Here now, and here is the problem

I'm gonna say I'm neutral right now. But what gets me is that FP- was simple. And FP+ has seemed to turn into a battle. I mean everytime they change something in testing you have to relearn something. This will go away once it's fully rolled out but for someone who hates technology that aspect is not appealing. There will always be bugs in technology. There will always be needs for constant updating. That's just how any technology is. And I know a lot of people who can't turn on a computer... Well it took all the simplicity away.

This view again comes from a neutral party who does not want to make love with the new FP+ nor hates it for I only go during off season and always will. So it doesn't affect me either way. ;)

The parks are crowed, but so far fast pass plus has worked great. I do think the lines for fast pass are bigger now, but I also think they are letting more fast pass people through and making stand by wait longer.

Got to ask FP lines are bigger now, and standby waiting longer, what about this is great.

Wait until the Mine Coaster comes on. That will be fun to watch. People think getting a BOG ADR is hard ;)

Please keep in mind that it is Thanksgiving week, one of the busiest weeks of the year at WDW. I have had many, many FP- waits in the past that that were longer than they should have been, which in turn backs up the standby line. With the exception of Safari at AK (I believe the ride had been down for a while), our FP lines were no different than prior trips during busy times. Are you at WDW right now? Have you even tried FP+ yourself? You can express your dislike of the concept, that is fine, but why do you feel the need to discredit people who liked their FP+ experience...the people who are actually in the park using it right now.

I don't think he was discrediting anyone, just following up on someone who is there now and their observations, in that both lines were longer.

Luv started posting on this thread only .. at around 3 pm..

Only one post from kellyny yesterday night in between.. its them LOLOLOL

I'm doing the equivalent of FP- gathering in post numbers as many of you claim to love. You are again name calling Julie. Do you have any idea what I was trying to say before? I said if you don't like FP+ and that's okay. I love it but don't look down on the people who do. All of you haters so far exhibit the same personality trait.
A system must benefit to you and you only. Anything else is just bad. Now it's my number of posts that bothers you? Hey guess what! Your endless collecting of fp- may bother someone else too.

I got to say you really need to read posts before you reply back, where did Julie name call you .

My point exactly. And that's IF the poster has actually been to WDW during FP+ testing and especially during a high volume week.

We are going to see a whole new, most likely more expensive, way of touring once this all shakes out. I'm just glad I'm not the test guinea pig paying thousands for the honor.

:lmao: I'm one of the guinea pigs. Our trip is in April. Until then, I'll keep reading here to see how FP+ is progressing or regressing. We have another trip scheduled for November 2014 but if we do not enjoy our April trip, we'll probably just stick with Universal in November.

Obviously, up to you, but I put this plant (interpret how one chooses) on ignore almost immediately. Way too much garbage to cluttering up a discussion. Have a great day!

Amen. The thread reads so much more polite that way.

I just wish people would be more judicious in their quoting... ignore doesn't filter out quoted posts.

Or even just more capacity for the most popular attractions.
(Constructing duplicates or very similar attractions to the busiest rides.)

Like the new Dueling Dumbos have solved that ride's formerly infamous bottleneck.

:thumbsup2

You can ignore someone? Or is that figuratively speaking? Just out of curiosity....

I don't see it on the mobile app, but at least on the main site there's the ability to put posters of your choice on Ignore. You don't see their posts unless they are quoted.

Ride capacity does not change. The average number of rides/attractions per guest (assuming attendance is flat) will not change and may actually will go up as empty seats in less popular attractions fill up.

What FP+ does is level the playing field. It is distribution of wealth on an amusement park level. For everyone who was riding 20 attractions per day through careful management of FP and planning there were people who only got a handful in. The 20's will go down, and the handfuls will go up. From a statistical stand point you can think of it as the standard (or more accurately the mean) remains the same but the standard deviation goes down.

Most people on DIS are probably on the high end of the curve. Their experience will become "less". But it is all for the greater good. At least in Disneys eyes.

I would venture a guess that those people that didn't use the old FP system efficiently will also be the same ones that won't use the new FP system efficiently. We never rode 20 rides a day using FP. We were glad to get a couple. Spontaneity was nice. Sounds like that has gone.

So what is gained with the new FP?

I am not a fan of the saying, "for the greater good". It rarely works out that way.

It sounds like there is more to lose than to gain.

Thanks. I swear you can't do anything on this app lol

Your post is fabulous! But, you did forget the one category of Disney guest. That is the "bench-folks". You know the perfectly healthy ones who come back with, "Well, I just love the new system ! (even though they ride no headliners and admit that they pay to enter an amusement park and just sit on a bench and watch people go by).

Do they not realize that they can do that outside the (not sure if I can say gates or turnstyles these days) entrance on a bench for FREE?;)

Oh Bailey, my favourite was someone kicking around here a week or so ago talking about how they don't mind that they will have to stand in standby lines instead of just fastpassing everything because that way they could just "spend time talking with (their) family", and of course they suggested we should all feel the same, and that made the new system better.

I laughed so hard. Then offered to rent her out my house for a couple thousand dollars while we are at Disney world, they can talk to their family allllllllll day, would never get distracted by a single ride.

Does it matter. It's obsolete now. I was coding it back when I was 8 when you had to in order to run anything and fix everything on windows 95. And FYI HTML is obsolete I believe they are up to 5.0 now but with the way the upgrade their standards who knows anymore. It's why I switched professions. Good day sir.

My bad. I thought you ran ms dos as an os by itself with no gui or windows. So you ran windows 95 instead right? You probably have no idea what am I talking about. What you described on coding is not really coding in ms dos in any remote way.

I don't think you were really in the it profession for a long time. Your terms for the job is a bit confusing to say the least.

Want me to show you how to ignore me in this app? Stop pretending you really know it or cs as a profession.

I have long said they need to put in either a duplicate TSMM on the other end of DHS or something similiar. The technology is already in place, etc. I don't think it would be that expensive. They could relatively cheaply double their capacity. Heck they could use Wreck it Ralph if they wanted to. (If that's even a Disney movie. I don't remember).

Also, how hard would it be to put in another Soarin' type ride?

:confused3
