In order to get my son-in-law to agree to go to Hilton Head, I promised to go deep-sea fishing with him, and maybe our oldest granddaughter too. He's especially interested in a shark fishing trip one evening. But we wouldn't want to charter a boat just for the two or three of us. I'm sure it would cost too much.

Does Disney offer any help in help in getting members together for this sort of thing?

This website had about as much info as any I have seen for Hilton Head:

There is a large marina right next to the resort and I would think the resort could recommend a fishing boat. Good luck.

We recently visited HH, and I believe that one of the trips Disney itself offered was a shark fishing trip. I heard a Dad crowing about the trip to another guest. I guess he and his sons had a great time!

My family did the dolphin tour and loved it. Disney's own boat was booked -- we had a time scheduled but got rained out -- and they recommended a local man and his boat. So I am sure that if Disney is not offering the type of tour you want, they will certainly point you in the right direction. The resort is surrounded by a marina -- you'll have your pick of boats!

Have fun. We LOVED this place!

We booked our shark fishing trip thru the activities shack. This was a small sport boat that went out in the bay for 3 hours. Caught 8 sharks up to 80 lbs. My girls are not fishermen but the captain was very nice and patient. Great experience.
