Here's how to see Fantasmic and Illuminations in the same night-I did it!

This is how you accomplish this, and without waiting for an hour for Fantasmic to start to get a seat. Make a priority seating reservation for Hollywood and Vine, or the Hollywood Brown Derby and be sure to ask for the Fantasmic seating package-it doesn't cost any extra and you get seating quite close to the exit on the side. I showed up at 720 and had no problem getting a seat. After Fantasmic walk out of the park with the rest of the crowd and get on the TTC bus. Take the bus to the TTC and then get on the monorail at Epcot. We made it to Epcot by 835 with plenty of time to get a good standing spot for illuminations. This works when Fantasmic is at 730 and Illuminations is at 900.

you can also just walk from MGM to the world showcase entrance of epcot or take the boat (but walking is much, much faster about 15 mins). also saves the walk through futureworld

We did that twice during our November trip... took boat from MGM to WS in EPCOT and made it in time to do TT and MS before Illuminations!
