Hey Disney, please get rid of that awful______

My intent was to give a list of what I thought Disney could "give the heave-ho to", as stated in the original post. My opinion, and that's all it is, still stands. I think the Speedway is an outdated attraction that takes up a lot of space. You can agree or disagree with it, but I think I have a right to that opinion. I'll also point out that I'm not the only one who picked it, not that it matters. You have a right to your opinion, as well. I may not agree with it, but I'm not going to dispute your right to have it.

I don't buy the self-centered part either. There are plenty of rides I won't go on, such as Tower of Terror or RnRC. Did I suggest they should go? No. Nor would I...they're an integral part of the Studios.

I definitely think (especially for the amount of land it takes up) speedway is one that could be replaced (I can also see an argument for it staying). But the side for it going is that I hardly ever see a long wait for it.

2 - Speedway

3 - Country Bear Jamboree

By the way I LOOOOOVE Captain EO, Im a big fan of Michael Jackson, and I also adore Carrousel of Progress and Stitch :wizard:

WOW-what is there that you enjoy. To each his own but I am glad you aren't in the position to close down attractions. I'm 61 years of age and my wife and I travel down to WDW every year. I spent last year there celebrating my 60th B-Day and had the pin on all week. Best birthday ever. We always make it a given that the first nights dinner is at the Crystal Palace to have dinner with Pooh and friends. Get up off yor seat and join in on the Character parade. Cmon, it's Disney. Let go of the inhibitions and become a kid again. The dining plan saves us so much money-I still can't understand the complaints. I will agree with Captain EO and Stitch but how can you not love the music from the Move It parade? When I am getting to the point that I need a Disney pick me up, I'll google the parade just for the music. In another comment someone said to get rid of the All Stars-shame on you. We stay at ASMusic every year and love it. I have stayed at other resorts but we have found a home at ASMusic. Been there with the football players, the cheerleaders, the bands and have NEVER had a bad experiance. Disney World is a DREAM, a place to find your inner child, a place to forgo the problems of the current world and just have FUN. If the kids are bothering you, get up and join them. If it's too loud, make some noise. If the rides bother you, don't go on them but remember, someone loves that ride and why would you want to deprive them of their dream? Our first ride when we enter MK-It's a Small World. Don't know why but we have to go on that ride first. It really puts us in the Disney mood. I'll be there in 12 days (11/12) and have already booked next year (118 days). Remember-you're only as old as you feel and when I see the sign welcoming us to WDW, I'm a kid again. You find a drug that can do that and you'll pass Bill Gates as richest person in the US.

PREACH it Brother!!

There are a couple of things that I think we could get rid of.

Stitch, I still feel nauseous thinking f the hot dog burp smell.
The Swiss Family Robinson Tree House. With a few alterations it could be turned into a play area, as it stands it's useless.
The Streets of New York area of Hollywood Studios, a bunch of wasted space if you ask me.
Captain EO, I'm sorry I find Michael Jackson creepy I know it's a personal issue but I don't like that attraction.

Fair enough.

I just wish they would create a better ride/experience for Stitch, I don't hate the current one, I just want something that captures the whole vibe of the movie better. It's my favorite Disney movie(and I'm a Chris Sanders super fan) and there's almost no merch and the only place you can easily see Lilo and Stitch now is at the 'Ohana breakfast since they're no longer at AK.

I don't think there's anything at WDW that I wish they'd completely axe, perhaps I'm easy to please.

That terrible, horrible, no good, very bad..... stage in front of the hat. I don't care for that thing one bit, nor do I care for any of the things I have seen on the stage. I miss seeing the theater, but had accepted that the hat was there to stay (guess I was wrong). I can not, however get behind having the stage blocking the hat that blocks the theater. Not okay. And now I hear that the hat is going away or jsut being relocated. Excellent.... as long as the stage goes, too. I see no reason to eighty-six the hat if they are going to keep the stupid stage. I mean, it will block the theater, too, and it will likely continue to host weird musical acts that don't really fit with anything at DHS and just annoy me.

And while we are on it, whatever happened to playing the Disney movie music when the characters came out, anyway? Not it seems that they continue to play the regular music for the theater area. Don't get me wrong, I love that music, but when the characters are out, I used to love hearing One Jump, I Won't Say I'm In Love, The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers, Kiss The Girl, and Hi Ho. Now that seems to be gone. I miss it.

Like a surf-like ride in Adventureland? Or a spaceship ride in Tomorrowland?

I'm a huge Stitch fan (my family REALLY got sick of me saying 'Ohana means family on our last trip) but I cannot stand Stitch's Great Escape.

Also, get rid of Duffy. So annoying.

+1

The ironic thing is one of the primary reasons Walt brought us Disneyland (and everything that followed) is because he wanted a clean, family oriented park where he could SIT ON A BENCH and watch his kids!

He said he was tired of just sitting on a bench watching his kids play; he wanted a clean, family-oriented park where parents and children would play together instead of the parents sitting and watching on a bench.

Jenna - I'd take anything really, even a boat ride, something. Heck, I'd settle for just being able to still see them at AK. :)

You are right, he wanted children and parents to be able to do things together. However, I don't think that made him full-on anti-bench. There should be benches!

Earth, Wind and Fire. Just a joke, Bring back Earth, Wind and Fire, and while I'm at it bring back Davy Jones, of Monkees fame, from the dead, too soon?

But seriously folks. "No snorkel," rules in the swimming pools. No swimming between 10 PM and 9:00 AM. Bring back open swim.

:thumbsup2 Agree. Because we all know they continually extend it to entice more people in the low season. Which -- obviously in turn -- is wrecking the low season and giving Disney reason to increase DVC points or hotel charges. It was always so darn nice to go to WDW in mid September. Sigh.

That being said...to answer OP, I tend to roll with most of what WDW offers until something close is taken away...for me that's is my silly love of Epcot. The demise of Maelstrom is hitting me hard. The only other time I felt sad was when Mexico went with the Donald Duck theme.

Captain EO for sure. Then Dinosaur ride. Please make it into Indy....

Does not fit the thread but make every week Star Wars Weekend....

Hey Disney, please get rid of that awful.....

notion you need to make multiple "event venues" out of old, beloved EPCOT Pavilions which could be updated to still be highly entertaining. I'm looking at you, Wonders of Life, Odyssey and upper floors of Imagination.

That's the story I remember. Walt most definitely did not want to be stuck on a bench watching his daughters have fun. But I agree more benches should be available. My parents' favorite park attraction was eating popcorn and people watching.
