*HHI Owners and Beach Lovers Group Thread*

Also, very exciting news -- our points loaded this morning, so we are *officially* part of the Hilton Head family! I just booked December 22-24 for a quick Christmas getaway, and we are so thrilled. It's the exact same nights we stayed last year when we fell in love, and there really is nothing like the holidays on a Disney property. Huzzah!
Welcome home! And as Hilton Head Thanksgivingers since 2006, I agree that there's nothing like the holidays at a Disney resort.

Welcome Home!

I will add you to the owners list on page 1.

Hello! This is HHISand’s daughter and I’ve always wanted to do a mini trip report so I thought I’d do one here.

We were recently at Hilton Head five nights and overall had a wonderful time! We weren’t able to check in online (they said a lot of people have been having this issue with their server), but we got our room pretty quickly, quicker than last year when we did check in online. Does anyone else who has done both recently know if there is any correlation?

We did the buffet one morning and it was pretty decent for the (Disney) price. Good bacon and eggs, decent potatoes and pastries, Mickey waffles got a little less crispy the longer they sat but still good. The cast members were highly advertising the Hispanic heritage buffet they’re doing Tuesday nights this month (and it’s great pork chops) but we decided not to do it. There’s also an Oktoberfest celebration/buffet on Saturday that we unfortunately were unable to attend. We were happy that the lemonade and cookies are back from 3 to 5 (not sure if I’ve seen anyone else post about that).

We did the naturalist scavenger hunt which fun, and you get some key chains and magnets at the end! Took us (three adults) a little over thirty minutes with one hint but it might take longer with small kids. We also did four trivia and won three of them (my first time winning, was a long time coming). For anyone like me wondering what you win, it’s either a bag of fidget toys or a dole whip coupon (and you don’t get to choose). A nice cast member gave us more dole whip coupons so we felt loaded! Apparently maybe at some times of the year “pool games” can mean more trivia so if you like trivia like me keep that in mind.

We went to WiseGuys for dinner which is one of our favorites, they have an early bird special but the 10% discount (for staying at Disney’s Hilton Head) apparently does not apply to it. We also went to Nectar Farm Kitchen which was good, has huge portions and very fast service. We also went to The Cotton Exchange Tavern in Savannah (pretty good) and Bubble Berry (great for bubble tea/smoothies).

So like I said overall a very nice time! Let us know if you have any questions :)

Let me see if this works… I apologize for the poor quality and markings! Also for anyone interested in the island tours they were mostly full when we checked so they recommended calling ahead to book them!116AD614-C847-443A-A8DB-C851EF02C416.jpeg

Congratulations!!! We just became members in August. We love the HHI resort and look forward to our first trip in March as official HHI members.

After seeing the new track, I'm very nervous about our trip starting this weekend. We are supposed to arrive on the island on Saturday. Just hoping HHI doesn't get a lot of damage. We've already cancelled our four nights at WDW that were supposed to begin today. Do you think DHHIR will be open for business this weekend?

Please keep us updated on your experience at dhhir.

We are visiting in october as well.

With the hurricane warning just posted I have been wondering what they will do. Have had to evacuate from HHI before and not really fun. We don't have plans but my family has a house on island so always watching.

The SC governor stated today there are no plans to evacuate. The storm continues to move north. In fact, as of right now, HHI is barely in the edge of the cone.

I'm feeling a little nervous about what's going to happen. Signe's Bakery, where we always get our Thanksgiving meal so we're on her Email list, just reported that she's going to be closed tomorrow because of the storm. She's been on the island for 50 years, and hasn't closed very often (although I'll bet she did for Matthew!)

I just noticed that the Walmarts in Bluffton and Hilton Head have closed their grocery pickups until Monday. We are now planning on packing our groceries since I'm not sure there will be anything on the shelves. I say a lot of businesses will close tomorrow just out of precaution. I'm still feeling confident HHI won't get any damage.

Everything closed for Matthew. There were mandatory evacuations, so businesses could not be open.

I finally broke down and called the Disney resort. They are not allowing check-ins on Friday and Saturday. Right now, we will be allowed to check in on Sunday, but that could change if they have damage. I sure am hoping to know something by tomorrow night since we plan to head out early Saturday morning.

I just added a studio to the end of our trip. We are now planning on leaving Sunday morning instead of Saturday morning and still have a 5-night vacation. This gives us a little cushion though. It will be hard to move from a 1-BR to a studio that last night though!
