***Hey, Hey! Come right in and plan, OFFICIAL OCTOBER 2017 thread!!!***

I am planning a whole day at DAK, which we haven't done in ages. I am thinking we will do breakfast or lunch at Tusker House. I'm seeing ROL in April with a Tiffins dinner package so I'll decide then if I think my little kids will enjoy it and it's worth spending time at or doing the dining package again. (But with Tusker House.) I am really curious about Pandora, even though I'm not a fan of the movie, and this will be our first opportunity to check it out so I will likely want to use FastPasses for that. I don't know though how our day will go yet. If we finish earlier than expected we'll hop over to another park I guess. I am wondering though if Pandora will give us enough for the day.

Going October 9th to the 14th - Grand Floridian

We are celebrating my parents 60th Wedding Anniversary so I encourage any suggestions and/or advice to make this trip extra magical! Whoo hoo!!!!

New to the forums. Excited for our trip in Oct 7-14 at POR in Royal Rooms! It's our 1st family trip (daughter will be 7, son will be 5, daughter will be 3). We're also taking my in-laws, so it will be a lot of fun!! We got the Dining Plan as well. I'm excited and hope I can keep my excitement up. I'm sure this thread will help! :mickeyjum

The anticipation is ALWAYS so crazy! But WDW is NEVER disappointing!

Just keeping us on the first page, closer and closer!

Any other trips anyone is going on? We leave for Dollywood in a couple of weeks. We are staying at the Dreammore Resort for 4 nights. Our first time there, looking forward to it!

I am taking my nephews for a few road trips this summer to see our Cubbies! Looking forward to those trips ALMOST as much as WDW in October! ;);)

I'm trying to think about dining reservations and park plans. Of course nothing firm, but toying with eating at the following:

T-Rex (6 yo is obsessed with dinosaurs right now so we would do this on arrival night. We're on the dining plan and will likely pay OOP for this.)

BOG Dinner (request from 6yo who learned to eat grilled cheese so he could eat here on the next visit)

Tusker House breakfast on DAK day

Then one day we'll do DHS in the morning and the Halloween party in the afternoon/evening. I thought about Sci Fi for lunch, which we've eaten at before, but I'm not totally in love with this idea. Could do breakfast at O'hana or Kona or no sit down this day. Or maybe lunch at 50's Prime Time. 6yo would like that actually as long as they don't harass him about veggies.

Halloween I am thinking lunch in Epcot or dinner on the monorail somewhere. Tossing around Narcoosee's or CA Grill if we don't do a sit down the day before. Or maybe lunch at Coral Reef, Rose & Crown or Via Napoli. I feel like lunch might be easier since we want to do the Halloween activities at the resort, but we are also prone to lunch at Tangeriene Cafe in Epcot. I need to think about this day, especially since there will be F&W festival going on and DH and I will probably eat there so we may just get the kiddos some nuggets at a quick serve for lunch.

Or check out day doing breakfast at O'hana or Kona. (I feel like we should take advantage of Poly restaurants, but my 6yo really won't eat anything at them except at breakfast.)

I also toyed with doing Halloween dinner at H&V because of the characters in Halloween costumes, but then I don't really want to give anything else up for an overpriced meal that would be mediocre at best for the characters?

And I can't find a time for our normal Crystal Palace breakfast. Ugh. I need a longer trip! But this is just a quick let's do Halloween trip so I need to focus on getting the Halloween things done! (I say this, but I will be there for the next week for W&D so plenty of time for me, just a quick trip for the fam. And my goal will be no repeats for W&D week.)

Add us to the list! I'll be staying at the Poly from 10/21 - 10/28. I think I've bitten off more than I can chew though. I'll be playing vacation planner and tour guide to my family of four along with two other families of relatives (including several first timers) who are all staying offsite. I'm considered the expert in the group even though this will be only my second trip as an adult (so no pressure or anything). Trying to coordinate ten people is no easy task! Thank goodness for these boards!

Yay! New Adventurers! :welcome:

Happy to have you all! Please use the first post to find some links to great websites that might help you plan.

And then ask away! It's a helpful group. :)

Just an FYI - the dining plan prices increased today, in case you were on the fence.

We'll be at Animal Kingdom Lodge (Kidani) from 9/30 to 10/5.

I can't believe the dining plans increased again. They already seemed so expensive.

Two questions:
* Would MNSSHP be worth it with a 5 year old and a 2 year old? I'm assuming I don't need a ticket for the 2 year old, correct?
* For ADRs -- any that MUST be booked 180 days in advance? (Like as soon as they open at 6 am)

Thanks!!

Only just found this thread - we booked last July! We will be at POFQ 17-27 October. We've included the QSDP for the first time - intend to pay for 3/4 TS meals but with two littlies we want to be as fluid as we can be!

Really anywhere you want to be guaranteed a time and location I would recommend ADR's you can always cancel or change nearer the time. The first time we went we thought we'd just walk up but we soon realised that wasn't possible.
Have you booked a dining plan?

Ooh, I love to talk dining!

Tiffins - If I ever do a sit down meal at AK other than Tusker House, I'd give this a try! I plan to visit the Nomad lounge in May...not sure if I'll do Tiffins then or not.

Overall, I think this is a great list! My October trip is with my mom, her first visit, so we'll be doing a lot of "first timer" type places...CRT and Ohana for sure, and I'm still thinking about the rest. I think she'd enjoy Cali Grill. I'd like to try for a fireworks view with that one to give her the "wow!" We're staying at the Poly, too :-)

Yes, Nomad's is a must.. They have wonderful hugh couches outside.. Great for relaxing with a drink outside..

Hi there... love these "official planning threads" Thanks for starting it.
Please put us down for Oct 30 - Nov 3 at POP. Dh and me love the food and wine festival!

No kids so can't speak to that, but for ADRs - Be Our Guest, O'Hana, Cinderella's Castle, any character meal that is important to you, any signatures that you may want to time seeing the fireworks, basically anyplace you want a specific time and can't really budge on I would make sure I book right away.
