How difficult is it to book HH during the month of April at 7 months? Is there a room size that goes faster than others?

DH and I were talking last night about possibly looking at a quick trip to HH during my Spring break in April 2012?

We would probably do just a studio as the most it would be would be 3 of us but something to get away from Syracuse after a long winter.

We would probably go on the Monday of whatever week we had off (or Spring break fluctuates every year) and return on Friday.

Any thoughts would be great?

I call at 1pm day of my 7 month window. I was flexible w/rooms and I am still on the waiting list. the week before Easter. Good luck.

DGC's spring break is Holy Week this year and we called right at the 7 month mark for a 2 bedroom and are still on the wait list. Apparently when it's not around Easter, spring break time is possible at HH at 7 months, but this year it's not the case.

Thank you. I figured if it revolved around Easter it would be tough. Unless Easter is really early, our break usually revolves around that time.

It is April 8th in 2012 so maybe we will get lucky and the break won't be at that same time. If that is the case, we have a chance.

The other option may be to seek a transfer to get 11 month window.

Our Spring Break is always the first full week of April. For 2011, it is April 3-8. I called at 9am on the first day of our 7-month window and was able to get a 1-BR for all 5 nights:banana:.

After reading all the posts here about waitlists and the resort being booked solid for April, I am wondering how we got so lucky:confused3. This will be our first trip to HHI and we are so excited! I told DH that he better not want to ever go back. He asked why and I told him that if he wants to go back, we will have to do an add-on there because it appears to be nearly impossible to get in at 7 months:laughing:. Just when I thought my ploy to get more points worked, he replies with, "Well, we got in this year didn't we?". DOH!! Back to the drawing board:lmao:.

Since I couldn't get my family in for this year's spring break, we did what we "had to do", we bought a resale at HHI!

Like Bobbiwoz, we also couldn't get in at 7 months for a studio the week of spring break for a studio so we had to waitlist. Since we're not tied to school vacations, we're doing the following week (starting Good Friday) and had no problem then. But. also like Bobbiwoz, the difficulty at 7 months just "forced" us to buy a HHI resale!

So, Simba's Mom, we have lots in common, not just being happy grandmas and math teachers!:goodvibes

Thanks for sharing. What we will probably do, if we decide we want to try, is see if it happens at the 7 month mark. If not, we will wait list until our banking window in January.

I don't think DH would ever let me add on there until we have a chance to stay at the resort.

That's what mine keeps saying too. He doesn't want to buy sight unseen because he's not sure he will like it. We have a Feb UY so I was trying to get him to buy 35 points NOW (since we have the cash) and then another 35 points next year. That way, starting in 2013, we'd have 140 points EOY or 210 points every three years. That would definitely cover a spring break trip, or even a summer trip. I even pointed out that if we buy 35 points and then find out that we HATE HHI and never want to come back (yeah, right:lmao:), we could still use those points at WDW. It's not like they would go to waste;).

DH and I spent a weekend there for cash one Halloween weekend. The CM's had a "trick or treat" path for guests, there was a campfire, we met Shadow, we biked to the beach, and all in all, we knew our family will just love the place. I wouldn't have bought it sight unseen either!
