Here now, I hate MM+

we've been here since christmas, and decided we were not going to pull passes, but just use FP+. we didnt have any problems. we're a rope drop family, so we did a lot the first fee hours, took a break then enjoyed FP+ We never waited more than 30 min, except at Toy Story this morning when we waited 40, because we signed up for jedi training.

It hasn't been announced, speculation on here, many threads dedicated to this. My $30 a ride analogy is the fact that a single day park ticket costs over $90, so it breaks down to $30 a ride if you only get 3 FP with that limitation. Clearer now?
Clear as mud.

Just because you only get 3 FPs, doesn't mean you're limited to just three rides a day.:confused3

We only travel during peak times. Our next trip is during July 4th. The new system just means we have to take advantage of EMHs, single rider and rope drop.

We will use FP+ for extra rides on the major attractions.

How dare you not hate it ;)

How about this, before (during Peak time & not using EMH) we would be able to get a minimum of 6 FP's a day, and we never waited more than 30 min for any ride we rode StandBy. now we will be limited to 3 FP an will need to ride StandBy for the rest. I highly doubt that we will get to ride the same amount of rides as before and definitely not without significantly increased wait times. The value (and hence the cost per ride) has probably doubled since we will not be able to get as many FP's in a day. And since we will not wait in StandBy significantly longer than before, our price per ride has gone up significantly. Therefore the value of a Disney vacation has gone down for our family.

I know I speak for more than a few when I say I understand that 3 FP is less than what we're used to and an obvious limitation of the new system.

However, I am still not on the pay-for-FP or resort-tiering bandwagons. I still have hope Disney will not go this route.

That's not the case. Where did you hear that?

The truth is that you CAN'T even PAY to get any more than 3 FP+ a day.

Of course you can pay to get more than 3 FP+ in a day, at least at AK. For the low cost of $95 you can purchase a second one day ticket to AK and get 3 more FP+. Until FP+ get's implemented at the other parks for offsite guests you would need to book a second set of reservations, or if you have the room just add them to your reservations. Then buy a second set of tickets for everyone.;)

It may sound crazy, but I'd read the strategy of buying 2 tickets more than once for Tokyo Disneyland.

Don't forget, the parks just coming out of an EXTREMELY crowded period. That will certainly affect your touring. I don't think ANY person would manage to do more then a possible handful of rides when the parks are packed. I know it's January 3rd, but I doubt the parks are completely cleared out yet.

I love Disney, but that is not worth it. And before you say "there's StandBy", I say to you; I've never waited more than 30 min for a ride (during Peak time) and have gotten more than 3 FP's a day (also during peak time) and now you are gonna limit me to 3 and tough noogies? Or else I'll have to pay more for it? Disney tickets already cost more than Universal! And now you're gonna make us pay for add'l FP's? Universal may be getting my vacation dollars from now on!

You do realize that standard admission to Universal includes zero Express Passes during the day. If you don't want to be exclusively in the StandBy line you're going to pay. Either by staying onsite, buying a special ticket that includes EP, or buying a separate EP pass.

This thread isn't giving me any warm fuzzies for our trip at the end of the month. Just made FP+ selections today. Thankfully crowds will be thinner...but a bit concerned now that see all resorts may be going FP+ only by the end of the month which could have some impacts on the system. Guess we'll see.

It's not just the limitation on # of FP's. The system is SEVERELY glitchy! I have already spent a decent amount of time setting up my MDE account, linking my reservation, and choosing my FP's. Now, I'm here and it loses my kids' FP's & will not let me re-add them. So, tomorrow, I'll need to spend a decent amount of park time trying to get this all straightened out. AND, there's no FP for Guest Relations

The MyMagic+ 'MagicBand-only' testing is set to expand from the Pop Century and All Star Resorts test to include all Walt Disney World Resort hotels by the end of January 2014.
With 'MagicBand-only', guests will be given a MagicBand in place of the Key to the World Card for all MyMagic+ functions, including park admission, touch-to-pay, touch-to-enter, and FastPass+.

Key to the World cards can still be requested, but are not available for regular FASTPASS use. This means that by the end of January 2014, all Walt Disney World Resort Guests will be using FastPass+, and will not have access to the legacy FASTPASS system.

The rollout for 'MagicBand-only' is as follows.
•Jan. 6 – Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
•Jan. 7 – Disney’s Port Orleans Resort
•Jan. 8 – Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
•Jan. 9 – Disney’s Old Key West Resort and Disney’s Saratoga Spring Resort & Spa
•Jan. 10 – Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
•Jan. 13 – Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts
•Jan. 14 – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
•Jan. 15 – Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
•Jan. 16 – Disney’s Contemporary Resort
•Jan. 17 – Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney’s Polynesian Resort
•Jan. 20 – Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

So looks like after January it's all MB and FP+ I've read on here some people have been able to use both FP and FP+ and manipulate the system... I'm sure that your not the only
One upset by this new system and there is probably lots of people calling and complaining so hopefully Disney will get all of this fixed soon

Maybe since your having trouble getting your kids on the mde Disney will offer you some type of deal for the rest of your stay like FP for everyone for every day your there. :)

First off, I feel your pain. We were there at the beginning of the month and hated MM/MDE/FP+. That was the third trip that we "tested" this and the third time that it stunk.

I have an idea. Can you go right now to the resort concierge or, second choice, the check-in desk and see if someone can help you? Seems like someone at your hotel should at least be able to get the kids tickets figured out, if not even get their FP+ ressies back on. That would keep you from wasting park time tomorrow on it or maybe reduce the time needed to spend on the issues at the park. Remember, don't call from your room down to the front desk to ask if they can help. You will be getting a call center. Best to just go in person. Just a thought...hope that might help.

We're doing July 4th this year as well. This is our second time going during that week. On our last trip at that time we didn't pull many FP's (maybe 3 or 4 a day) because we're not ones to run all over the park to just get FP's. We still rode everything we wanted multiple times and never waited in line more than 20 minutes. We just used the Lines app to find whatever was near us with the shortest standby time and went from there.

But..but...that's can't be true! That's not what people who HAVEN'T been there are saying!

Here is a perfect example of why I have concluded that you are an opponent of FP+. You can object all you want about how I have classified you, but the tone and content of your posts speak for themselves.

I WAS there last week and, as I reported in a thread earlier this morning, our experience with the FP lines was just fine.

It's easy to make general statements, but I'd like to hear some specific examples of how long people actually waited in FP lines. Saying that "FP lines were out the door" is meaningless because the FP return lines always start "outside the door" because that is where the first FP checkpoint is.

The relevant issue isn't how many people are in each line, it is how many minutes it takes to get through the line.

I will also say that we did a LOT more than 3 rides and shows a day during some of the busiest days of the year, so I agree with the posters who say that if you're only doing 3 in a day you are doing something terribly inefficient.

Exactly what we did. And, when we used our FP+ in the late afternoons and evenings we didn't encounter any long lines either. Unless you think that 10- 15 minutes to scan your band, get through the queue, and get on and off a ride is too long.

Sorry your not enjoying it. My fiancé and I really loved the system on our last trip.
