Hey Disney, Get some good musical acts

Air Supply? Really? Most of their fans don't have an Air Supply any more. The only thing worse was Yanni on the Christmas special. Howard Jones, great in the 80s, now in his 80s.

Where's the "Disney difference" when it comes to booking musical acts? Seems like everyone they book is from the "I remember when" tour. I still listen to 80s music, but seeing bands that use to sell out stadiums and are now playing barmitzvahs for $50 a pop is pretty sad. Who's next, Milli (or is it Vanilli that's still alive)?

I love his music too, but I hate the tours by musical acts that rely solely on "I remember when" to sell tickets. If you haven't had a hit since the 80s, you kind of look pathetic touring.

True story my DH before he met me had a job where he traveled putting the card swipe keys in hotels. He met Air Supply in the elevator. He told them really I thought you were dead. Needless to say they were not amused.

They aren't dead, just their careers, hence my beef with Disney booking them.

Threads never stay on topic. That's a fact of life on the Dis Unplugged board.

Also, as you seem to not like the acts booked, who would you book to play at an 800 seat amphitheater in the middle of a theme park, where you show (actually, all of your shows) are included in the cost of admission?

In the past, we've seen some good and some not so good shows.

We had a chance to see Little Richard. While he wasnt the Little Richard of the late 50's, I still felt like it was an honor getting a chance to see him perform live.

We also saw Petula Clark. She sounded a bit rough.

Don't worry, I didn't take it as snarky.

As for who to book, to me I would rather see some original artists, some Disney themed, some not. Get former winners of the American Idol Experience to sing perhaps. It would be a nice prize for them. A weeks accomodation and free park passes, plus showing off their singing talents. Since it's at Food and Wine festival, maybe some food based Disney songs ( Le Poisson, le Poisson comes to mind).

I think the imagineers or Disney could come up with something rather than digging up these has beens. Again, just my opinion, but I expect to see these type of acts at the "second rate" Vegas hotels, as warm up acts for Willie Tyler and Lester, and not at Disney.
