Hey! July 30,2005 Cruise to Mexico Reunion Thread

here i am - 7:30 Tuesday morning
lots of chores today, including a haircut.
Must fight with the home today for my mom - they haven't done her hair in weeks....and she is breaking out in a horrible rash - one of the nurses, who i adore, told me they changed her meds and she has scratched herself all up, especially on her face, I cut her nails last night.
Tomorrow my scary dentist appt.:scared1:
Thursday my even scarier prep for my colon test on Friday.:scared1:
As you can see, girlfriend, I'm glad when it is Saturday!:scared1:

Tyler is so bored he is driving me crazy - he definitely needs a job this summer...I suggested he start his homework - was not a good suggestion, apparently.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

When will the blog be updated?:confused3

hey everyone.........we'll be leaving tomorrow.......quite a whirlwind trip....we have been taking pics but they're on several cameras, so i hope to blog the trip but it will take quite an effort.......dad did get up for fishmarkt but it was at about 700am not 5am.....it was more of a flea market and it was so much fun!! Weird that jenny knows about fish sandwich with the tail, i never saw that before....

after lynn and keith left we headed off to berlin for the day......very long car ride (we should have taken the train...live and learn) it was cold but we got to see checkpoint charlie, the remnants of the berlin wall and branchburg gate.....it was very emotional for the older folks b-c we all remember the wall and the fear of communism and the stories of people being shot escaping, etc.....it was very cool to be there and see it.........unfortunately, the kids did not have any understanding for all of it, since the wall came down when they were very little.........we were beat after that.....

so tuesday, we finally saw taras apartment and school........she won three awards this quarter and only about 10 seemed to be given so she did very well considering how difficult it has been here.............

then we shopped til we dropped in hamburg.....the euro is tough but there was alot of stores to check out ....shame tracy left!:confused3 .....

today we went to luneberg to check out a small german town, they had a huge fresh food market in the center of town, we also went into a beautiful church, very cool and moving:cloud9: .....they we ate in a german cafe, it was very good and alittle different, the foods and trying to order from the german waiter....at one point he referred to a woman server and she gave him the finger right in front of everyone..........:confused3 things are definitely different here!:scared: Too funny!:rotfl2: .....more stories to follow, miss everyone.........we will be home tomorrow!!!:grouphug:

Congrats to Tara:cool1:  :yay: :cheer2: :flower3:
not surprised, though....ALL those Lawall girls are VERY talented, just can't figure out which side they got it from!:confused3  :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

The Berlin Wall - yes, I would LOVE to have seen where it stood, looking forward to those pictures:hug: My dad was in World War II, but when he took my mother and myself to Germany we did not visit Berlin, but in those olden days it wasn't as safe to visit Berlin as it is now.:sad2:

The woman server gave HIM the finger, just like being in our house:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1
joking

Because it is ALWAYS about Lucy and making HER happy, I'm glad you are coming home....Jenny is home:love: , you are coming home:love: , now I only need to get our friends the Becks home (Saturday) and I'll feel better. Cathy DID call from WDW today - was about 89 degrees, with a breeze. She did say it was very crowded. She and her husband took a group of kids to WDW for robotics competition (at University of Central Florida) - the kids left today, they stayed and have a few days to relax.:yay:

Cancelled my procedure on Friday, instead i'm having dental surgery tomorrow:sad1: :sad1: WHATA WEEK. I also got an e-mail that my 3 days of jobs the week Tyler goes back to school were cancelled...bad day.:scared:

Thank goodness that i was able to get on the airport internet...........HB to marshall..........we are waiting for our 240 flight to JFK....it should be a long day, 8 hour flight, so far on time......yes the weather was very cold here, we regret not going warm on spring break...we will from now on....:goodvibes

Sorry, im afraid im going to run out of time......keyboards are different in germanz, the y is where the z key is so its a little confusing and the punctuation is in a different place.....yes, berlin was something to see, its very sad....we didnt see the south germanz area so i guess that is a different trip.....looking forward to coming home.......verz tired todaz, i hope i sleep on the flight.....love ya, lu, stop going to the doctor!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<hello to everzone else, talk to zou soon!!!:lovestruc

in flight - just wait till she feels this cold air and winds...although she didn't have the best weather in Germany (OF COURSE I watched HEr WEATHER)
i'm really loopy - the anesthesia from the dental extractions hasn't left me yet...wonder who will have a better sleep tonight - joanne or lucy!

Welcome Home:hug: :grouphug:

Welcome Home:hug: :grouphug:

Thank you, thank you, we're home, but dad is still driving, he insisted on going home tonight so hopefully he'll post when he gets there.

New rules, NO MORE TRIPS IN COLD WEATHER FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE! Germany was amazing but I really have to blog the trip, there were many funny anecdotes....for example, Germans are the meanest people I have ever met. (Of course, we also met some really wonderful Germans, too.) When you're walking down the street in the big cities, they walk very fast and sometimes into you, but if you accidentally walk into them, they make facial expressions and one of them pushed Tara out of the way. So cranky! It wasn't like that as much in the small town we visited....the people were wonderful there.

I think I lost weight on the trip, between the subway and walking all over the place, I could see why we didn't see any "heavy" people. No, I don't like the "currywurst"...gross! In the end, I found two Italian restaurants that we really liked......:thumbsup2 Sorry, Lynn was taken to one of them (she already knows, it has to be pizza!)

I'm really happy to be home..........apparently, the Germany experience was really tough for Tara and she was very grateful for our visit. The language is very different from ours and there's a lot of "fahrts" and "asse" at the end of all the words. I now know where all our curse words have come from.

So what's everyone been up to this week? Did you have school Jenny? Yes, the wind was horrific today when we got here, but it didn't affect our flight at all.:woohoo: Sorry, Lu:grouphug: stop going to the doctor......so glad to be home...talk to you soon!:cloud9:

So glad you guys had a great time!:thumbsup2 Yeah, I am in a family of Germans and whew! They are so different from my little English Great Grandmother who was so pleasant! So, when does Tara officially head off to England? I cannot wait for the blog! I am sure you felt a little like I did when we decided to do Arizona over Key West. It was nice in AZ, but 80 is more my kind of temp!! I enjoyed exchanging a couple of emails with Alice this week. You learn something new. Mary Kay....I used to dabble in that too!

Well, as Lucy and Alice already know, my day yesterday was quite memorable. I was sitting at my desk working when I looked up and one of my little girls fall over in her chair. I jumped up and lifted her head. Her eyes were rolling and she clutched her chest. Because she had had open heart surgery a few years ago, I feared the worse. I picked her up and carried her (running) to the nurse's office which is about 100 yards from my classroom. When I laid her down, she came to and was very clammy and sick at her stomach. They ended up calling for an ambulance to take her to the hospital. Before she left she hugged me and told me "I love you"! I totally feel apart! In the meantime, my back was KILLING ME....of course I hadn't even thought about that! So, I had to file a workman's comp claim and headed out to the docor and pharmacy. I spent a little time at the hospital before coming home and taking the meds...they knocked me flat on my a*%!

Thankfully she is alright. They aren't sure what caused the "episode" but is following up with her pediatric cardiologist soon. She came in this morning happy and hugged me again (the kid is killing me!). She is the sweetest most adorable little girl anyway. But, she is also timid and shy, so for her to show that emotion made me feel even more emotioal myself!

So, basically Lucy and I slept yesterday away........funny how we do things alike!:rolleyes1 Both Dopey!!!:rotfl2: :flower3:

Oh so all this happened yesterday........so scary, please let us know how she is........yes, we were very quiet here today! I'm going to bed early too......Tara is supposed to go to London early April, she has an apartment and she's working on her bank account......hopefully Europe Round 2 will go smoother.......I need her camera to make my blog, so it will probably be next week! Night all!:tilt:
