Arrived yesterday. It was warm but cloudy. Today is SUPER hot. We have Frogg Toggs and mister fans, but it is HOT!! We have tried to stay in as much as we can, Little Mermaid, etc. as son as we leave an attraction it feels like we are melting. This is gross, but literally sweat rolling down your head and your back. Yuck!! I'm from the South and thought we would be okay, but we are pretty miserable. I love Disney, but never again in the summer.

It is so hot in the summer i know. We found the Epcot parking lot to be hottest place on earth:beach: take a dip in the pool. Get to the park early, leave early and be thankful you are not there in July. ;)

Oooh, breaking news! Disney is hot in June! Water is wet! Sandpaper is dry! :lmao: Sorry, just had to yank your chain a little bit.

Anyway, I suppose it is warm, yes. The rain doesn't really help. That blast of humidity on a summer day after a rainstorm here is torture. But it sounds like you're doing what you can to keep cool...and that's really all you CAN do. Hydrate, take breaks in AC, take breaks at your resort, etc. You're at Disney! Make the best of it! :goodvibes

Lol. Thanks for that. We arrive July 20th. Of course, we come from the desert in CA, so we will trade one heat for another. July where we live is usually 115 or more, low humidity. Lower temp in Orlando but more humidity. Much more fun in Orlando, though!

I agree...thanks for the breaking news that it's hot at WDW in summer.

I just hope it's not crowded and expensive.

We made the mistake of going in September last year and never again. The intense heat quickly kills the Disney magic.

Hope it cools off a bit the rest of the trip for you.

So sorry you're having trouble handling the heat. June just seems awful around here, I think because May is usually so nice, but as soon at the calendar rolls over to June, the humidity rolls in, and it can be miserable.

I do wonder if the mister fans actually make things worse, since you would instantly feel hot again when you turn them off. I prefer swabbing my face and back of the neck with a cold wet cloth occasionally.

My advice is HATS HATS HATS, sunglasses, putting your hair up off your neck (I pull mine through a ball cap or use a headband), wearing t-shirts rather then tank tops (to avoid burning), and drinking water like crazy. Save your bottles and refill them at the water fountains, or get complimentary ice water at any counter service location. Put sunscreen on your feet if you are wearing open shoes. And the back of your neck to your collar. Forget the hair and makeup, it's pointless (I do wonder at the hair and makeup threads around here.)

Get up early to do rope drop, spend the afternoon at the pool and return in the evening. That works some, but June seems to have some very hot nights too.

I hope you have a great time, despite the heat!

Yeah, we live in Florida, and today was just BRUTAL. :crazy2: We leave for WDW tomorrow. Normally we go in the cooler months, but for some reason decided to go as soon as school got out. Now we're like, "What were we thinking??" :lmao: I have a feeling we'll be spending more time in the pool than at the parks.

We just got back yesterday...my travel party found it to be unbearably hot also...I however didn't find it so bad :confused3

Ugh. We're going at the end of August because it's the only time we can go this year. Posts like this give me a bad feeling...:sad2:

Yep!! I went in June 4 years ago and vowed, "never again". :sunny: I LOVE the heat, so have no reason to complain....usually. But the humidity was 97% as I remember, and I just couldn't rise above my discomfort. :sad2: We still had plenty of fun, but we're "Fall" people now. :hmghost: I hope it lets up for you! 'Good excuse for a Mickey popsicle....like there needs to be an excuse!

It's actually not that hot, highs are only in the 80's(82-87) mainly due to the very active rainy pattern we're in.Hot is a trip we took about 2 years ago where every day was in the 95-99 range with heavy humidity making it feel near 120.As much as I hate rain it actually calms down the high temperatures keeping them at tolerable levels, the humidity is still awful but right now the heat itself is not too bad for how bad it can get this time of year.

lol

Seriously though, am I going to die of heat in August? Coming from NY. This is a bad idea isn't it.

This is me, only at the beginning of August!! We usually go mid-May, but couldn't this year, so we switched to the only other time we COULD go. We are just going to do everything we can to stay cool and enjoy it!! After all, the hottest, most humid day at Disney is better than any day at work!!!
:rotfl:

lol

You won't die, but the real heat is definitely not here yet. August is just about right for that. ;)

LOL!!!! Noooo, it won't be either of those! Go! Enjoy! ;). It's actually pretty funny watching DD11 shop with her own money now. She was absolutely aghast when she saw the $60 price tag on the Chewie backpack she was all set to buy! "Stuff is EXPENSIVE here!" Yeah, you should've seen the price on your ticket!! Ha!

And this really won't help at all, but it was completely gorgeous over Memorial Day weekend. DH and I just kept saying "wow, I can't believe it's this nice!" I just call it even-Steven for the every-freakin-day 95 degrees and rain during our October trip! I always say the one thing you can count on in Disney restaurants is inconsistency. I think the same can be said about the weather. And remember a miserably hot day at Disney is better than air conditioning at work ;)
