Here now, and here is the problem

Why can't a new user know how to multi-quote? Why is that bad?

It is not bad at all but it strongly implies, along with such clearly fierce views on a particular and controversial subject, that you are not new at all.

I dislike the whole double/triple dipping. I think they should just roll the system out in phases. It's just typical of tech roll outs. I go through this everyday, and just because of that I defend the system more. It is the same exact thing at my job. I toll system out to countless number of company and most of the users are exhibiting similar anxiety. The ones that calls us names to the ones like you who wish to point out the flaws. I welcome the opinion of the latter kind and you know what I do for the first.

Forgive me for not searching the whole thread for my next questions if you already responded to them.

Are you truly happy with 3 fp+ selections? Do you think that is enough to make your touring the park easier? Are you happy with the tiers? Do you KNOW for sure what you want to ride 60 days before you'll actually be at the parks?

Because I'm not and I don't. I think they restrict and constrain my time in the parks. The whole point of the system was to make the planning of a vacation easier and what they created is a military strategy. I have no clue what I want to eat tomorrow, how in the world will I know that I want to ride Space Mountain on February 26th 1:45pm? I hate constraints and this type of planning (and here is the word used correctly because I truly hate it) because they take all the fun of a vacation. Sure a little planning is beneficial and I look up crowd calendars but that is the extent of what I want to plan.

I'll be the one to say it.
Its not implying.

You aren't new. You know more about this than a new DISer asking what to pack and asking about black Friday Disney sales.

Let's just be honest.

I'm pretty sure everyone got what they wanted (and more) from this thread. Haven't trotted this out in a while, but thanks to the last 24 hours I'm fairly certain it's needed.

ALTOGETHER NOW!

If I come off trying to push my love for the system then I apologize. I already said repeatedly I do not wish to do so. All I wanted to do is to say I love the system. I only responded nasty to the ones that insulted me before. Not you. I wasn't trying to say that you don't know how to multi-quote. I was responding to the multiple things at once. Why can't a new user know how to multi-quote? Why is that bad? So what did you code in MS-DOS? I haven't find that many people who do anymore? You still know how to allocate memory as DOS starts?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: you keep saying you don't mean to come off that way yet you keep coming off that way. You are being nasty to others who haven't insulted you one bit. Than you keep going. You can code and multi quote being a newbie just fine. Good for you. I never said you couldn't. But all if a sudden everyone else who can't is dumb? But than sorry you didn't mean that????

Just walk away from the conversation. Or stop quoting people and putting them down. It's not hard.

got ya. makes sense..im an off season died in the wool guy

I completely understand your point, I don't have access to Disney in off peak, but if I did - I wouldn't worry about FP+ much. I appreciate your perspective.

Just did it in September at Universal from the Hard Rock and was told it was not unlimited. Maybe we were told wrong. And yes, apparently the new "value" resort won't have it at all. Just early entry.
I am sad about this:(. We are a family of 6, so our only option is the new hotel. We won't be going for several years, so I should just shut up and keep my fingers crossed:). I am dying to go to Universal, but I think our kids are still too young.

You were definitely told wrong, or misunderstood. It is unlimited for those who stay onsite at the three current hotels.

You are correct though that the new value resort won't have it at all.

It has been around for several years, called the VIP ticket, not to be confused with the VIP tour.

I am sad about this:(. We are a family of 6, so our only option is the new hotel. We won't be going for several years, so I should just shut up and keep my fingers crossed:). I am dying to go to Universal, but I think our kids are still too young.

There are two kinds of Express Pass over at Universal. The one offered to their 3 deluxe onsite hotels is unlimited and it's a great tool to touring the parks with virtually no wait. They're also sold to the off site visitors with a huge price tag. Then you have the limited version which gives you the option of riding a ride with no wait just once. These are cheaper than the unlimited but not worth in my opinion unless you're on a time constraint or you really only want to/can ride everything once.

Cabana Bay won't offer the express pass. If they did it would jeopardize the whole system simple because CB has roughly the guest capacity of the other 3 hotels combined. From virtually no line you would be waiting as much as standby does. There are talks of offering CB guests a discount to purchase EP but we'll only know more when the hotel is ready next June.

BTW, isn't it funny that a deluxe hotel over at Uni costs less per night than a moderate at WDW? What gives?

Remember that poster who got chastised by the CM over the phone because they didn't like FP+? Seems like the CM found her way over to the DIS!

LOL ! Yes !! That's it :lmao:

The funny part is the lovers of FP+ are touting what a perfect system this is, how it made their trip so much better and it's was all unicorns and rainbows. They loved getting to reserve their 3 favorites (because they FP+ lovers have not been affecting by tiers yet, that only started recently) and they loved being able to supplement with FP-. Also, they were during low-to-mid season when crowds weren't a factor.

I'm not hearing too many unicorn and rainbow post from people visiting THIS WEEK when crowds are quite high. I wonder how many gushing posts we will hear once the system is maxed out with EVERYONE on the new FP+ (offsite, AP)

And how many "I loooooooove FP+" will come once FP legacy is gone... And you get 3. Period. And if you don't reserve precisely at 60 days out, you'll be stuck with IASW, Country Bear and Stitch... Yippee !! Magical !!

Sure - right now - being able to get 3 reserved spots, plus pull legacy FP, while only resort guest are on the sytstem is lovely !!! But this isn't even CLOSE to what the final product will look like. I think the "haters" realize this while the "KoolAid drinkers" are too busy seeing the shiny new system through rose colored glasses.

Obviously, up to you, but I put this plant (interpret how one chooses) on ignore almost immediately. Way too much garbage to cluttering up a discussion. Have a great day!

I'm okay with tiering and 3 for now. I have no real solution to the capacity problem. New attraction doesn't come over night so some rationing is fine with me. Tiering may even be beneficial in the future where 3 is the base and depends on hotel cat you may get more if Disney allows it. Simply going the path of Universal where lots of people have no problem book an on-site stay so they can get to HP. As the wait time for day of visitor or off site needs to wait longer.

I already pre-book everyday at a table service when I visit. so my 3 will be based on the park where I have the table service. Not hard to plan at all. The system even avoid my dinner reservation automatically. I don't even use crowd calendars just Disney calendar to show which park has the longest hours of operation.
The kind of planning that many do here is hard for me. Especially the crowd calendar is like trying to predict if a stock is going up or down based on historical data. Besides I don't mind the crowd that much yet.

got ya. makes sense..im an off season died in the wool guy

Hopefully, off-season impacts with a new system will be much less during off season. Sadly, with the kids, that is not an option for us.

Hope all your trips are great.

I'm actually more interested on your MS-DOS opinion. So what do you think of the memory allocation tricks that you have to do so that things load properly? That was a pain sometimes but boy was it fun too! Did you have to write your own start up settings for something before?

Something called supply and demand and what the market will bear.

It's certainly not because Disney is nothing but greedy misers while Universal (and its parent company) are benevolent angels who care only that their guests have a great, affordable, relaxing vacation instead of making money.

Your post is fabulous! But, you did forget the one category of Disney guest. That is the "bench-folks". You know the perfectly healthy ones who come back with, "Well, I just love the new system ! (even though they ride no headliners and admit that they pay to enter an amusement park and just sit on a bench and watch people go by).

Do they not realize that they can do that outside the (not sure if I can say gates or turnstyles these days) entrance on a bench for FREE?;)

So how much of a total in $$ to universal now a days compares to WDW?
If it's that much better to universal maybe we should all go there too instead of WDW.

I've been here the last 4 days (including thanksgiving day). And so far so good with fast pass plus. Do I wish I could book more than 3 fast pass rides in a day, sure I do but it has not be any kind of determinate to our vacation yet. Take today for example, my 11 month old daughter did not fell well so we stayed in the hotel to let her sleep. We are going to DHS in a bit and I know that we are still okay for TSM at 3:00. If I was on the old system I would have either had to get to the park late and in all likely hood not get a fast pass for TSM, or I would have had to force my daughter to get up and drag her to the park not feeling well just to get a fast pass (something I would never do, but others would IMO). So I just take the good with the bad. But I have never been the type of person who was so rigid with my plans that one thing going not according to plan ruins my vacation.
