Last month we spent a week at the Boardwalk and we walked over to the Hess Station for a few needs. I took a bunch of pictures and notes of what they have for selection. I hope this helps someone! :goodvibes

WDW only has Chase ATMs, this might be useful for someone to avoid a charge...

Lots of random stuff. You could make spaghetti (without meat), Mac & Cheese and PB&J...wait, they were out of peanut butter. You could make jelly sandwiches. Or Spam ones.

You might have spied the coffee. The 8-12 type filters are the ones you use in a DVC Villa, but for the regular hotel rooms you need the 4 cup ones.

Some single-size cereals and full box too.

I know this matters to a lot of people!

Only Coke products. And no, they don't sell gum! :goodvibes

Half & Half

Overall, here is what I put in my notes: Hess is a lot smaller than I had imagined. They have a LOT of various chips and a few "healthy" choices like pita and veggies chips. The only fruit they had were bananas that were still green and Red Delicious apples. Boring. No veggies, not even a bag of baby carrots. They sold hot dog buns, but no hot dogs. No string cheese or cups of yogurt. 1/2 gallon of milk was $3.09, it's $0.15 cheaper at the Boardwalk, which was surprising. Soda was on sale, and the worker told me about that, so I got 2-12 packs for just over the price of one. A gallon of water is $1.99. A few toiletry items, feminine products, diapers, wipes, toilet paper, tooth care, hair stuff. Candy bars and other candy-typical gas stations stuff. There was a section for hot food, but the displays were empty while I was in there. One was for hot breakfast sandwiches. There was a coffee bar area too, and they did have a roller cooker of hot dogs. The only juice they had was single-serving style. A lot of things didn't have price tags.

It was kinda strange to see the CM's...in costume...pumping gas and purchasing items!

Very nice of you to post the pics and info.

They must have thought you were a total loon taking pics of their stock, lol.

I tried to be stealth-like by using my iPhone, but I don't think I was too slick...:lmao:

A little off-topic, but I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else:

The Villas have 8-12 cup coffee pots, the regular rooms have 4 cuppers. What do the DVC Studios have? They're kind of in-betweeners. Any help you can offer would be great!

THANK YOU -- I love that people do this stuff to help out others! I would forget to think of it, because I forget a lot of things. :headache:

Great to know for our upcoming trip to Beach Club Villas. Trying to remember where this Hess is located?? If we were to walk....which way do we head?

We stopped here on the way home last time we came down (I bought a Hess gas card at the last $10/$50 Publix sale) and was surprised at how small and skanky it was inside! Can anyone tell me if the DTD and MK ones are as small inside?

They have Twinkies! I'm in my 40's and never had a Twinkie neither has my DW or my DD's. We were planing to take a stroll to Hess to pick up a case water and chips for the room when we land. Now we have another reason to go.

great post and advice. we are staying at yacht and beach club so i guess would be ok for us to get there. can you walk and where is it? also silly question but i guess its cheaper? i suppose i'd want bread, milk and water.
thanks

Sorry for my delay in response here! I've been away from the DIS a lot.

The DVC Studios have 8-12 cup pots, just like the 1/2 bedrooms. :thumbsup2

I have ZERO sense of direction...but if you walk directly out of the Boardwalk parking lot, it's across the street. Sorry, I wish I could be more help!

:lmao: Perfect reason! (Twinkies are....interesting...I haven't had one in 20+ years!)

Water was cheaper, since you can get a case of bottles ($5.99 I believe), or a gallon (just over a buck). Milk was cheaper at the Boardwalk Screen Door shop-but only by about 20 cents. Not sure on bread though.

Thanks for all the photos! I was in planning mode for our August Beach club stay and wondering about the selection there so this thread was great!

Is it in walking distance from the Beach Club? Or is it a distance that you would take a cab - especially carrying groceries? I am really interested in picking up some beer and water - and it is just my son and me. GarenGrocer is not cost effective for us - last year we gave away more food and water we did not touch because I was trying to get to their minimum amount so they would delver beer:)

We are staying at POFQ in July. Since I KNOW the DISers are WAY knowledgable about how to get around on Disney Transportation, how would I go about getting to the Hess Station and back? Or would it just be easier for me to take the ferry across to DTD and go to the Hess station there? I wonder if the selection/price is comparable?

*** Heads up*** The Hess does not sell Pepsi Products:headache: I learned this last year when I went to get Pepsi. Looked all over that place, searched high and low. I finally asked the Cashier where the Pepsi was hiding, and she said that they didn't sell Pepsi  I asked why and she said because it was a Disney thing:confused3. I know that WDW had a contract for Coke products but the thought never occurred about the Hess being in on it too:headache:

I had to go outside of the park to get Mountain Dew, I don't drink coffee so thats my wake up drink. We always take a cab there from WL the beer is much cheaper than only being able to buy 2 at a time for about$4? or something like that.

Wow that is too weird! I wonder how that works. Does Coke and or Disney pay them to not sell Pepsi products? Heaven forbid someone was walking around the parks with an Aquafina bottle in their hands. Or, do you think it's out of respect towards Disney? My guess is somebody payed someone.

I've read on another thread that people take their rolling bags over to the Hess for the heavier items.
