Here now, OMG buses.

You know what is the true disability in this world? Stupidity. It's a very invisible handicap that affects the lives or everybody around the one who has it.

You can have it no matter if you are healthy as a horse or wheelchair bounded. No matter if you are rich or poor.

Stupidity can touch anyone, and there is no vaccine against it.

beware.

My child who is 5, impatient, impulsive, and the king of crying "it's not fair" also thought the scooter/wheelchair loading was completely unfair. Of course, his complaint was that people on scooters had fewer seats available to them, so the scooter line, while shorter, could take much longer. He had a difficult time reconciling the fact that we arrived at a bus stop after an individual in a scooter, but we got on while they had to wait for a second bus because there were not enough scooter seats available.

Why? I have every right to be here and express my opinion just as everyone else who is here spewing their hatred towards me!

Actually, none of us have any "right" to be here. We're here only as long as we follow the rules and behave ourselves.

There are actually mods on this board, capable of handing out points and revoking posting privileges, and they do get around to reading almost everything (even if it appears they're busy with their real lives at the moment).

why did you TAKE the FP if the time was useless to you? There are signs above the FP machines that TELL you what time they are good for, you know, like the signs you want people to read at buss stops about folding up strollers before they board?!!?!?!?

but they get a special handicap parking sticker/placard for a private vehicle....they don't seem to have an issue with the stigma when using a designation like that? why not a special designated bus for them as well?

Skepticism isn't hatred. You entered this thread being critical (of the original poster's action) and confrontational (toward every. single. person. using an ECV - but apparently not any other mobility assistance device and regardless of the need for that ECV). eta: Also, absolutely no mention of anyone legally allowed to use handicap parking but who doesn't use an ECV. So everything YOU'VE said indicates your issue is with ECVs, not disabilities or the disabled as a whole.

Disagreeing with someone isn't hatred. Neither is disbelieving. Your verbal assaults on many of the posters who respond to you posts go WAY beyond defending yourself.

People here are concerned about your level of anger.

I was trying to give you a friendly word of warning you were starting to sound out of control and to take a minute to compose yourself before replying.

We were just in the world and yes there is more 'everything'. We do try to use the buses and do so at odd times. Certain shows like Wishes may push us later into the crowds. We know it is vacation and if we need to be somewhere we allow extra 'what if' time.

We do wait for a seat if the bus is packed. We let people behind us go past. The only buses we had issues with was Downtown Disney. Total chaos with bumping people on turns because it was too crowded.

I do not mind the ECV and strollers, to each is own and there are other options for everyone should they choose. We were however, surprised yet felt a little bad when we were about 5 people deep in a line with it being much longer behind us. The person in the EVC actually said they would wait on the next bus that they had a seat and others were ahead of them. Comments around us were so rude and cheering at the same time. Disney is fun, for all. Seems you see more and more threads and it sounds like a bully or a cage fight of Mickey Rights.

We will be going again in March. We are thinking about using our Van with our Service Dog. Can anyone tell me about the parking. We choose not to use a handicap spot so someone else may benefit. But how far out are the lots etc...

Lol, caps and punctuation are usually considered to demonstrate yelling and emotion. Maybe that is why people THINK you are ANGRY??!!!!

I have no idea how you can read "anger" when I asked originally why the person took a fast pass if she couldn't use it,
I didn't say anger connected to that post, I said critical - basing that on the emphasis on the words "take" and "tell" in the context of the post. Try saying it out loud, stressing rose words, and see how it sounds.

And my ECV posts started off posing questions to the person who mentioned segregation earlier on as I was "skeptical" about how it is not segregation when they get separate parking
As the family member of someone to whom a handicap parking placard has been granted, you should reasonably be expected to know (again) that the entire purpose of handicap parking is to get the person out of the flow of traffic as quickly and safely as possible; that the vast majority of people who meet the eligibility for this parking don't use ECVs; that it's not a perk; that there are strict criteria for eligibility (and that generally, people would prefer to be healthy). You also must know that there's no sticker that qualifies anyone to park legally in a handicap space.

Handicap parking spaces are mandated / governed by laws - things like who can use them, number in relation to the overall number of spaces, size, fines... Some mass transit operations offer a paratransit option for passengers with special needs. Option, not mandatory. It's expensive to use and to operate, and the service isn't always the greatest. There's no need for Walt Disney World to provide separate transportation to guests on wheels. The buses and monorails, and most boats, are very accommodating.

The "anger" comment refers to most of today's posts. It seemed a waste of bandwidth to quote them all, bu go back and try reading what you've posted today, impartially.

Bus ettiquette when standing is to move as far to the back as possible. It's quicker and smoother for everyone that way. The drivers should be enforcing that.

Time to put a certain poster on ignore folks. You can't change stupid folks!

Thanks for that reminder. I've never felt compelled to do this before, so this will be a first for me.

Is your Dad the famous Arthur Ritis? ;)

And thank you for my first laugh of the day! :lmao: Dear ol' Uncle Art- we've become so close in recent years. ;)

You were wondering how people were interpreting your posts as "angry" and "irrational"...?

All caps, misspellings, grammatical mistakes, run on sentences, and overuse of ???!!!! all contribute to this impression.

As well, there's your occasionally less-than-mature manner when it comes to communicating your point (Ex: "ASSume").

thank you, have a nice day because AGAIN I can careless what you think of me.

See it is TOO funny how you all can judge me for my comments without knowing a d@mn thing about my life. Quick to judge are we?!? You all ASSume my life is that of an abled body or has no one in my family with a disability who goes to the parks. Wah wah wah. I KNEW I'd catch you self riteous one out there.

Yes, that's right, you keep going on living you pompous lives believing that you are so high and mighty when YOU really don't know a d@mn thing about what I go through every day! You proved your classiness here and show the world with shiny colors just what kind of 2 faced hypocritical bigots you people really are.

...so go pound salt and watch out because the next person you kick while your nose floats so high in the air might be the one called karma...and she's out to get YOU honey!

You people don't get that through you thick, bloated, high and mighty heads do you.

It's difficult to "get" anything through the thick fog of insults in your posts.

You have a young child - don't you teach him that it's easier to get your way when you explain yourself calmly? Screaming is never an effective way to get a point across.

Or, as I used to tell my kids when they were small: "I'll listen to you when you've calmed down." (I'm so glad they're teenagers now and can express themselves without resorting to temper tantrums.)

Actually, none of us have any "right" to be here. We're here only as long as we follow the rules and behave ourselves.

You've got a huge brown smudge of "something" hanging off your nose.

I come back today to these forums...Is this really still going on? Really?

WOW!...

No, using all capital letters when typing is shouting. Shouting denotes anger. All upper-case typing isn't akin to anything. Nobody can't code text. Choosing not to is different and doesn't entitle one to a pass, or their own interpretation.

Coding for emphasis here when shortcut keys aren't available (omit spaces):
[ the letter indicating the emphasis desired B I U ] type the message [ / same letter ]

Ok i am currently on a bus that left the
Poly 20 minutes ago.

We have made it as far as the GF !

Why??? Strollers and scooters. Half the bus is full with them , looks like 8 seats are not usablebecause of them. Each stop is taking close to 15 minutes. If your at Contemporary, i would plan an hour at least.

Be prepared to add alot of extra time because buses are full

I wish these were my troubles today. Count your blessings, put on a smile and remember dear, you are in Disney. THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH! :)

Nah, I've just been dinged too many times with points on these boards. When I want a real knock-down drag-out brawl, I hop over to Reddit, the land of the almost free. :lmao:

CAPS is akin to BOLDING when you don't feel like or cannot code your text. Many people seem to bold paragraphs to get their point highlighted and I don't charge THEM with being angry! Maybe the problem is interpreting the typed language because AND I WILL SAY IT AGAIN back me into a corner with accusations of lying, accusing me that I believe in the questions that I post vs trying to start people thinking outside of their rut, and attack my opinion and you d@mn well better believe I'm coming out swinging. And I will keep stating that in my own defense since people can't seemingly actually READ yet simply JUDGE!

All caps is considered shouting.
