title.

on it i will put up the frapper map where you can list and have the push button to show your location, city/state only and then each that want to can list the dates they plan to attend HHN in a regular posting style. no one has to list their location for the push button map. they could only list their dates of attending hhn and if they want to meet others.

that way we can find other dis-ers that could make plans and meet up with each other. it will be easier for all of us to contact other posters that plan to attend hhn prior to going. also, no one would have to read back on these pages on this thread to find out who is going when.

wow, HHN meets .............wouldn't that be grand !!

i have to wait for bubba's mom or anyone else to let me know how to set this map up first. when i get the info, i'm gonna do it.
