Actor Dennis Weaver died from cancer according to his publicist..that makes 3 in as many days..Don Knotts, Darren McGavin , and now Dennis Weaver! :(

Wow - how sad. :( Loved him as McCloud.

Three great actors gone in three days...... :worried:

Wow, that is a lot in a short time frame. Although, I also thought of Anthony Burger as a celebrity that we lost this weekend.

He was only 44 when he died of an apparent heart attack while on a cruise ship.

He probably isn't known outside of the Southern Gospel culture, but those familiar with the Gaither Homecoming series will miss his outstanding piano playing.

The others made me sad but I knew Dennis Weaver and he was a wonderful man. I lived not far from him when I lived in New Mexico and he helped set up an ecolonomics program at the college where I worked. He and his wife were just the nicest people around. I used to get such a kick out of it when he'd call the office and say, "Hey, Amy, it's Dennis." in that McCloud voice. My heart goes out to his family.

Sad to see all three gone. I know this is weird, but I noticed all three's first name begin with a D :scratchin

Wow, didn't notice that. :( My Mom, who died 10 years ago today, Loved Dennis in McCloud. :thumbsup2 His famous saying was "There you go."

Don't forget all those good Gunsmoke shows he also did.

Wow. RIP.

But I feel old. No-one I work with knew who he was. And they only knew Darren McGaven as the father in "Christmas STory". At least they knew Don Knotts!

:(

Don Knotts is forever Barney Fife.

Darren McGavin's "Night Stalker" used to scare me to death :scared: . . . but I LOVED the show!

Dennis Weaver was great as McCloud.

RIP, gentlemen.
