We are thinking about renting a grand villa at Hilton Head. If you have rented a grand villa, I would love to hear your thoughts. Was it worth the extra points over a 2 bedroom, how are the views, if any, and anything else you care to add? Thanks.

It depends on your situation. For us, we pefer getting either 2-2 bedrooms or a 2 and a studio. That gives us more chances of a little privacy.

Now the GV is very nice and I have only had wooded views. on a winter trip the fireplace is very relaxing.

Patty,

I have not stayed in a Grand Villa at HHI, however, I have been there about 15 times and have had the pleasure of touring a GV. I have not rented a GV due to the views. I dont understand the thought process of your very best room having the worst view. None of the GV's have a Marsh View. There are some with a Marina View, however, you have to stand on the front porch to view it. I would suggest taking the 2 bedroom units.

We've stayed in GVs at HH the past 2 years and will again this summer. The villas are wonderful and allow our whole family to congregate - we'll have 6 adults and five kids there this summer.

The views are mostly "island" views, but there is a GV in building 18 with a view of Broad Creek ("marsh" view). There are a total of 5 GVs at the resort and none are HCA.

Enjoy!

Thanks all for the information. I was able to book a GV for three of our 4 nights and I am waitlisted for the first night. We are going the end of May. I do have a 2 bedroom unit for the 1st night. It is good to know that there is one with a marsh view, I wish there were more with that view.
