HH, 2BR, FRIDAY nite in August at 7 months? Good chance?

I have 5 nights booked and want to add Friday night but I can't until the 7 month window. I have found really good airfare but I'm afraid to book on the chance that I can't get Friday night. Since it is a higher points night, should it be okay? I also plan on booking Saturday night on cash, which I am guessing shouldn't be a problem (PLEASE tell me if I am wrong here)... any advise would be appreciated.

It depends on when in August. If it is early August you may have a problem. If it is mid to late August you should be fine.

Oh. I might have trouble with it then since I was looking at Aug. 12/13th. I guess this is going to be a nail biter and I better wait to book. I just hope the airfare doesn't go up too much in the next 3 1/2 weeks!! Thanks for the input.

Since it is premier season, cash availability may not be there yet. Did you call for a cash rate through MS? Why not try and book both Fri and Sat on cash just so you can make your air reservations; sometimes cash nights are available before the 7 month window. Also, call CRO and see if you can book the two nights through them. If you can book through CRO, be sure to note the "linkage" of the CRO reservation to the MS reservation on both reservations.

Then try to get Fri. on points later and drop a day from your cash reservation.

Mid August is the time when most schools is the South go back in session, thus many resosts, like HHI, can see a 'few' less reservations. My guess is you should be able to get what you want.

I'd use the waiting list and book individual days. This has worked for me. Good luck!

I think you'll be fine if you call right at 7 months.

I just (today) called and got a cash reservation at HH in a GV - (with the DVC member discount ) - for the July 4th weekend. We already had reserved 5 nights on points. (Rate is $532.50 for the GV with the discount.) It is already inside of 7 months for those dates.

Since 2BR villas are the most plentiful at the resort, you will have the best chance for that room type- especially of you call right at 7 months.

alot of southern schools have been going back at around July 27 to Aug. 5 time frame. THis has hurt costal economies by the 100's of millions. NC just passed a law saying schools can't start until the end of Aug. the school systems say that wont work. Anyway, I think you should buy the tickets and try your luck. You could always stay at a cheap hotel for one night. IF your flight is in Sav. You could stay there. and visit the riverfront. And eat at Lady and Sons. (Paula Dean from Food Network place) but you should go ahead and reserve that place now to.

I've been able to change our spring break trip to July 17-20 in a studio. I called yesterday and was able to get the first 3 nights, called today and picked up the 20th, and will call in the morning for the 21st. I was surprised I was able to get a studio in the summer, but so happy I was.
