Hey Ursula and other '80's babies, something else is back!

Minnesota!~ Mon~Chi~Chi's are what I was referring to in my above post, I spelled them wrong, I guess. It was a t.v. show about cute little monkeys. Other than that, I can't remember...I feel so old...lol!
:o

I love Hello Kitty and I'm glad its back! :)

I've also seen Rubik's Cube back in the stores!

" Mon Chi-Chi, Mon Chi-Chi....oh so soft and cuddly.....";) What a flashback!

I loved the care bears! How neat they're coming back!

No, the stuff doesn't bother my roommate at all! She gets a kick out of it. And it's not like it's on her side of the room anyway. 80s cartoons are really popular with my age group right now. And how is decorating with kids stuff any worse than decorating with Disney? I have a handful of Disney posters up to. I don't care what people think- I'm stuck in childhood and proud of it!

Hey Goofygirl, Hello Kitty never left. For as long as I can remember, everywhere I went had Hello Kitty. :) I never did care for it, but Hello Kitty is older than I am, and I'm 23! LOL

Care Bears are back? I'm going to have to get one. I got one for my cousin when she was born in the late 70's. When DS was in kindergarten, he noticed that the pre-k teacher bought her class Care Bears. He was crushed that he couldn't have one.

I can't believe some of the stuff that is coming back!! WOW. I remember Rainbow Brite and Cabbage Patch kids being big ones. One year for my birthday I came home from school and my mom had re-done my whole room cabbage-patch kids. I saw Popples at Target the other day and tried to convince DD (age 1) that that was the toy she wanted. Nope, she picked a little people playset. Oh well, there's always Christmas!

i love the care bears! :)

and i think my mom has my jem doll somewhere in her basement. LOL

Jem was the bane of my existance for a time LOL

Caity - American Greetings has bobble head Care Bears for $12.99 and all their Care Bear, Strawberry Shortcake and Hello Kitty stuff is buy one get 1 50% off :D

I had to get a gift yesterday and I couldn't get over it :D

thanks jenn. hmmm... i see shopping in my future. LOL

*jumps around, waving her hands and making chimpmunk-like noises*WHOOOHOOO!
I used to LOVE Jem...I even downloaded the themesong from Gnucleus so I could listen to it over and over again.I have the Carebears Movie II(The New Generation...could never figure THAT out since they looked, acted and sounded just like the ones in the very first movie..never made sense..anyway)and Carebears in Wonderland movie on video.
It kinda makes me wanna get pregnant even more now so I can decorate the baby's room with this stuff. We were at an antique store the other day and I almost...*almost* broke down and bought a really cute Carebears crib mobile.
I remember when you had to order Cabbage Patch kids from the factory and my sister got very upset because she wanted a little boy baby with no hair and hers had a little yellow patch of fuzz in the middle of the top of his head. She got a pair of scissors one night and chopped it off!:p I still remember mine..she was a little girl named Rebecca Diane with long red braids, green eyes and freckles. I also now wish my mother hadn't sold my "Smells Sweet' Baby Strawberry Shortcakes doll...the one where you pushed on her tummy and she breathed a strawberry scent out her mouth.Yum.
Popples!WHOOHOO!I almost bought a vintage one at a garage sale and DH was like "Why do we need that?".Teehee.:p

I am so glad all this stuff is coming back.I was in Hot Topic the other day and they had little notebooks with Jem and her enemies..the Misfits.
80's rocks!
Hey does anyone else remember the show "Wildfire" about the magical horse and his little girl who wass really a princess?

While its nice to be stuck in childhood, there comes a time when you have to come out into this hard, cold world of reality. Its called getting a job, paying bills, the daily grind, while you may have time for retreating into your childhood, you have to come out of it too. Unfortunately there comes a time when we all have to grow up and put our little pony's back on the shelf.

I remember that they brought back Voltron and some of those Transformers for awhile. Not sure how they did. BUt I loved those toys as a kid... And I think I read somewhere, they'll be making a Thundercats movie? or new cartoon series?

:)

It is very cool that they are bringing it all back - for our kids. I would go nuts to have it in my house for myself though! Just think of the clutter *shudder*. I was young once, and that is when it was ok for me to have all that. Now, I am an adult, and think that kids should be allowed to have it, but it looks silly on anyone else :) Same goes with Disney stuff *ducking*. My SIL has her whole house done with Eeyore/Pooh, and I have to cringe everytime I go in there! It looks RIDICULOUS!!!

Just MHO. Hope I did not offend too many people.

I do think that it is cool that the 80's are coming back in - just that the toys are for the children :)

I have to fully agree with A kid at heart..

I have to disagree with Minnesota and A kid at Heart. I don't see anything wrong with adults collecting toys and enjoying nostalgia from their childhood. If it makes them happy, so be it.

I pay all my bills, my CC's in full each month, don't smoke, rarely drink, never did drugs and collect toys. Is there something wrong with that?

There are plenty of worse things adults could be into besides buying toys for themselves.

I LOVE this thread!

I loved Jem, Strawberry Shortcake and She-Ra- Princess of Power....:D

omg! i was obsessed with those as a little girl! !hehe!

rainbow bear is the best! :teeth:

I have 3 of the Carebears now...Grumpy Bear is what I nick-named my DS.;) He is 19 now, and took his with him when he moved.:( I bought another one, the pink One, at a yard sale for 3.00! I was thrilled!:p

I totally agree with Frollo27!

I have to say, though, that my 5 yr. old DD told me the other day that, and I quote, "Mom, you need to GROW UP! You're not a little girl anymore!" Then she proceded to tell me that she would gladly take my newly acquired Stitch stuffed animal off of my hands! ROTFLMAO!! Sorry to say, I'm not growing up anytime soon, and she won't inherit the Stitch for quite a while. (Don't worry, I plan on getting one for her soon!);)
