HHN Never again...

I just returned from 10 days in Orlando and I thought this years HHN's were just ok. nothing special. disoritorium (sp?) was not the best house in my opinion. I liked hellgate prison alot better. I was really disapointed in the parade. it was so short, if you blinked, you would miss it. I noticed lots of people with beads though. I have a grocery bag full of the beads at home so didn't bother bringing back any more. the crowds were the worst bunch of people I have encountered at HHN's EVER! disrespectfull people smoking in lines and no, the CM's would do nothing about it. they just stood by and let it happen. last year I saw the CM's tell people no smoking, but this year they just let it go. I saw so many drunks and half naked people and hardly anybody spoke english. It was weird. I wondered how and where these people came from...
Bill and Ted was better than last years I suppose, but was as raunchy as ever. they ran out of t-shirts (or they say) and DD didn't get to get one. but I bet some will show up later on e-bay. Hmmm,
well, it was something to do. I suppose. on the way back to Disney one night (resort) we saw a horrible car wreck on 1-4 I really hope nobody was drinking and driving back from HHN. I wouldn't doubt it by the way people there were acting.

ALSO, went to The Holy Land Experience, AND LOVED IT!

I went on off-peak nights which included October 10th, 14th, 24th, and 31st. The 14th turned out to be more like a peak-night (not sure why), but even so, it wasn't a Friday or Saturday. I had a GREAT time each time I went. Definitely try going on a non-peak night...especially earlier in the month. It makes a huge different (there was a big enough difference between the 10th and the 24th, for instance).

Sorry to hear some of the things Universal employees had to deal with. Imagine sitting by a group of drunk guys at the Bill and Ted show? Ai ai ai...I got more embarrassed by THEIR comments than the jokes in the show!!

Hey Clare..we were there on the 14th too! Had I known you were going to be there, I would have tried to meet up with ya! I was told that there was a private event on the Studios side of the parks, that is why it ended up being crowded, the Studios side opened up at 9pm. I wasn't too happy about that since I bought my tkts thinking it was going to be an off-peak night.

sarahluvsdisney, from your name it sounds like you are a huge Disney fan. I too like Disney, but at least USF gives us something DIFFERENT each and every year with HHN. Disney, on the other hand, charges us an arm and a leg for the same old Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party every single year. They NEVER change it. Just recycle the same old stuff they used the previous year. No haunted houses, not even family friendly houses. Just a parade and special fireworks show.

Props to USF for getting creative, giving us originality every new year, so we have something different to look forward to. Disney needs to take notes on this.

Glad we did it once but would not do it again. The field of dreams was excellent- my kids had a blast walking through there. Love the chainsaw guys.

My biggest concern was the amount of alcohol being sold. I have no problem with drinking in moderation but this was getting out of control. We left around 11 before things could get out of hand. Where I work I am personally responsible for the amount of alcohol someone drinks and actually have to take a course in "smart serve" so how is that Universal can let so many people get hammered and not be resposible? Just curious.

Sorry, but I'm a new poster on US/IoAF what exactly is HHN? There are a lot of abbreviations not listed on the "Abbreviations" page. (not just this one).
