HHI VS Vero Beach

Good Morning!! DH and I are considering heading to one of these for Easter Break 2011. We have 2 kids who will be 9 and 7 at that time. I thought about going to Calif and doing Disneyland, but the cost is somewhat prohibitive. What can you tell me about these two resorts? Also, what's the likliehood of getting a room at past 7 months...

Based upon past years & what I have been reading here on these boards recently for Easter 2011 it will be extremely difficult for you to get a reservation at this point as you are at < 7 months and, also, there aren't many studios or 1 bedroom villas at HHI resort. You may have better luck at Vero Beach but that can even prove difficult at less than 7 months during Easter break.

Good luck & of course, you can always give wait list a try if what you are hoping for isn't immediately available.

HHI has a bigger and nicer beach than Vero IMO. There is more things to do and more resturants at HHI than at Vero. At the time of year you want to go you will have a chance for better weather at Vero than HHI. It can still be kind of cold at HHI that time of year. I am not sure on avalibility but call right at the seven month mark to maximize your chances.

I can tell you that if you're looking at HHI for the third week in April, NOTHING is available on the 20th or 21st. We're currently waitlisted for those two nights-MS didn't have any room tyoe available when I called last week.

Thanks!! I got a ressie for Vero. HHI didn't have any studios available.

That time of year Vero will be your best. The weather will be great and the water is clean and beautiful. The water in Hilton Head is brown and the weather is just ok that time of year. Be happy you did well.
