Hey Disney, please get rid of that awful______

Any and all audio-animatronic based shows should be on the "marked for eventual extinction" list. Talking and singing robots may have gone over really, really big circa 1950 to 1970 but they look and sound really lame now. And the scripts and songs are really tired, not appealing, not clever, not catchy. If they can't be removed and replaced entirely, then I would aim to revise the script and music AT LEAST every 5 years.

I tend to agree here, at least for the attempts at animating realistic people. I know that attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean and Hall of Presidents are either too popular or too historical to get rid of, but I've always found them to be creepy because of the uncanny valley problem, which isn't getting better with improved technology but possibly worse. I think it's fine for cartoon characters that aren't attempts at realism, which are getting better with technology (just look at ETWB, SDMT, and the wealth of wonderful attractions at overseas parks that we'll never get over here. :().

Shhh. Would you all please stop mentioning the Treehouse. I have fond childhood memories of seeing it for the first time and dreaming of living in a treehouse. It is one of a handful of attractions I remember from my first visit at age five. My kids all love walking through it and talking about living there. We own the movie.

I'm sure I'll think of more...

And, you go to WDW, why? Seriously, if you want to get rid of all of these, what would you replace them with? WDW already doesn't have enough attractions to handle the crowds of people; if they get rid of more, it will just make lines even worse than they already are.

At this point, what's left in the parks if all suggestions are followed? ;)

I'm ashamed that I failed to list the evil free dining as my first choice- I was thinking more along the lines of attractions.

Get rid of the dining plan or at least stop the free dining offer---Pleeeeeze!!!

I'll restrain myself to just a couple of "must get rid of" things:Any and all audio-animatronic based shows should be on the "marked for eventual extinction" list. So that would include the Hall of Presidents? hmmm Very patriotic

Well, yeah, that's a reality you pretty much have to suspend belief of to play in this thread at all. There's really no reason to get rid of anything that even a few other people are willing to do no matter how much we may dislike it, unless it diminishes other experiences (ironically the chainsaw show may fall in that category).

Personally I'd like to consider the exercise to be one where we eliminate stuff and combine WDW down to two parks instead of four. I still believe they overextended their reach when they went to four parks, and it's showing now that a couple of the parks clearly don't have enough attractions.

Haven't looked thru the thread much, but here's my heave-ho or do-over list, by park:

MK:
- Stitch
- Tomorrowland Speedway. Either modernize it or figure out something else to do with it. It's too big a chunk of real estate in MK for a so-so attraction.
- Once again, maybe its time to re-imagine Tomorrowland. This seems to be the most difficult land to theme and seems to be the only one that constantly needs updating. Maybe its time to re-theme the whole thing.

Epcot: My favorite park, but the one that may need the most help
- Make a decision on Wonders of Life pavilion. Occasional use as, for example, the headquarters for the Flower and Garden show don't cut it. Either tear it down or re-purpose it. Like Speedway above, its too valuable a piece of property for its current use.
- Either come up with a new 3-D attraction or do something else with the Imagination pavilion. What used to be a popular attraction has turned into a walk-by. EO is unwatchable and HISTA has run its course.
- The Imagination Lab was interesting when Kodak was the sponsor. Now its a sad shell of itself. The Figment attraction, while not as bad as its direct predecessor, is still nothing like the original. This whole building needs a re-do.
- For what is a beautiful park, the entrance is awful. Leave a Legacy was a complete disaster and should be removed as soon as legally possible. If the plaques still have to remain, find another place...they take up too much room. Even a nice garden in that area would be a big improvement.
- Somehow move the entrance to Soarin' outside.

DHS:
- Obviously, come up with a replacement for Backlot Tour
- I'm not up to speed on the status of Sounds Dangerous, but that should be replaced also
- Lights, Motors, Action was nice, but it seems out of place and has been there long enough. For only a couple of shows a day, it seems like an inefficient use of space.
- DHS also needs to open up more shows in the morning. It's not until afternoon that the park gets into full swing.

AK:
- Chester and Hester's Dino-Rama is something that shouldn't be on Disney property. Primeval Whirl is fine, but the game area reminds me of games that you'll find at your local carnival, usually ripping off the customer. If they have to have something there, make it free and make the prize if you win a sticker or something.

WOW-what is there that you enjoy. To each his own but I am glad you aren't in the position to close down attractions. I'm 61 years of age and my wife and I travel down to WDW every year. I spent last year there celebrating my 60th B-Day and had the pin on all week. Best birthday ever. We always make it a given that the first nights dinner is at the Crystal Palace to have dinner with Pooh and friends. Get up off yor seat and join in on the Character parade. Cmon, it's Disney. Let go of the inhibitions and become a kid again. The dining plan saves us so much money-I still can't understand the complaints. I will agree with Captain EO and Stitch but how can you not love the music from the Move It parade? When I am getting to the point that I need a Disney pick me up, I'll google the parade just for the music. In another comment someone said to get rid of the All Stars-shame on you. We stay at ASMusic every year and love it. I have stayed at other resorts but we have found a home at ASMusic. Been there with the football players, the cheerleaders, the bands and have NEVER had a bad experiance. Disney World is a DREAM, a place to find your inner child, a place to forgo the problems of the current world and just have FUN. If the kids are bothering you, get up and join them. If it's too loud, make some noise. If the rides bother you, don't go on them but remember, someone loves that ride and why would you want to deprive them of their dream? Our first ride when we enter MK-It's a Small World. Don't know why but we have to go on that ride first. It really puts us in the Disney mood. I'll be there in 12 days (11/12) and have already booked next year (118 days). Remember-you're only as old as you feel and when I see the sign welcoming us to WDW, I'm a kid again. You find a drug that can do that and you'll pass Bill Gates as richest person in the US.

Nemo? No, that's my daughters favorite attraction.

Lights, Motor, Action? No, that's the boys favorite.

Ok, so there might be some people who don't like these particular attractions......but does anyone really believe WDW would be better off without them? They are both pretty good shows that draw significant crowds. While they may not be your taste (a puppet show with music or a car stunt show), you should be happy they are there because other people like them and they draw crowds away from the things you like!

Laugh Floor? Nooooo.......I don't think anyone should be able to opine on that one until they've sat through it at midnight. That show is hilarious when you are punchy!

EO! Ok.....but shouldn't every one of our kids be forced to see that vintage MJ performance once?

Get rid of the hat! Oh, they are....
Legend of......oh, done......

Ok, my real number 1? The Lumberjack Show!

I think you may be misreading the intent of this thread. I think people are listing things that we all could do without, not serious suggestions on what Disney should get rid of.

Here's a thought, instead of criticizing other people's opinions (it's ok if people have opinions that differ!) list your own. If you think there is nothing wrong at all then that's fine too Just because we have a few (or even a list) of things we'd like to improve on or see go doesn't mean we don't like Disney. If I went on absolutely every ride Disney had to offer and every show they had, I would need to stay for a month. Sadly I only have a week each time so with that I limit to the things I really enjoy. I am sure that goes for everyone. It is ok if people don't agree with your lists!

MK
- Swiss family treehouse
- Stitch
- Shooting Gallery

Epcot
- Movies in WS
- Captain EO

HS
- Lights, Motors, Action
- Streets of America
- Giant Hat (already being done, yay)
- Honey I shrunk the Kids playground

AK
- Dinosaur
- Actually All of Chester's and Hester's Dinoland

Hey, Disney, please get rid of that awful notion that standing all day is good for you and for us. My family would gladly stay in the parks all day if it weren't so tiring. Fatigue makes us want to go back to the hotel and enjoy the food/drink we buy off-site, and then go out to dinner off property. Put back some seating -- with backs!

Tomorrowland Speedway. Either modernize it or figure out something else to do with it. It's too big a chunk of real estate in MK for a so-so attraction.
Richmo.....not picking on you, just using your post as a jumping off point. Gotta be careful of the feeling police! I'll throw a word out here that the feeling police won't like. Selfish. Not that I'm saying anyone here is a selfish person. Rather, a lot of the suggestions are self centered. I think that is the wrong approach to take in responding to a topic like this. Why? Well, even if I personally don't like a ride, I wouldn't necessarily suggest it should be gotten ride of. To do so might please me at the expense of many other guests, and to the detriment of WDW. I would never suggest such a thing.

Tomorrowland Speedway is a case in point. One can say it's a so-so attraction, but that is a subjective, self centered judgement. So-so to who? You? Me? That doesn't make it so-so to all the people who like to experience the attraction.....and lots do. The attraction has a consistent medium plus line throughout the day. Ask any boy age 4-12 what their favorite attraction is and a large proportion will say Tomorrowland Speedway. Some girls, too. And it's not just about the kids that experience the attraction.....it's about the fathers that experience it with their kids. Some mothers, too. They do it to see the joy their kids experience, or to share an attraction with their son that they did when they were a little boy. Why would you get rid of that?

Sure, some say update it....but people have already weighed in on the impact the update had in Disneyland. The attraction isn't as good. Yes, in today's green age we should have a hybrid solar powered banana peel fueled race car of the future......but that isn't what kids want. They want the raw (or should I say roar) power of a fossil fueled engine that jumps to life and spits out fumes (ok, update to add flames!) when you step on the GAS PEDDLE.

No, you can't get rid of that........
