I need some advice. Which is the better park to do July 4th weekend? Anyone have any idea about crowd levels? Any advice would be very much appreciated.

TIA

Crowds will be heavy both places but personally I would drive to Disney before going to Great Adventure.

Go for Hershey Park:thumbsup2

I was at Great Adventure yesterday :rolleyes1...this is a no brainer... HERSHEY!!

Hershey. It's a cleaner park IMO and more family friendly. Plus we like to do Chocolate World as well. :thumbsup2

Hands down - Hershey! We were there last year for the 4th and had a blast! Enjoy. :)

HERSHEY...HERSHEY...HERSHEY, did I mention
HERSHEY?

just a nicer park

am I the lone dissenter??? I vote for Great Adventure IF you go to the water park too. Hershey Park hills killed me :scared1:

We'll be at Hershey this 4th of July weekend.

As an FYI, the reason we'll be there is because it is the Region 1 Soccer Championships this weekend.

Looking at the host page, this tournament is expected to bring 12 MILLION dollars into the area this weekend. There are 16 states represented, with 2 teams (1-girls, 1-boys) for each age group from U12, to U19.

Soooooooo....You may want to go with Six Flags...:thumbsup2

Seriously, are you out of your ever lovin' mind??????

If you want to pay $$ you can buy a front of the line type pass at GA, but it ain't cheap. I think Hershey might have something like that for people staying on property, but it'll be hard getting a room at this late date and again, $$$$.

Are you sure you don't want to just have a back yard BBQ? We only go on weekdays and in the summer, even those get crowded.

HERSHEY!!!

I live about 35 minutes from Great Adventure. You couldn't pay me enough to go to Great Adventure, even on a non-holiday weekend.

Actually, while that may have been true in years past, the GA NJ park of today is not only extremely clean, but has a lot of very nice, helpful staff that always seem to be around when you need them to point you in the right direction. Also, they've made a big deal out of getting the families back and the gangers out. We had a great time last week and there were lots of families and kids there.

Hershey!!!!

They do not have front of the line passes but if you stay on Hershey property you get in an hour earlier with your room key.

I would get there early bc the crowds will build as they day progresses. We stopped going there on weekends.

She meant to say Great Adventure, I just know it! ;)

Thanks for all the replies and the info about the soccer tournament. My sister is coming down from MA and suggested going to one of the parks. I figured they would be crowded, but told her I'd investigate. A BBQ is sounding like just the ticket.

You will seriously thank me. I grew up in the Seaside area, nothing, absolutely NOTHING is as crazy as a theme park on the 4th of July.

Take the money you save and buy one of those blow up water slides, adults can use them too. It'll be fun all summer!
