My Hubby has an aunt that dosn't use deoderant either because she believes it causes cancer. She told me this as she stood outside in my garage puffing away on her fourth cigarette for the night! :rolleyes2

Anyhow! Thank you all for your input. While I was doing well with the Roll-On Mitchum, I think it's time to switch again! Uggg!

If anyone is intrested...The target in our town has Mitchum gel buy one get one free. Looked like a good deal to me. They are prepackaged from the manufacture....so it's not a Target sale...but a promotion from Mitchum.

I'm a fan of Dove...but also found that in really humid weather Degree for Women works wonders!

Okay just one additional thing to keep in mind. Sweat by itself doesn't smell -- it's the bacteria on your body (which when moisture is added) gets the funk party started. Like many posters I found my deoderant was letting me down mid-day but I found one solution which changed that. I changed to showering with anti-bacterial soap. A squirt of dial liquid and quick sudsing of the offending areas allows my deoderant to keep me un-offensive for a much greater length of time.

Very good point! I've been using anti bacterial body wash for years however.

For the wetness part of it, I'd try using Certain-Dri. You put in on at night and it really does a great job stopping wetness. For a regular old deodorant, I like Adidas. It works well and has a light smell, not too overpowering.
Certain-Dri is GREAT stuff, but beware if you have sensitive skin. I have to use it VERY sparingly and about once a week, and NEVER EVER after shaving, or I'll scratch like a monkey all day!

In the morning, I use Arrid XX Dry. I've always had an issue with being sweaty...

Antibacterial's are good on occasion but...I do believe some of the bacteria you are killing off might be keeping you healthy. The body is sort of like an apartment complex. If good tenants leave you don't know if the ones taking up residence next will be good or bad. I don't think I'd shower regularly with an antibacterial (another post)...I did try it for a little while and yes it works quite well.

I also switched to the crystal roll-on because I've discovered that I no longer sweat very much from my armpits...something I find to be a bit disturbing...hate the idea of such a radical change in the old bod.

Mitchum unscented clear gel (not the Mitchum for women--I've never tried that). It works unbelieveably well.

I love Dove....it doesn't irritate my skin....and like the commercials say..."armpits to underarms in 7 days!" It really works...

I myself also switch every couple weeks from secret to dove, I found that switching everyone once in awhile stops me from smelling like swamp thing lmao

I've had a problem with perspiration ever since I was pg with our 3rd child. Nothing seems to help. One of my girlfriend's had a similar (but much worse) problem, and her dr. gave her some sort of prescription antiperpirant. When I mentioned my problem to my gyn. (Don't ask me why, but this was incredibly embarassing for me!!), he just laughed at me. Not very helpful.

I haven't read the whole thread...just peaking before I go off to sleep but I've been having a perspiration problem too, deoderant helped a bit but the whole damp armpits thing was driving me bonkers...I found some antiperspirant in my local CVS drugstore called Certain Dri it says it is "doctor recommended" and "prescription strength"...you use it before going to bed (not after showers or shaving) and it has been working quite well for me...

I am allergic to aluminum, which is in all store brand deoderants such as Secret, Dove, and Sure. I cannot wear any of them! The only place that I buy deoderants is in health food stores because they sell natural deoderants. I am currently using Tom's Longer Lasting Deoderant in Apricot scent. I was not too fond of the scent when I first bought it, but the deoderant works great! I have not had any problems during the day. Also, there is a manufacturer named Jason, who sells aluminum free deoderant. It is a strange allergy and I have tried every brand of deoderant on the market that has aluminum and nothing else works. I recommend Tom's deoderant.

I used to use Secret, and it was fine for years. But as others have mentioned, after having a baby, I would sweat a lot more, and Secret wasn't cutting it anymore.

So I switched to Dove and it's been so nice. It's smooth and feels so good, and has really helped me tremendously.

I was amazed that switching a product can do that.

I tried the crystal and Adidas deoderants. Neither of them worked for me, but they did claim to be Aluminum free. Just and FYI, there may be a few on the regular market since you last checked...

I haven't read any previous posts...but..
I prefer Secret Platinum gel... I have also tried Dove (since I use all their face/soap/ and shampoo products and love them) but I find Secret Platinum gel works better for me.

I switch between degree, dove and secret. I have deodorant all over the bathroom. I love using different scents.

I've tried a lot of them over the years, but my favorite is Sauve Baby Powder Scent...it seems to work the best for me.
