I'm checking into SuperShuttle, there's been a lot of good reviews on the DL thread.......let's it for 1,000+ posts!!! Whooopppppeeeeeeee :cool1:

I'm back at work - I am happy :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Now, it is time to get serious about July....thanks for checking on
SuperShuttle, JoAnn.....My husband told me to start booking a shuttle
service (want a private one) - keep us informed. And, also on the "meet" -
saw your thread on the Disneyland board......the only day we couldn't make it is Thursday - thanks again for all your doing.

I'm starting to think this cruise will be so different than cruises from
Florida....DISers saying how cold it is, how choppy the waters are,
their reports on ports.....oh, well, a new adventure.

Lucy

:wave2: Hi All...........

I had a bummer of a weekend. We went to the Reds game and somehow my brand new digital camera disppeared from my bag that I carry. It might have fallen out of the bag at the game or at the sports bar that we went to afterwards. I am so upset. DH had given it to me for Christmas so I could work with it before our big CRUISE! I hadn't even downloaded some of the pictures of my kids end of the school year stuff. I did have my name/address/phone/cell phone, etc inside, but no one has called. I checked the lost and found with the Reds and the hotel, but nothing! I just wish the person who found it and liked it enough to keep it will just send me the cards so I can have my kids memories. We had just had our family picture taken the weekend before with JOHNNY BENCH, my DH childhood baseball idol!! :sad2: DH is really bummed too. I guess I need to stock up on film now before the cruise. I can't justify buying a camera for myself after losing a brand new one. :guilty:

Anyway........Welcome back Lucy! Hope you had a great time at WDW! I have booked a limo for the trip to port........ I am surprising the kids as they have never been in a limo!!! :goodvibes

I need to get DD6 and I some pirate gear. DH was Mr. Smee at MNSSHP two years ago, so he is doing a repeat performance! DS11 was Hook that year, so DS8 now can wear the costume!! DS11 is the tough one.....too cool you know? But, I will work on that one! pirate:

Jenny-I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your camera. That's the worst. I too lost a camera once and it had special events on it. I left word at the hotel and I think in the end whoever "found" it ended up keeping it. I just can't imagine doing that especially with someone's camera that has their precious pictures in it. Today we went to Disneyland (what a ZOOOOOO) and I had my DH's new digital camera with me and I was so paranoid, it was actually stressful (but the pics were awesome). Well, I'll keep my fingers crossed that it might still show up. Pixie dust your way..... :wizard:

I'm so sorry for you - not for the camera, sorry, but for the memories. :sad2:

I just read on another thread how someone lost ALL their pictures
on their digital camera but accidentally pressing the wrong button
on their camera and wiped out all their pictures. :badpc:

I do NOT want to use a digital camera - we just bought one but I'm
still too old fashioned and would rather carry around the old camera,
but I know I can lose the film too.

Lisa/Liz: any 'earth' movement lately? :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Advice (girls) - I would love to buy a striped shirt (red and white or
black and white) for pirate night but I am NOT a body-type that should
wear stripes! what other suggestions do you have? I will have black
casual pants along. pirate:

Hi Lucy,

I don't think we have had any significant earth movement around here in the past day or so. I am hoping that my writing this doesn't somehow jinx us and bring the "big one" on :teeth: I didn't even feel the last one, I was shopping and they were jackhammering in the middle of the store, so I didn't have the joy of experiencing that one. It is getting hot here now and we are ready for school to be out!! Only 3 more days :)

If you are wearing black pants, you could go with a white shirt and then get some bracelets or necklaces or something to accessorize?? Do they give out bandanas?

I have had the misfortune of deleting pictures from my old digital camera. We were at Sea World and with the touch of a button, I wiped 'em all out. I won't make that mistake again :sad2:

Jenny--Sorry about your camera--hopefully someone will do the right thing and return it to you.

I have a question about the KTTW cards--can you set a limit on the kids cards?

Have a good day :earsgirl:

On our trip to WDW, DH was reviewing the pics in our digital camera and he wanted to check how much memory was left on the memory card and he accidentally deleted all the pics we had taken to that point of our trip (it was the end of day two) which was 150 pics. He didn't tell me until the next morning because he knew I'd be upset. We were there for my DS bday and all he wanted to do was have breakfast in the castle with Sleeping Beauty (he was in love with her). So, I did the get up at 4am thing 90 days before our trip to make the ressie. We got the ressie and he celebrate his birthday in the castle that morning for bfast. All the princesses left kiss marks all over his face, so cute....all this was captured in those pics. Well, when he told us of his accident my son started crying and then I starting crying and the youngest started cry just because we were crying. Needless to say, Dad was very sad too. Such is life! :sad2:

Anyway, the shirt I got has very narrow stripes (because I don't normally look good in horiztonal stripes either) so it doesn't look too bad however it's not a shirt I'll wear again except for another DCL cruise (it was only $8). You could wear a black shirt, black pants with a red sash or a red shirt with black pants. You could also get a neckalace from www. ustoy. com (no spaces). It has pirates on it and it's only $3. I ordered one (along with other things for my son) and it's cute...cheap but cute.....so there are my pirate thoughts. pirate:

The earth has not been moving recently, so I think all has calmed down, for now. :goodvibes

Liz - I don't think you can set a limit but you can have them issued
with no charging privileges (at Guest Services) - our 13 yr. old loved
the arcade a little too much...and the games are expensive. His
card will have NO charging privileges and he can use one of our cards
to charge arcade cards (after he hands us his Disney dollars, which he
has been saving for this purpose). :ssst:

THANKS for all the ideas about the pirate dress ideas. Great minds you
girls have.....

Once again, I don't want to use the digital for vacation - these
stories really scare me because there is nothing more precious then
looking at the cruise pictures, over and over again.

Jenny - Sorry about the camera. That is awful. I was strictly a print girl until my DH bought me the Canon Digital Rebel for Christmas. I love that camera!!! I can take tons of pictures and print and scrap what I want. It is nice to see what you are getting right in front of you. That way if you take a bad picture you can take it over. So many times I have taken bad pictures with my 35mm and can never get them back. I haven't touched my 35 mm since Christmas.

For pirate night, I have been looking into those peasant type skirts. I have seen a few for under $20, I am thinking of going with the "gypsy" look. White peasant blouse and colored (what color??) skirt. Also, lots of big jewelry. I am going to check out that website. www.ustoy.com and see what they have. Last night I was at the dollar store and picked up a set of 3 pairs of silver hoop earrings for $1. The biggest one probably fits around my ankle, they are huge, but appropriate for the occasion. My DH wants to wear one. LOL.

It's so nice to know that this trip is a little over a month away, I can't wait. I am not going to try to compare this to the other Disney cruise we were on in 2001, it is a new adventure to new places in new waters. If we all go with an open mind, and don't listen to everything we read, I am sure we will have a great time. Any vacation is what you make it, and I know that when my family is on vacation, we always have a good time, by making the best of what we have!!!

While I am not Lisa/Liz, you can check out the latest here:
http://quake.usgs.gov/recenteqs/Quakes/quakes0_fault.htm

I too am not the body type to wear stripes; I plan to wear black capris and a white blouse (men's dress shirt style) with a colored tank top underneath it. I will be picking up some "accessories" at Disneyland during the summer. If any one needs some accessories, let me know!

Sure has been quiet around here lately. Thought it might have been the 110, 111, 115, and 113 degree heat the last four days. Summer has arrived!

Our oldest daughter (Jenna - 5) has her third dance recital on Friday night. The last two years were cute, just cuz they were all so little. This year, she has added tap to her ballet and she really is putting on a show. She has been extremely busy the last few weeks trying to dance for everyone who will watch. Which includes around the piano area at Nordstrom - quite the sight.

We have a real question for any of the west coast folks. Have you ever done one of the 3 or 4 nights on RCCL or Carnival out of SoCal? We are seriously thinking about doing this in early September. We haven't been away from the girls for one single night in 5 1/2 years! It is time to have some alone time for just the two of us. We celebrate 16 years together in August and want to do something. We can't think of anything we haven't done at least three times in the Socal area. The only other thought is maybe Rocky Point. Any thoughts??

macbaby, Lisa, Liz: everyone ok? (fires).

macbaby: I thought the same thing, about falling off the first page -
I was going to write yesterday, but didn't want to bore everyone -
told 'ya - I can always talk! Everytime I go on the chat meet board, it
is someone from NEXT year....come on everyone - keep this board
alive!

Leslie: you totally deserve to get away! We have sailed RCCL
before and really like that line. Have never sailed Carnival. We were
actually discussing returning to RCCL again, if Disney continues to raise
their prices (although the entire family LOVES Disney cruising). My kids
have never been on another line.

Lisa: how is the visit with your dad?

My DH was in a Party City store yesterday and said they had pirate
accessories - we'll be going there this weekend....i do believe we don't
need to buy bandanas. We have 'tacky' looking beads from New Orleans
(my DH and DS were there on a music trip) - maybe I should bring them too.

Lucy

I checked with Super Shuttle and they told me you just get the shuttle when you get off the plane. They also said they didn't provide transportation from hotel to port. Finally, they said you arrange transportation from port to airport only 24 hours ahead. How can we do this on a ship? I'm not too happy with this place. I'll keep checking around! :smooth:

I've heard some bad things myself about SuperShuttle
I'm "almost" booking with Golden West Express OR
Limos.com (you get all kinds of quotes, free) - just a little more
than Golden West....

Leslie-I haven't done RCCL or Carnival 4 days out of Cal but I did do NCL years ago and it was a great short trip. I tend ot not like Carnival in general-we did the Caribbean with them and it was a party fest. I have several friends who've done RCCL out of Cal and they just loved it. I guess it depends what you're looking for. Like Lucy, I really love the Disney concept (although I would prefer another line if I were without children) but their prices in the last year or so have really jumped very high. Anyway, enjoy your daughter's recital tomorrow night! Little girls in their dance costumes are the sweetest.... :lovestruc

JoAnn-in addition to Lucy's shuttle suggestions you could also try PrimeTime Shuttle. As I recall they're in the passporter guide as well.

Lucy-My visit with my is going great! We've had a great time, although it has gotten rather hot here lately. He had plans to golf, etc. but it's been too hot. He's made it to the golf course once and Mark will take him again on Saturday. He leaves on Sunday :sad2:

Joann I looked up companies on limos.com and then used the toll free numbers of companies provided. The times you put vs. the prices are not comparative. You need to really call direct and take lots of notes! I have one that really "dogged" me due to a misquote. After giving me another "descent" price, they all of a sudden didn't have any available that day. I asked for a manager to call me, but after three weeks of no call, I am thinking a "shady operation".

I cannot fathom a shuttle right now. Too many "Mears Fears" remain in my mind from past WDW trips. Like stopping 8 times before my destination (no kidding either!!!). I would be a nervous wreck!!! :rotfl2:

Lucy I missed you while you were gone!! :teeth:

Lisa/Liz/mcbaby (can't remember your identity ~ I hope the earth settles down out there soon!!! I think of you guys often and pray for safety for you and your family!!! :grouphug:

Bill???? Is your dad hiding again JoAnn?? He's a stitch!!!! :rotfl:

Leslie - We did Carnival out of NY last year and we hated it. It was probably one of the worst cruise experiences, lots of problems. I even wrote them a 3 page letter when I got back, but they really never addressed the issues. I have heard that RCCL is a better way to go. I will never cruise Carnival again. HTH.

be honest with me - I'm ready to call Limozip.com but if THAT was THE
limo company, please let me know ASAP....PLEASE

Lucy~ I sent a p.m. to you.

Anyone else who is thinking limo and wants the name, I can p.m. you. I don't feel comfortable posting the name since it is not a "happy camper" thingy!!! :rotfl2:
