Here now LOVE FP+ (seriously)

This and the fact that I am not an unintelligent person. I think I can gauge for myself what caused MY own success. :)

Then can you explain to the rest of us how FP+ caused you to ride 8 out the 11 rides at DHS that you did not have FP for? Because I am not unintelligent either but I cannot see how FP+ caused you to ride all those rides multiple times when you rode via RS or the stand by line.

I mean, I can start a thread claiming that I hate FP+ because I spent 3 hours in the park mid afternoon in July and was only able to ride my 3 FP rides because the popular rides had too long of a wait, but that doesn't mean I'm correct in saying my 3 ride limit was caused by FP+.

By the title of the OP I expected to read a post about how great FP+ was, but it read as how great rider swap was. I don't think anyone is truly dismissing her FP+ experience but her OP is more about how rider swap helped her have a successful day riding rides multiple times and not so much FP+

:thumbsup2

Again RS was available with FP legacy. So are you telling me that RS is the reason legacy days were successful? Again I like not having to run and get my FP. I like having it planned out. It was less hectic. And of course I do rope drop. I want the most bang for my buck. So again I stand with my experience that FP + is awesome and has made my trip far better than last year with legacy NOT taking into consideration my Easter afternoon as I knew ahead of time legacy FP would be gone!

I hope this doesn't come across as picking on you. I think it is fantastic the new system is working so well for you and it definitely sounds like you're getting a good bang for your buck. From reading the other posts in this thread it seems that if in your OP you had stated FP+ is awesome b/c I didn't have to run and get FPs, loved having it planned ahead of time and found it less hectic than touring with FP- there wouldn't have been questions. But b/c the OP talked about how many rides you were able to experience that is where the questions came in.

I will be totally honest, I know if my next trip was going to be an adult trip I would really miss FP-. My next trip.will be with kiddos tho and I can see some benefit to being able to pick.some rides in advance. I personally wish for a hybrid system that allows 1 in advance (maybe 2 or 3 in MK) and then allows you to book more once in the park. My trip won't be til.Oct tho so plenty of time for things to change!

Legacy FP didn't have the restrictions FP+ does. You were able to ride so many rides because you got there at RD and used rider swap, not because of FP+.

If someone rode 11 rides during legacy FP- days, but 8 were via rider swap or the stand by line, I would question them if they considered FP- to be the reason for their successful day.

You framed your day as successful because of the number of rides you did, and the number you repeated. FP+ accounts for 3 of the 11. That's why you're getting the responses you are.

I think the original post was perfectly valid. Let's examine:

Title: Here now LOVE FP+

Fair enough. Completely true. Nothing debatable. Nothing suggestive that FP+ caused him to get on 11 rides, just the he is there now, and loves FP+.

We are here now. We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside. It has been the most magical vacation ever. We have been sprinkled big with pixie dust!! Free room upgrade (standard to corner garden/pool) and so close to main building!

Anecdotal intro about a free room upgrade. Jealous.

Arrived at rope drop. We rode toy story mania, TOT, and rock and roller coaster.

A benefit of RD

We rider swapped so kids got to ride many times!

A wash. As usual when doing RS, you only get to ride separately, so he's wasting double the time to each ride once. call it a benefit if you like, but more of an equalizer. Whatever.

Then our fast passes were huge successes! Hubby and older DS rode TOT with FP and I got a rider swap!

Ok, huge benefit to FP+. RS is irrelevant, could do that before. But definitely a reason to love FP+ as Hubby and DS rode TOT with little wait.

Next my middle DS and I ride star tours. We did rider swap and then my older DS, hubby, and middle DS rode

Used FP+ again with great success. more reason to love it. It worked well with their RS, but really the FP is what got them on here, no one doubled up except their son.

Next, we all rode TSM on FP!

Wow. Aside from the rope drop hour, it's sounding like FP+ was a benefit for most of the day! Pretty awesome.

Last we rode The Great Movie Ride

Suggesting they rode GMR with a reasonable wait despite the fears that FP+ would cause it to be awful. I'd say this is FP+ neutral.

We ate at starring rolls- yep I ate cupcake for lunch lol.

Some anecdotal trivialities to tie out the post.

We rode TOT 4 times and TSM three! I would say a success! Boys didn't like rock and roller coaster so we only rode once.

The 3rd riding of TSM is not documented. But probly later in the night, which again is suggesting reasonable lines even "despite" FP+.

Having a blast!

Again cool.

Nowhere in there did he say he was having a great time BECAUSE of FP+. Rather, just that he was having a blast, and loves FP+. That is entirely true. Everybody who then attacked and said you're having a great time but it's certainly not BECAUSE of FP+ it's IN SPITE OF FP+ put those words in his mouth.

Saying "I'm all and I'm smart" does not mean I'm tall because I'm smart. It just means I'm tall... and I'm smart. Such was his original statement. He was there, he was having a blast, and he loves FP+. There is nothing contradictory there.

Again, replace love FP+ with hate FP+ and people would be all over the poster explaining why the post they made had nothing to do with FP+. People who arrive late on a busy day and complain about how crowded it is, blaming FP+ for their lack of rides, are routinely told it's their late arrival that caused their bad day, not FP+, and that is likely correct. That's all that's happening here, but apparently opinions and reports can only be debated if they're "negative".

But there's no point going round and round in circles here, as I've said the same thing over and over regarding negative FP+ comments but nobody has addressed it.

I am really struggling with the concept of the FP+. I will need to do more research before going to WDW in August as I am not sure I understand the best way to utilize it.... :)

well, I agree with you. :)
