I've just read through this thread but I am still pretty confused :confused3

I've booked a package - Disneyland Hotel and 5 day park hoppers

Can I just check I have this right?

1. Check in at hotel and recieve my 5 day park hoppers
2. Head to Disneyland Park and present my ticket (any turnstyle will do?)
3. I will be asked to sign my ticket
4. I will have my photo taken
5. I enter the park
6. I can then park hop and return to the parks on subsequent days using my 5 day park hopper without having my photo taken again but I will need to show ID?

Sound OK to you guys?

Yep, it sounds complicated, but it's pretty easy and the CMs are usually very nice and helpful!

Forgive my lack of recent reading. Does it matter if you get there way early? Like..if I'm first in line at a turnstile am I going to be moved to the back of a way long line if they don't have their act together?

Sounds like things are getting better - it will be interesting to read how people make out visiting during March Break - if they can handle the MB crowds with all this new picture taking business then any other time should go well for those of us visiting.

I'm thinking the same thing. Good to hear that the last couple of days have gone well, but I'd like to hear more "they fixed the problem" stories on days with heavier crowds.

"I don't have an AP, but my little boy does. Can we go in this line?"
"I have an AP, but it's not valid today. I'm using a blockout ticket. Can I use this line?"
"Twelve of us have APs, but they have not been activated yet. Can we use this line?"
And so forth...

Just a guess,
Dreams
Loved this... It is so true.

At Christmas, there was a huge backup to entering the bag check area from DTD. They opened a tent for "NO BAGS". I had to laugh as I watched so many people head over there with "just a purse, my husband doesn't have a bag" or "I don't have any bags, just a stroller (with the bottom loaded down)" trying to get through. Then they were out of lone, and people got upset as they then wanted to enter the bag line near the front, and the end of the line was near WoD.

I could have gone through the "NO BAG" line, but I was with my daughters, who did have bags, so why bother. I would just be standing on the other side waiting....

This really irritated me this trip! Lots of time wasted in LINES before we even set foot in to any of the parks. It was ridiculous.

A 4 minute walk from our hotel room to the security line turned into a 30 minute fiasco everyday AND it was a very slow week when we were there. I can't imagine what its like when its a busier season.

We stood in line for bag check for 15 min one day. Inputting our names for our family of 5's passes took 10 minutes the first day. Photos took another 5-8 min our second day. That's alot of wasted time. We were wondering WTH was taking so long when we were waiting in line that first day & when it came time for us we knew why. A few family's in front of us had to do the same thing since it was their first day too. Everytime we had entered or re-entered a park TWO castmember would have to scan each card! One to check your picture & one to put it through the machine. They should really impliment the fingerprints like WDW.

They didnt have a bagless entry on any days we were there. Harbor Blvd's entry had 2 tents open when we were there while the congestion was to the shuttle area. Hundreds of people in line to get through security. It looked like a fire hazard to me. Not to mention the castmembers working the security lines & main entrance were 100 years old. It was crazy. Super slow motion.

Can't see how they're being effective or efficient. :mic:

So sorry this happened to you -- I hope you complained! It's really not ok and Disney needs to know that.

I don't understand why they can't do all this "ticket" stuff outside the park like they do the bag-check. I don't want to waste my first hour of park time waiting to have people check my ID. :faint:

Poor CM's and guests alike, hopefully a better plan will develop and soon for no one likes long lines to begin with much less via the security check, at least no one has to take their shoes off. ;) he he..... well yet anyway, never know......

Coming up next:

TSA type x-ray machines being utilized by DLR security starting this fall. :faint: ;)

Now imagine that one.... don't think so. Although in reality it would prove to be rather interesting I would imagine. So it could be worse, it can always be worse.

~~ I love you Phil and you will forever be with me! Forever my very best and most special friend! I love you to no end. ~~

Exactly. The gathering of names & photos could easily be done at those box offices. I even went to the box office on my arrival day (the day before) to get things like that squared away because I wanted to go into the parks at park opening the following morning. He said 'just take your paper tickets to the front gate & you're good to go.' Lies! Another day, they asked for our IDs and I didn't have mine handy & so they just let us through.

A castmember stopped me on my last day asking if it was okay if Disney emailed me asking about my recent trip so my reaction was "YES! Pease do!!":mic: haha!

Another thing! Is it normal to stand in a FP line for 45 minutes?!

We were here (in the parks sat - mon) this past weekend and had NO ISSUES AT ALL with entry. Picture taking was a breeze, no fuss, no muss. Checking the pictures was a non issue. Lines were quickly moving and efficient. This thread had me really freaked out, and thankfully for us there was really no reason for it. Hope my data point helps others who are reading this thread and freaking out.

With all the conflicting reports - some people ready to pull our all their hair and others saying it was no issues whatsoever - I wonder if it has anything to do with time of day entering the parks - is early morning a nightmare or is it later in the day?

Have to wonder why some people are there the same weeks and some report it is awful and others did not have one single issue - this has to be more than perception? :confused3

I'm here now. Going to DCA today, just for the day. I've never gotten a single day, single park ticket before, and hope it's a simple and quick procedure ;). My dd's and I are mainly interested in camping out at RSR for the day. Hope singe rider ism short, and the ride is open.

I know this is :offtopic: a bit, but anyone have recent (yesterday?) experience in DCA? How were the lines and crowds? Hoping for low levels today!

Enjoy all the magic!! :)

We entered at about 6 pm on Saturday (which is when we had out photos taken, too), opening on Sunday and Monday, and hopped back and forth throughout the day. No problems.

We have been at DLR since Monday and have done early entry every day. We have been in line 30 to 45 minutes every day and haven't seen any major problems. There was 1 family ahead of us this morning and they needed their pictures taken. The cm's phone was having problems and she kept having to get the neighboring cm's phone to take pictures, shop that held us up for a couple minutes. Not a biggee since we were 2nd in line , but I could see it stacking up if that problem continued . Other than that, haven't seen any problems. If we had been further back in line, we might have seen more, who knows!

So happy to hear this! We're going to be there Monday and I was getting really worried too. I'll report back how our experience was when we get back.
