Hertz Back Onsite @ MCO Spring 2010

just got this email from Hertz, a little vague as to actual date; guess once people try to price it out we'll know the official date.

I have never used Priceline before because we like to rent at the airport. If will now be a guaranteed onsite, major rental company (we aren't flying till Sept), I may be convinced to try it for the first time.

Just got off the phone with Hertz @ MCO and they confirmed this! Not that a shuttle is a huuuuuge deal but I much prefer simply walking from baggage to my car. As OP said, there is no official date but I was told "mid-April". Seeing as how we're landing on 4/28, I'm thinking it should be open. Fingers crossed...

Is there an exact date for the changeover? We are renting from Hertz on 4/17 so I need to know if my husband has to grab a shuttle or just walk on over and get it. He will be happy if it is no shuttle! Does anybody know?

when i called last night they said "mid April" if everything goes smoothly. no official date yet...

My husband called last night and asked if he needed to take the shuttle to pick up our rental on April 17th and he was told no that they would be onsite by then. I am not sure if that helps. We are going to be arriving the night before and staying at the Hyatt so my husband is going down to check while we are waiting for baggage claim. I can confirm location when I get back if it isn't already confirmed before I leave.

wonder if the rates will be competitive, everytime i priced @ MCO (AAA usually) very high

Yes they have opened up at MCO. It seems to be going smoothly.

We rented from them this morning and everything was up and running, even received an upgrade! We were in and out and on our way very quickly!
