Richmo.....not picking on you, just using your post as a jumping off point. Gotta be careful of the feeling police! I'll throw a word out here that the feeling police won't like. Selfish. Not that I'm saying anyone here is a selfish person. Rather, a lot of the suggestions are self centered. I think that is the wrong approach to take in responding to a topic like this. Why? Well, even if I personally don't like a ride, I wouldn't necessarily suggest it should be gotten ride of. To do so might please me at the expense of many other guests, and to the detriment of WDW. I would never suggest such a thing.
Tomorrowland Speedway is a case in point. One can say it's a so-so attraction, but that is a subjective, self centered judgement. So-so to who? You? Me? That doesn't make it so-so to all the people who like to experience the attraction.....and lots do. The attraction has a consistent medium plus line throughout the day. Ask any boy age 4-12 what their favorite attraction is and a large proportion will say Tomorrowland Speedway. Some girls, too. And it's not just about the kids that experience the attraction.....it's about the fathers that experience it with their kids. Some mothers, too. They do it to see the joy their kids experience, or to share an attraction with their son that they did when they were a little boy. Why would you get rid of that?
Sure, some say update it....but people have already weighed in on the impact the update had in
Disneyland. The attraction isn't as good. Yes, in today's green age we should have a hybrid solar powered banana peel fueled race car of the future......but that isn't what kids want. They want the raw (or should I say roar) power of a fossil fueled engine that jumps to life and spits out fumes (ok, update to add flames!) when you step on the GAS PEDDLE.
No, you can't get rid of that........
