Just curious to see how many DVCers are from Colorado. It appears that most DVCers are east of the Mississippi and there aren't too many out West. (Which makes sense.) How great it would be to be able to drive to WDW!!

We're located in Colorado. I think there's a few others from Colorado on the board as well, or at least there used to be.

We've made the drive to WDW from outside of Denver (Parker actually) a few times. Takes about 3 days if we don't push things (which I don't like to do). Lately though we've usually been flying Frontier (though one time we did fly Delta to Tampa and drove from Tampa - the fare was just too good to turn down). Our upcoming trip (in 12 days) we'll be flying Frontier.

Hi Scott. We are in Littleton. I am so impressed that you have driven there!! We have been lucky to get some fantastic fares into Tampa as well. Now I'm waiting for a good fare for this fall when we head down for the MNSSHP and again next spring break. Glad to hear from another Colorado DVCer!!

Hi ColoradoDisneyFan. We are up in Thornton. We tend to fly, since two young kids in a car for three days does not sound like fun. I can hear it now " Are we there yet", over and over again.

I lived in Golden for four years before moving east...does that count? Of course, I had never been to WDW (only Disneyland) before moving east of the Mississippi. ;)

Hi! I live in Highlands Ranch and have been a DVC member since 1997 and my 'home' resort is OKW. In my divorce last year I got the DVC and he got the boat. I got the better deal, don't you all agree?!

I am going 'home' June 8-13 and then cruising on the Wonder with a newbie to WDW and DCL! I can't wait to experience it all again through fresh eyes!

I also booked the FL-CA repo. cruise through the Panama Canal last week and will be taking my 15 yo daughter who will turn 16 on the cruise. I used cash not my points for that trip. We are very excited about being on the Magic for 14 days!

Glad to see that there are a few of us Coloradoans that are DVC members!

We're from the Springs and usually fly from here. We'd rather spend our (now) limited vacation time at WDW rather than driving. Flew out of DIA once, can't imagine we'll do that again - as we usually go in December - don't want to count on the weather going over Monument. By the time we got to our car, we'd have been home - if we'd flown into the Springs. PLUS we had a hour and half drive after that.

If I remember correctly, when we bought in 1998, there were only 22 Colorado memberships.

I am from Denver, but I have lived in L.A. since 1991. The good news is that my husband and I are moving back to Denver next year! I can't wait to go back home.

I'm so glad someone started this thread! Thanks ColoradoDisneyFan!
We are in Highlands Ranch, also, and just bought SSR this February when we went down with our extended family.
I'm happy to hear someone actually drives from here, Scott! Where do you stop on your three day drive? We have never done it, but just trying to calculate out which travel is cheapest, I think we may eventually go that route (as we have more children).
Do any of your family/friends/coworkers know you own DVC? My family knows, and thinks I am crazy. I have not told anyone else because of their reactions.
So nice to know that there are home-away-from-home neighbors close by!

I'm glad I started this thread, too! It's fun to hear from other Colorado Disney fanatics!! We know of one other family in our neighborhood who are DVC members and we have other neighbor friends who want to buy a resale. We also have friends in Arvada who bought the same time we did (BCV, June 2002). We help each other out by keeping our eyes open for good airfares! Most of our friends and family know we own DVC but most don't understand. The friends who do understand are the ones who have already bought or want to buy. I know some people think we are nuts when we say we are going to WDW again...but I just figure they are the ones missing out!!

Yes, all of my family and friends know. My parents bought into DVC right after we did, sight unseen, went with my exictement and judgement! Then my DB and SIL bought after staying with us at OKW. So I guess you could say it's a "DVC Family Affair"! I only wish that the laws were different in CO because we were not able to get any of the referral gifts from DVC!

It is nice to see that there are fellow DVC'ers so close!
