We are here now. We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside. It has been the most magical vacation ever. We have been sprinkled big with pixie dust!! Free room upgrade (standard to corner garden/pool) and so close to main building!

Arrived at rope drop. We rode toy story mania, TOT, and rock and roller coaster. We rider swapped so kids got to ride many times! Then our fast passes were huge successes! Hubby and older DS rode TOT with FP and I got a rider swap! My hubby lost it BUT we asked FP cm and they sprinkled me with pixie dust and gave me another!

Next my middle DS and I ride star tours. We did rider swap and then my older DS, hubby, and middle DS rode

Next, we all rode TSM on FP!

Last we rode The Great Movie Ride

We ate at starring rolls- yep I ate cupcake for lunch lol.

We rode TOT 4 times and TSM three! I would say a success! Boys didn't like rock and roller coaster so we only rode once.

Having a blast!

I'm glad you're having a great trip, but you should credit it to showing up at rope drop and using rider swap, that's what all your success is about.

I'm glad you're having a great time!

I'm curious though, will you like FP+ as much when you can no longer do rider swap?

Just face it people, people like FP+ too. We used it, and loved it. It's here to stay and can't wait to use it again.

Sorry, OP but I'm kind of thinking the same. No?

Now, I just need to find a little one to go on rides with. I KNEW I should have waited and gone with my neice and her 3 little ones! Drat!!

Seriously though, OP, glad you had a great trip. And we love POR, it's one of our favs. :goodvibes

Oh, totally agree. I just saw lots of riding in her post due to swapping, that's all. No offense intended. :)

I find it a huge success to ride TOT at 105 with no wait. Then to ride TSM at 3:00 without a wait. Rider swap was an extra perk. We only rode RS and needed it for the TOT as Star Tours only had a 15 wait; therefore, technically, I would still have had a RS for that one.

Last trip, we arrived at Epcot day before Easter at 11 am. ALL FP were gone for major rides at that time. Had we had FP+ then I wouldn't of felt as if I wasted a park day because I would have already booked them prior. So yes in my eyes FP+ is awesome!

So compared to last year, I like FP+ much better. And yes, I do my research prior so I studied how to make my trip get the most bang...

But again, really the only FP ride that we would have needed rider swap for was TOT. Not understanding how rider swap made my day a success as last year I was all stressed about running for fast-passes. This trip, the stress was eliminated.

Yep, it's like I said on another thread, this seems to be a theme for people who love FP+, being able to get there later. And that's great. Really, it is. Glad it isn't a waste for you now. :)

I started out saying I was renting a baby for my next trip. Now I have progressed and will be starting a concierge "rent a baby" service near Disney. I think there's a real market I could tap. :)

I'm glad that you're having a magical, pixiedusted vacation experience, OP. It just goes to show that people will have different experiences with the same product. My experience two weeks ago was not as positive. I hope that your visit continues to be as satisfying as today's.

As others have pointed out, much of your success could be attributed to arriving at RD (pretty much an essential practice during busy periods, with or without FP+) and by using the rider swap. I'm just skeptical as to how much can be due to FP+. But if you feel that it was, then more power to you.

Although, boy can I tell you bringing my 3 boys (especially DS3) was no day at the park. DS3 was the one throwing a fit near backlot express because we wouldn't let him get a toy. He was also the one demanding to walk - and throwing a fit when we wouldn't let him because he doesn't watch where he walks. Now a little baby yea, I could see that. Just no hot tempered, head strung, brand new 3year olds.

Great to hear you are enjoying yourself and enjoying FP+. I really like to hear how rider swap was an extra benefit for re-riding some rides. We are not going till 2015 so I know changes to FP+ will be made, but we would be taking advantage of rider swap most likely. At the time of travel DS will just of turned 5, but I don't think he will be 40 inches by then, so we will use RS so DD can ride. Please keep us updated on how other park days go.

Hilarious! :rotfl: I think it was either Mad Hattered or Mesaboy that said they just follow directions and "take a child by the hand". That one still cracks me up! Definitely going to have to figure out how to make RS work for me on my next trip. My niece will hit the 40 inch mark but not 44. So I'm hoping I can figure it out and my nephews can get a few extra rides on EE and Space. Is it yourself and up to 2 other guests that can come back or just one other guest? I've read both responses on here and not sure.

I'm fairly certain mom2rtk knows what it's like to juggle multiple kids while at Disney.

That's the beauty of RENTING. When they start throwing a fit, you return them. lol ;)

eta: I can empathize though, my son had a meltdown once at a Target and i had to leave the store. ugh. Not fun. But just keep telling yourself, it's just a season. My kids are 21,18 and 14 now and they are major fun to be around. Not that they were bad when they were younger but they are really enjoyable now. :)

Are you all without kids really saying RS is a "benefit"? Have you ever travelled with kids? You are FAR better off without little ones. You will get on WAY more, WAY faster without.

With kids you are stopping to park your stroller, often being sent 100 yards down the way to new mega-stroller-parking lot areas. Then you get to go back to your ride, and ONLY ONE OF YOU gets to ride. So woo-hoo. Now the other can go on with a fast pass, but had you not had a baby, you'd now be DONE. Having both ridden. Yes there is the added benefit that your kid gets to go w the other adult on the 2nd run, so he gets a free ride, but that is just so you don't have to go alone. Meanwhile you're splitting up from your family half the time you're there.

I guess the grass is always going to be greener on another side.

If ANYone wants to check out some kids and take them to DW for a week, I'll let ya take mine!! PM me we'll work out the details. They will get you on everything fast, and CMs love them too cuz they're adorable, so we are regularly let go right to the front of the line. They'll get your dinners comped and private showings of the parades too. :rotfl2:

Glad it worked for you. We were there on Saturday and we didn't get to ride RNR for the first time ever. Kids were bummed they had to choose between TSMM or RNR. Shortest wait for RNR was 70 mins while we were there even in the torrential downpour.

We used to do this all the time with FP-. The number of times that you rode headliners is not the result of FP+. In fact, FP+ is designed to discourage this level of repeat riding. So to be more accurate, you rode all these rides in spite of FP+, not because of it.
