We have Blue Bayou booked for lunch tomorrow and Monday as we were on the fence of which day to not go to park , knowing the CHOC walk was tomorrow we had been leaning to not going tomorrow. When cancelling an ADR is it 24 hours or simply the day before. Want to make sure Fantasmic and fireworks go tonite. Our other option too is we can change the reservation to something in downtown Disney, not actually cancel it, does this change the time guidelines?

I've heard it's the day before, not necessarily 24hours.

Pretty sure it is by midnight of the day before. It is definitely not 24 hours.

I read through the FAQ. .it is incredibly vague ..we cancelled it..I looked ahead in week there are other windows available. Thanks for weighing in both of you.

It is the day before, but sometimes the site has issues if it's less than 24 hours before (but before midnight). I've both been able to cancel the day before online (less than 24 hours) and I've had to call to cancel in the same scenario. My most recent experience did involve me having to call.

They will let you cancel, though, day before. The CM I spoke to last time I ran into this and had to call did seem baffled it wasn't letting me just cancel online.

We learned a little trick here, about canceling past the 24 hour mark. Simply go online and change your reservation for another day, then cancel. Worked fine for us when it was pouring in February and we simply could not bring ourselves to go back to the park for our dinner reservations. I am sure if we would have called, they would have been forgiving, but this was easy too.

Oooh! Very sneaky indeed. In the case of bad weather, especially when your WOC/F! Fastpasses won't do any good, this will become an options for us!
