Hi everyone. I haven't posted in such a long time, had a pretty bad year. But the new year is here and Disney vacation planning has resumed! We have a week in a two bedroom at HHI for the first week in April (Spring Break here). We have never been there and I am wondering if any of you could give me some suggestions as to which building if we want to put in a request, weather at that time of year, places to eat, is a day trip to Savannah and or Charleston do-able, activities at the resort (kids are 17), closest golf courses, etc.

Thanks for any and all suggestions and HAVE A GREAT NEW YEAR!:woohoo: :woohoo: :cool1:

Hi,

DW and I were there over thanksgiving weekend. We stayed in the Live Oak Lodge and had a blast. We were right above Big Murggie's Den and basically it became our living room by the end of the trip. :happytv: If you want to be close to the pool and mercantile, one of those buildings would be fine. Some of the activities going on there were dolphin tours, kayak tours, campfires, ghoststory telling (B'lou Crabbe is great at it):scared1: , and Goofy Bingo among others. Savannah is 45-50 miles away and is very doable as a day trip. Charleston can be done but is 100 miles away and the roads are snakier to get there. There are many golf courses there which include a Robert Trent Jones course. As far as restaurants go, there are many to choose from. Many chains are there but a lot of independents are there too. There is a good seafood place across the entrance bridge from Disney along with some shops. We mostly got groceries and used the kitchenette. There is a piggly wiggly close to the resort along with a mall. The weather should be pleasantly warm (70s-80s). Have a good trip.

Last year, we stayed in Bldg. 25, and I wouldn't choose that one again. Our balcony had a view of the back of the slide and little else. There may be other 2 BRs in #25 that have a better view, but ours only looked at the rear of the slide. We've also been in 18 and the building next to the lodge and liked both of those locations. Can't help you with the weather question, but there are plenty of great places to eat on the island. Signe's is great for breakfast or lunch. We have enjoyed the Old Oyster Factory on all four of our trips and also liked Marley's Island Grill. Have a great time on your trip and enjoy the planning!
