WE ARRIVED YESTERDAY TO THE BCV AND I AM SO SUPRISED AT HOW CROWDED MK WAS LAST NIGHT. IT WAS LIKE SUMMER CROWDED WHERE YOU SLOWLY WALK THRU THE CROWDS TO GET TO ONE OF THE LANDS. VERY SUPRISING!!!! DO YOU EXPERTS THINK IT WILL STAY THIS CROWDED. PEOPLE ARE STANDING ON THE BUSES CROWDED. VERY SUPRISED. I KNOW IT IS A HOLIDAY BUT I DIDN'T EXPECT IT FOR THE WHOLE WEEK. WILL IT GET ANY BETTER? JUST WONDERING!!!!:confused3

I sure hope so! We will be there on the 22. Keep us posted and have a ton of fun!!!
Say hi to Mickey for me!

Its a holiday weekend. If you are staying into next week, it should thin way out for the remainder of the week. At least you are there in the crowds while we are at home!!! Have a great trip.

So many schools get fall breaks now in October, I think it is going to stay a popular time to go to WDW. Hopefully a lot of the breaks will be over by the time we get there at the end of his month ;)

We spent yesterday afternoon at AK and then headed over to MK at 6pm. We were really surprised at how both parks were so crowded too! Hopefully today will be a much better day for you. The crowd calendar only shows a 4 for today. I didn't look to see what it was suppose to be for yesterday.

The crowds increased as the week went on last week. Epcot was really busy late day Thursday.

You should notice a drop in crowds on Tuesday. You'll have extra crowds this weekend for the holiday. Columbus weekend is always a big travel weekend.
Hang in there!

we used to go every october, and it seemed to be busier every year. That's why we're trying November this year, but now they've added free dining and I can't switch any of my adrs, I hope it's not crazy busy then too.

Up here on Long Island the schools were off last Thrus and this coming Monday. I am sure there are a few parents who took there kids out on Friday to make a long weekend. DW knows at least one person who took off for Disney this weekend.

We were there for this same week last year and it was more crowded than we had expected. So much that we went in September this year and it was great!!!! :cool1:

Schools here are on Fall break, so I think that really adds to the crowds.

We were there for the same weekend two years ago. We arrived the weekend before and stayed up to Columbus Day. I think Columbus Day weekend is the only caveat to the whole "October is a great time to go" thing. For most of the week we were able to walk onto most rides with minimal to less than a 20 minute wait and CD weekend, especially that Saturday in the MK, waits were easily over an hour to 90 minutes and Fastpasses were gone by after lunch.

Just be smart this weekend and I am sure the crowds will return to more reasonable levels after Monday.

Epcot was far busier today than the "crowd level" predictions led us to believe. I had second thoughts early this morning, but DH said let's go anyway. We pulled into the Epcot parking lot at 8:30. When we got through security, there were LONG lines at all the turnstiles waiting to get into the park.
Huge crowd headed toward Soarin, as usual. We didn't stop for a fastpass because it looked like 2/3 of the crowd was doing that. It only took us 10 minutes to get to boarding the ride. When we got off there was hardly any standby line, but the room with the fastpass machines was packed!! And a line of people snaking out of that room into the food court table/booth area. We didn't even bother stopping. The people in line for fastpasses could have ridden twice in the time they spent waiting. Seriously.
We saw several large tour groups -- and that also surprised me. No one on here had mentioned any tour groups at this particular time. We know it's a holiday weekend. The one tour group had yellow shirts on with "Brasil" on (and yes, it was spelled that way) and appeared to be family groups. Another one was mostly young girls. One group had red or red/black shirts and I couldn't read what was on them. Saw the letters "rod" but that may have been the middle of a word.
Anyway, we'll think twice about doing another day on a 3-day weekend. ;-)
And it was also hotter than predicted. We checked the time board around 2 p.m. and it said no fastpasses were left for Soarin'. We wouldn't have gone back at that point anyway. The usual walk-ons were that way today too -- Nemo, Figment, Ellen. Even Spaceship Earth was busy when we left just before 3. World Showcase wasn't bad but some of the food stands had unbelievable lines!

We have been the last 3 weekends, the first two were "EMPTY". Today, at MK and Epcot, were almost to the point of summer again. Here in Fl. our kids do not have off for Columbus Day but I guess other parts of the country do. I also spoke to a family from Long Island and they were off a part of last year for the Jewish holidays..we'll be back next week...hope everyone goes home!:goodvibes

I hear you! We got in from the cruise this morning and since it was my folks' last day, decided to hit MGM since it was the park we spent the least amount of time in... OMG the crowds! There was a 90 minute wait for Midway Mania.

We headed over to Epcot even knowing that it would be crowded b/c again, it was their last day. We went to France and walked around the world a little bit but it was SO crowded and SO hot, DH, DD and I headed back to the villa and are chilling out for the rest of the day doing laundry and not much of anything.

I saw the red t-shirt people also. It looked like some sort of technology group but it had mostly young people in their early teens.

I have been here since Tue. and it was so uncrowded until Thur. and since Thur. its been crazy! Having a good time though!

We were there last Sat-Wed. It started getting more crowded around Tuesday afternoon. The other days weren't bad at all.

We heard that BCV was sold out as of Thursday so we planned just right. We avoided F&W until Monday and it wasn't too bad at all except for the rain on Monday night and DOWNPOURS on Tuesday!

My neighbor just returned today. She was there from Oct. 2-12. She picked those dates because they were supposed to be less crowded according to the Disney website. She said it was really awful. The buses were filled to the brim and the parks were almost unbearable. She was pretty disappointed since she waited all summer to avoid the crowds and had to put up with them anyway. And Touring Plans also said that it would not be crowded for those dates. So much for all that planning! My family is going in November and I will be upset if the same thing happens to us.

She said the busses were so awful that people had to stand and this one man who was drenched in sweat was standing up and dripping sweat from his underarms onto the people seated below him.:scared: :scared: :scared: The busses were that crowded. Doesn't sound fun to me!

We just came back Wednesday..we were there the 1-8 and by the 5th the place was a tiny bit crowded... manageable just a little annoying. Out of all the times I went that was the busiest.

may is still the best time to go,in my opinion :)
