Thanks for all the replies and the info about the soccer tournament. My sister is coming down from MA and suggested going to one of the parks. I figured they would be crowded, but told her I'd investigate. A BBQ is sounding like just the ticket.

That's where we are headed down from!! Tell her I'll see her on the road...I guess just not at the park!!!

You will seriously thank me. I grew up in the Seaside area, nothing, absolutely NOTHING is as crazy as a theme park on the 4th of July.

Take the money you save and buy one of those blow up water slides, adults can use them too. It'll be fun all summer!

Island Beach was so beautiful. I haven't been there for 25 years. We used to go there and swim, bay/ocean, ocean/bay. The bay side was icky. lol

My sister still lives up there and I go to visit often.
